La Papalaya is a beautiful and conveniently situated villa that mixes both modern and traditional. One of few rental villas located in the countryside which is walking distance (1 mile) into the centre of the beach town of Puerto Pollensa, accessible along a wide and level foot/cycle path all the way into town. From the villa it's also a brief cycle ride to Pollensa old town (bikes are included at the villa). The property has two large sheltered terraces, a private swimming pool with roman steps and the option of pool fencing (at no extra cost), and a barbecue area, all enclosed within a walled, mature, evergreen garden. Both bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms. The villa features air conditioning, WIFI (recently upgraded to 600MB), UK & German terrestrial TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, movies and sports subscriptions, 6 bicycles for all family ages, bike lights and helmets, a new PS5 with games, children's swim jackets and pool inflatables, table tennis, a house tablet (within which we've added lots of local recommendations for places to eat, things to do etc.), a stocked Nespresso machine, Lego and board games, books and DVDs.

The house is owned by myself and my wife, Maria Bennassar, who is the granddaughter of the late, local painter, Dionis Bennassar. We also run the museum in Pollensa old town which is dedicated to him, and worth a visit.

From the start, Craig was fantastic - quick replies to communication, always friendly and helpful. The villa was very clean and comfortable for the week we were there. It’s well situated with access to lots of things to see and do - but it’d definitely be slower without a rental car. There was a little noice from the road but nothing that stopped us from sleeping or enjoying our time outside. We’d happily return again in the future.

We have had the most wonderful stay at this gorgeous villa. Craig our host has been amazing at communicating, from sending us a video of how to get into the house (we arrived after 1am) to leaving us water, coffee pods, Pizza and Kombucha for our arrival. The villa - rustic with the most beautiful artwork adorning the walls. Ample storage in the kitchen and bedrooms. Instruction manual and a fully stocked laundry room with everything you could possibly need (dishwasher detergent, mosquito plug ins, pool toys, washing machine, washing powder etc...the list goes on!) Kitchen - oils, herbs, spices, coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pepper. Freezer with ice cube trays. Working hob, cooker and microwave, Bluetooth speaker. Two fridges - one in outdoor BBQ area which is perfect for extra wine, water and beer! Living room - Smart TV with all the channels, multiple books (god send as I forgot my kindle!) /, ps5 (we didn't use it) and board games...comfy sofas, fan and patio leading out to outdoor seating area and table tennis table. Dining area - leading to utility room and double access to the pool, perfect to spend the evening having dinner, drinks and playing games. Outside space - beautifully kept gardens surround the villa with a lockable external door by the driveway. Bikes so you can make the most a majorcas cycle friendly roads.Bedrooms - both ensuite, plenty of duvets, air conditioning, with beds and pillows that are so comfy - we slept so well here. 100% recommend

This is a brilliant property, cared for and managed by an exceptional host. You will see from the previous reviews that Craig is incredibly resourceful and helpful... We fully support those reviews. We had a few non-house related issues with flight delays and later a flat tire and Craig was supportive and very helpful with both… he had a mechanic with us within 30 mins to fix the tire which was very kind and a great relief. The house itself is perfect, it has everything you may need and more… and the beds are incredibly comfortable. If I were to nip pick, I wouldn’t say it is easily walkable to Puerto, it was so very hot when we were there and there is no shade on the first 15 minute stretch so not for the faint hearted and it is about 30 minute walk. That said the buses are great and easy and a bus stop only a short walk away from the house. We felt the photos didn’t do the garden justice, it is beautifully well kept and completely closed so you are fully in your own pretty space. We had a great stay and we were in safe hands with Craig. Thank you for a wonderful stay and all your help

Just back from a 2 week stay in this wonderful villa. It truly is a home away from home and far exceeded any expectations we had. Excellent pool, clean and well stocked with everything you need. Air con in bedrooms is perfect and the beds are so comfy! Craig is a fantastic host and is on hand should you need anything. There are bus stops just a few mins walk from the villa (with a bus turning up every 15/20 mins) so a car isn’t essential but I would recommend getting one if you can as does make it easier for larger shopping trips or if you have children etc and also as there can be a bit of a wait for taxis at busy times. Located just outside the main resort but not so far out that you are isolated, with shops and supermarkets just a 10 min stroll away and only a 5 min bus/taxi ride from the resort centre. Wouldn’t hesitate to book this villa again!

Perfect for the port and for Pollensa town - the market is a must as is a visit to Saint James Parish Church in Alcudia - great communication.Thank you for sorting out bikes for us and introducing us to a species of owl that we had never known about ! Beautiful property

Beautiful, clean and well stocked villa, with a great pool area in a brilliant location. Plenty on offer to entertain children from Lego to numerous tv apps as well as inflatables for the pool and bikes. Craig is a great host. An information booklet and a contact number are provided for any queries during your stay. We’d love to stay here again.

Lovely villa - perfect for young children

We enjoyed our stay at the villa with our 3 year old son. The host kindly set up a very sturdy pool gate which gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. The villa is well kept and we made use of all the facilities - WiFi, toys, water floats and washing machine. We will certainly come back again, perhaps not in September as the mozzies were horrendous!

Another wonderful stay in this beautiful villa, surrounded by gorgeous scenery. Very comfortable villa, with all your mod cons you might need for your stay. Fantastic pool and location. Happy times at Papalaya!

What a great week at this lovely homely and characterful villa. Really well stocked with everything one needed and beautiful art work that pleased us all. The bikes were a real asset when needing to nip to the local supermarket only a short ride away. Craig is an amazing host! All problems/ queries sorted immediately and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We did hire a car but believe the buses are brilliant and easily accessible. We all agreed we would love to return!

