Staff of the reception was very customer friendly and helpful. A special compliment for David Paz. Our room was fine, however the lighting is very poor. Next to the beds the lighting is so poor that reading is almost impossible. Next to or above the writing table no lighting is available. This is a point of attention. The kitchen is good and the staff in the restaurant, especially Sra. Maria Carmen Adelino, is very friendly. Just a tip: please do serve another type of bread with lunch and dinner. The WiFi connection is reasonable fast.
Absolutely stunning hotel, service, staff and views. Comfy beds with superior linens. Breakfast is included and delicious. Pool is seasonal and unfortunately was closed when we arrived. Thoughtful and helpful front desk staff.
This hotel is a bit run-down and in need of an overhaul. It's well located near the river with a pretty walk into town. The rooms are small and musty smelling. The pool doesn't seem to be used much. The tennis courts are in disrepair. The dining room is the nicest area. The breakfast was nice but the staff unfriendly.
The Parador hotels are normally based in very impressive historical buildings. The one in Tui was certainly not that, it had a nice view out across the river and good pool with well kept grounds. The room was Ok but nothing special and the breakfast was just about acceptable for a hotel of the standing. All in all I was a bit disappointed and though I would have been better staying elsewhere. BTW I was a pilgrim on the way to Santiago Compestella so was really looking forward to something special for a couple of nights.
Exceptional friendly and helpful staff. We spent some time reading on sunbeds by the pool which was very quiet. The camino passes the hotel and you can walk along it to the town. There are walks along the river and over it to Portugal.
Comfortable, spacious, restaurants always worth a visit, such a help if you are travelling, particularly on the day you arrive. More local information would be welcome and European feather pillows please. Very good value for money especially the 3 for 2 or Golden Days which we used.
Great spot. Lovely grounds. Nice pool which was much appreciated after a long Camino day. Food was average as was the service but fine. Tui is a lovely town and of course Valenca Portugal is walking distance. Front desk was quite helpful on a few matters which is great.
We stopped here for one night after a long day of touring and driving. WE really needed a good night's rest - and that was exactly what we got. The facilities overlook a lovely river scene. The desk clerk was friendly and efficient. Our room was dark and quiet. Parking was free and convenient. Just wish we had more time in the area.
Perfect location for trips to Portugal, as well as Southern Galicia, within easy reach and fast routes to Vigo, Portevendra, Santiargo and many more smaller coastal towns and villages. The Town of Tui is also a real find with History in abundance.
We began our Camino Portugues in Tui, Spain. Since we were traveling from California, we stayed at the Parador de Tui for four days to adjust to the time difference. It was a peaceful and quiet experience. It was walking distance from the old town of Tui, Spain, and we could also walk into Valenca, Portugal across the International Bridge. We enjoyed the hot Galician soup served in the restaurant. Whenever we travel abroad, we try to learn the native language which was helpful in communicating with the staff, people in the villages and other pilgrims on the Camino.
