For the money this was a terrible hotel. The rooms were very old and in disrepair, water didn’t work for a day (to flush toilets), furniture was dirty and I didn’t want to sit on it, the food was not great. Only good point was the personal chef that cooked for us and was delicious. The road to the property is destroyed and made the taxi (although Petey was awesome) ride difficult. I would never stay again or recommend the property.

Positive - close to the Blue Lagoon and has the potential to be lovely. Negative - this property needs a complete renovation - light sockets are coming out of the wall, lime built-up around the sinks in the bathrooms and kitchens. The outside needs painting and pool area needs some TLC. Also, the roads to the villas are very bad.

the property is very nice old school style and we alwasy love it , we wish there was a t least breakfast or some kind of refreshments other than cooking or being cooked for in the villa. Especially after a very long drive , bring supplies for your kitchen,. the place is super beautiful and the view spectacular , we usually go to winifred beach which is local and this time we went to Frenchmans cove which is closer and has great service good and inexpensive to rent lounge chairs, the waiter brought us everthing the drinks were great and the burger was excellent with the fries ! we wanted the jerk chicken but there wasnt any ready. the water and beach are pristine and it wasnt crowded on a weekday.

We had the most amazing view, we a balcony that opened up to the ocean breeze, Room 27. We also had a Gourmet Chef, Maria.

Ended up not staying here for the 4 nights book. Just wasn’t a good initial experience. Villa not stocked with any food as requested. Pool not as shown in pics. Wasn’t a fan of walking into the villa and it’s wide open, I’d rather be given the option to have it open or not, limiting the potential for mosquitoes and critters getting into the room. The view from the villa is however breath taking...

We loved the place we stayed. Very disturbed with the roads getting there and the road leading up the hill and to the Goblin Hills. If there is any reason why we would not go back it would be for the roads in Jamaica getting to Goblin Hills. The staff and our " maid servant" was awesome. I don't like using that term " maid servant". She was excellent in making feel at home. John Felbinger

Our experience was good but could have been better with Wi-Fi that actually works. The bed was uncomfortable. The staff was pleasant and very accommodating.

Wonderfull experience... i thoroughly enjoyed my stay..

Had a great stay and staff was excellent. Quite and peaceful and not crowded

Dear Michelle, Thank you for writing a review. We need to hear from a wide variety of guests. You have mentioned being without water for a day and I need to clarify for you and other readers that this was an unexpected event due to a water pump repair, which was carried out.We have not received any prior complaints that furniture was dirty. I am sorry that you did not bring this up to the reception staff who would have been able to take steps to deal with your complaint. I am somewhat puzzled that although the food was”not great” you had a personal chef whose food was “delicious”…? To be more clear, the road you mention which was being worked on was indeed difficult: however it is a section of the government’s construction of a new highway to Port Antonio and not the road that leads to our property. Thank you for providing feedback. It will be taken into account.

I think you will find your comments on the pool and painting to be all satisfactory at this time. Yes the main road has been under construction and we look forward to its early completion. The road to the villas is not this road, and is in good condition. Thank you for writing.

Dear anonymous, we're happy you enjoyed your amazing views and the culinary doings of Maria! : ) Those villas, next to the rolling lawns that many people think is a golf course in photos, really have a marvelous vantage point. We hope you walked down the path to look out over Princess Nina's Island, just below your villa. Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

Good day Frustrated on Orbitz, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay at Goblin Hill villas. I am assuming there was a miscommunication and or misunderstanding somewhere along the booking process. I am checking into what might have gone wrong. Regarding the open villas, we usually open them up to take advantage of the cross breezes and breathtaking views. They can be kept closed at night if you desire. I trust that your next stay with us will be different and definitely a more enjoyable experience.

Dear John, Thank you for your kind review. We do not use the term “maid servant” either. We call her housekeeper/cook because that is what she does, and as you have pointed out she delivered “awesome” service and made you felt right at home. Thanks also for commending our staff. They always go the extra mile for our guests. We too are unhappy with the state of our roads and plans are underway to undertake repairs to the section that leads to Goblin Hill’s entrance. On your next trip, we recommend that you travel from the Montego Bay airport along the coastal highway that will take you right into Port Antonio and onto San San. It is a longer (4 hours) trip and we usually recommend to our guests that they rent a car with a driver to do the driving. We recommend Island Car Rentals. Alternately, Goblin Hill Reception can arrange for our driver, Petey, who doubles as a guide to pick you up at the airport and, if you wish, take you back to the airport at the end of your stay. We look forward to seeing you again.

Dear Anonymous on Orbitz, Thank you for choosing to stay at Goblin Hill villas at San San. We regret that the free wifi service was not working at the time of your stay. We do admit that the service can be intermittent in that area of Portland at times, and will make mention of this on our website to avoid disappointment. We apologize that you found your bed uncomfortable. Please let us know which villa you were in, as we’d like to check this out. We have upgraded many of our beds recently and would like to find out if there are others in need of replacement. Thanks for complimenting our staff; they are very interested in ensuring that our guests enjoy their stay with us. We do hope you will return to stay with us again. With our best wishes.
