Enjoyed my overnight stay in the one bedroom suite. I was worried at first when I saw the hotel is located close to a pub however, the room itself was very quiet and had both overhead fan and air conditioner to manage the heat. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
As always the room was clean with everything we needed supplied. This hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of all of Port Douglas' attractions. There is no lift access, but for us this is not an issue.
Beautiful hotel with great amenities in a perfect location. In the heart of Port Douglas with easy access to shops and restaurants, and within walking distance to the marina and many dive/snorkel companies. Would definitely recommend the 1 bedroom suite with the balcony. Feels like you are in a tropical resort with the louvre doors allowing for an outdoor/indoor vibe. A very memorable stay.
Enjoyed the one bedroom suite - everything we could want was there. Pool was sparkling and reception most helpful. Position of hotel was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Port Douglas. Only minor constructive comments: In kitchen cupboard (glasses cupboard above the hot place) there was something like mouse poop. Could not find the full length mirror. Whilst we were using the pool on two days we saw, what we assumed, were backpapers come in and use the shower and toilet. We did mention this to the pool maintenance guy.
I thought the room was ok, but my gf disliked it. I indicated that I was arriving at 8am and actually turned up around 10am. I really wanted to crash in a room for a bit, but was unfortunately not able to check in until 1.30pm. I'm half appreciative and yet disappointed as I had indicated that I would turn up early.
This hotel is great for people looking for a central and convenient location that is close to the water and the Sunday markets. The hotel has multiple access points which is great and the staff are very accomodating as well.
The location is great and the staff are friendly. The room was so dusty, we couldn't get house keeping the day of arrival, so I cleaned the room. I spoke to the Mantra on the Inlet in February 2017 to confirm configuration and sleeping requirements and the room was not set up as discussed. The next day housekeeping came to rectify the configuration and they could not secure the king bed so they tied the casters with plastic bags, that lasted one night before the bags loosened, I had to re-tie each day. I was told by housekeeping to leave the bin outside and they would empty, it took two days to have the bin emptied and they didn't put a new bin liner in after each empty. The fridge in room 212 continually failed. The panelling to the ends of the balcony are so dangerous with a toddler, my toddler was that quick to climb even though I was continually watching her and pulled her off as quick as I could, 1 second more she would have gone over the balcony. There were so many panels in the shutters missing or broken and one of the shutters leading to the balcony was off it's track.
Our room was extremely small and the room was a non service room so we had the same towels for the week - not something I was aware of when I booked - the windows didn't open so we couldn't have fresh air - no where to hang out towels to dry so we had wet towels all week -
Position is excellent and have stayed there a few times but the last stay was disappointing becauze our two bedroom spa apartment was in desperate need of a thorough clean - glasses in cupboard were all greasy and lots of finger marks - same goes for outside and inside glass topped tables - not good housekeeping Couch in sitting room full of stains and pieces of potato chips between seat cushions. Wake up Mantra you can do a lot better.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for a week and this was our first time to Port Douglas. It was such a fabulous holiday and I really did not want to come home. The apartment was very clean and well appointed with a fabulous bathroom, good cupboard in the bedroom, ceiling fan and air-conditioning. The kitchenette is small but has everything you need for a holiday including stovetop, microwave & fridge. There is also a fully working laundry in a cupboard. There is a lovely balcony with outdoor furniture to enjoy a drink at sunset or a casual dinner. It overlooks the main drag of Macrossan Street and a popular pub and a few restaurants which can produce a bit of noise but with the balcony doors shut at night we were not disturbed. The property is one of a few 'Mantras' located in and around Port Douglas and the reception is not always staffed. But the other Mantras are not far so guests can use the pool & facilities of the other Mantras close by. But the 'one the Inlet' does feel understaffed and forgotten at times. But that would be the only bad factor. So my rating is Very Good not Excellent.
