I thought the property should be nicer for $148.50 per night. The room was clean but dated. The towel rack in the bathroom fell off of the wall, housekeeping never came to my room, and the Direct TV was out for most of my visit. The breakfast was the usual free breakfast, but the breakfast bar attendant was very friendly, helpful and kept the area stocked and clean.
Walked-In off the street and nobody was at the desk. Guest Service Agent was in breakfast area watching TV. I was informed that it would be a 30 minute wait for my room, understandable since it was before check-in. Parking is far from entrance, pool area a disaster (even for off-season). Gate broken, trash all over parking lot. Get to my room, immediately noticed damage to closet door, smoke detector hanging from ceiling (major fire violation), old damaged furnishings. Brought issues up to the front desk and was told I know I already have a work order in for that room. Automatically charged an extra $1.50 per night for a in room safe, (if used or not). Walked by the PM desk shift later that evening and I said hello and he just sat there not acknowledging me (the guest). Later that night I had noisy upstairs neighbors jumping around, called the desk 3 times with NO answer. Walked to the front desk and couldn't find anyone! I've worked Hospitality most of my life including a few Choice Hotel Properties, along with some 5 Star Properties. This hotel does not stand up to the Brand Standards and I would be embarrassed to rent a room like this. Overpriced for the value! Renters beware.
We arrived, 4 adults, 4 children, when we got there we noticed that we could of gotten adjoining rooms. Went to the front desk to inquire about it and right away we were accommodated. Very clean and spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff. The breakfast was great, from eggs, bacon, sausage to waffles, cereal, muffins, danish fruit and yogurt, coffee and juice. How can you go wrong. The breakfast alone makes up for the reasonable price of the room. And the lady working the breakfast was fantastic! Thank You!
My wife and I have stayed here a few times when visiting our daughter at Plymouth State University. It's locate about a ten minute drive from the campus and is located right off Route 93. The rooms have been clean and the beds comfortable. The only issue we have with the rooms is the noisy air conditioners. They turn on and shut off constantly. If the fan would run consistently, it would not be an issue. As I have trouble sleeping, the noise wakes me up frequently during the night. The staff are all very friendly, especially the woman running the breakfast area. The breakfast itself is typical, but the eggs are better than we've had in many other hotels. One other thing to note, is that there is no elevator in the hotel. If you're not on the main floor you have to walk up or down one flight. This doesn't bother us, but you should be aware of it. We'd prefer to stay at the Fairfield Inn since it is closer to the campus and is new but they charge outrageous rates when there are events in town. They wanted $479 for a Friday night while the Comfort Inn charged $152! This hotel is nothing fancy but, if you can sleep through the air conditioning issues and don't mind walking up or down one flight of stairs, it's fine for a night or two.
Upon arrival the exterior was nice. Parking far from entrance. Lobby was decent and receptionist was great and informative. Room was spacious clean and comfortable. Bathroom was the same. No elevator -1 star. I stay 200 nights a year in 130 mid range hotels. The purpose of the reviews are mostly for the patrons. Hopefully this will allow owners/management to improve their hotel and staff. Nights stayed- Will I stay again: Yes**** No Possibly
My room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The T.V. was good sized and HD. The shower had plenty of water pressure and plenty of towels. The breakfast was pedestrian, nothing special. My only complaint was the desk staff. They could have been a little friendly.
I stayed here this past week in preparation for skiing Loon Mountain after a nor'easter. It is about 30 miles from the mountain but all on route 93 as the Comfort Inn is right off of 93 at exit 25 I believe. The room was clean and comfortable with a good sized bathroom. It was a short stay so I didn't get to use any facilities. Rates are lower than around Loon so it is definitely an option to take into account on a trip. Easy to book directly through the Choice Hotel's app.
stayed new year's eve night at this hotel,as noted in previous reviews no elevator but only one flight up or down stairs. room was clean upon arrival was a little cold as was an incoming storm so weather was cold we relaxed and got ready to go to ice castle we attempted to turn up heat in room came on for approximately 1 minute then shut off tried multiple times with same results called desk and he gave me directions to reset thermostat taking off cover etc, also tried multiple times and recalled desk and staff member came to room to try same thing no results i suggested we unplug and let it reset itself which worked but had to do same thing multiple times during the night when room cooled off during night. after an unrestful evening my wife went to shower before me and stated good luck with hot water as it would come on and off throughout her shower. upon my turn i had no pressure in the shower so wasn't even able to get water to come out of the shower spigot due to lack of pressure so had to wash up in sink with cold water. mentioned the issues we had at registration desk upon checkout and explained our issues when he inquired how our stay was and i mentioned problems we encountered and that i would probably not consider staying here again and desk staff member didn't seem to care at all of our concerns or us not staying at the establishment again so much for customer service to bad it is a cute hotel and convenient to highway but not overly concerned about their customers
Room was clean, had a faint cigarette smoke smell... (being from New York, smoking is off limits everywhere). Over all clean and comfortable. Can't beat the price for an overnight stay. Close to shops and restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful.
This is a caution that the owner/manager of this property has very little in the way of consumer judgement. I reserved this properly by mistake using the Expedia portal. I was trying to reserve a room at the Comfort Inn in Ashland Oregon, not Ashland New Hampshire. In fact, the first time I tried to reserve the room, I noticed that it was in New Hampshire, as opposed to Oregon, cancelled, went back in to what I thought was Ashland Oregon, only to miss that it once again was Ashland New Hampshire. We did not discover our mistake until we arrived at the Comfort Inn in Ashland Oregon. The general manager in Oregon directly pleaded with the owner of the Comfort Inn in New Hampshire to refund the cost but the owner refused. The Oregon general manager asked if the hotel was full (it wasn't) and pointed out to the owner that given a similar circumstance, he would refund the reservation cost no-questions asked. Still the owner refused. This was an innocent mistake and it is not as-if my spouse and I were going to a different hotel - we went to a Comfort Inn - just on the opposite side of the country. The owner was resting on the letter of the law that this was a non-refundable reservation and he simply was going to take the money period. I would caution all that this owner is not particularly friendly or comforting.