Majorcan rustic villa

We booked this villa because of location and excellent reviews Craig is indeed a great host and the amenities, especially bikes and many added sundries all added to a lovely holiday. The mosquitoes were unfortunately out in force during our stay ( not Craigs fault) but we felt that the extensive shrubbery around the villa and wet grass from rain and sprinklers didn’t help the situation. We were conscious of bringing dirt in / out of the villa too because of the muddy grass. We tried to solve this by making a door mat! We rarely were able to sit outside to eat which was a shame. . Perhaps a nice patio area could be considered ?? ! In summary, had a lovely holiday and the beach front is a very short bike ride away which was perfect. Thank you

Craig has thought of everything you might need in the villa. He was so helpful.. The villa is well located for supermarkets etc. Close to both Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa. Craig provides lots of information on the area and Island, the Rough guide and Sunflower serirs books are available as well as useful notes.

A comfortable, private haven

From the start Craig is a fantastic and attentive host. After a small glitch (to our relief) trying to enter the wrong villa, we instantly loved La Papalaya with its good size pool, mature garden, well proportioned interior with local art adding a homely feel. It is far enough back from a fairly busy road for there to be minimal traffic noise but, at peak times, the crossing to the cycle path can mean a long wait. The villa is easy cycling distance from the edge of Puerto Pollensa or Pollensa town, that little bit further. Both locations are lovely so the villa is well placed whilst allowing a sense of escape and privacy. We loved our stay on Mallorca and at La Papalaya. Craig has gone out of his way to provide plenty of additional amenities such as bikes, pool toys, table tennis and indoor games, all of which enhance an already lovely place to base for the holiday. We can’t recommend La Papalaya highly enough and thank you, Craig.

Outstanding property

Our second visit and and equally as impressed as the first time we saw this property. Immaculately kept and is like a home from home. It is about a 20/30 minute walk into the resort along a path away from the road. Taxis were used on an evening in the dark. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic week’s stay

The villa was everything we hoped it would be and then some. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The pool and gardens felt so secluded but it was an easy cycle, walk or bus journey to the Port or into Pollensa. Craig is an outstanding host, so helpful and quick to respond to the queries we had. Being able to supply us with a UK plug converter and extra cycle helmet at very short notice. Even the restaurant recommendations were spot on. Thanks once again Craig, all the best Mark and family.

As soon as we arrived at Craig's villa we knew we had made the right choice, the villa is in a fabulous location with a great outlook. The villa interior is spotless with loads of extras included to make your stay more enjoyable, and the garden and pool area are fantastic. Craig kept us well informed during the booking process and during our stay when we had a couple of minor issues which Craig dealt with quickly. We hired a car and explored Northern Mallorca driving to Alcudia, Soller, Port De Soller and Cap de formentor during our week, the area is fantastic. We have rented many properties over the years but have never returned to any of them as we like to explore new places, but would definitely consider returning here in the future, Thanks for a wonderful holiday. We had a lovely time staying at La Papylaya villa. The villa was in a great location with views of the mountains and we could walk into Puerto Pollensa. The villa had a lovely garden and swimming pool and was very well equipped. Craig was on hand if there had been any problems - which there weren’t. Beautiful setting relaxing holiday!

The villa is like home from home. It has everything you need and Craig has provided lots of lovely extras which were very much appreciated. The swimming pool was very clean and a great size - we spent a lot of time in and beside it! The bbq area was excellent and also very well used by us. Air con in the bedrooms was very welcome and when there seemed to be an issue with it Craig was straight here and sorted out someone to come and change the gas. The walk to Port De Pollença is very flat and there is a lovely cafe (cafe Aries) to stop for a drink on the way - we had dinner and breakfast there one evening too which was really nice and great value. The small supermarket beside it is great for anything you need including fresh bread and pastries. Eroski supermarket is on the 2nd roundabout just before you get into the resort itself. We tended to walk in to Port De Pollença and get a taxi back - it is very dark on the way back but you can do it with a torch. All in all a great holiday - thank you Craig for your hospitality, advice and availability :-)

My wife and daughters had a wonderful holiday at this beautiful villa. Craig the owner is a lovely guy and goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy - he even brought over some toy drones he had bought for the kids to play with! La Papalaya is in a beautiful, tranquil spot with a view of mountains all around, and close to the old town and Puerto Pollensa beaches (probably best if you have a car, but not essential.) The place is clean and comfortable, with some beautiful artwork on the walls, and there are plenty of games etc to keep everyone happy. Even an ipad with Spotify account connected which was a nice touch. The pool was a great size, although it's deep - so young children won't be able to touch feet on the bottom even in the shallow end.) Overall we had a wonderful stay at La Papalaya and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Beautiful Villa

This villa was everything we expected and more, like a real home from home with everything you could possibly need at hand. We had a few power issues due to weather conditions which Craig went above and beyond to remedy, considering these were completely outwith his control. We cannot stress enough how thoughtful he was. We would highly recommend this villa and, if returning to this area, would definately book again without hesitation.

We had such a wonderful stay at La Papalaya, the location of the villa is perfect for being near to the sea and the old town. I can't express enough how great Craig the owner is, helpful and informative, we really felt looked after. There were some lovely touches to our arrival, milk in the fridge, fruit and crisps, an information pack that had everything sorted, even directing you to the best places to park when visiting beaches etc! He was also on hand if we needed to ask questions. The villa itself was a real treat, modern but cosy, very clean and equipped. Then you have the added bonus of the art collection. Stay here and you'll be very happy with your holiday!
