Quick Summary A modern, true 5 star hotel with lovely grounds, a very large pool, great room, a fantastic variety of food and drink and the best staff and service we've ever had the pleasure of encountering. Initial impressions and the grounds and pool Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by the staff with a much welcomed cold flannel (it was pretty hot) and freshly made lemonade, instead of waiting at reception we were seated in the foyer and then after a few minutes we were taken to our room and shown around. The grounds are quite large, and suitable for wheelchair users or people who may find it hard walking, throughout the whole hotel. We had the pleasure of staying in room 772 which is one of the few rooms with a view overlooking the beach, all rooms have nice views but this one is at the end of the hotel in a quiet area running parallel to the beach. The pool is incredibly large (I believe it's the largest in Crete) and runs along the middle of the hotel, there's a shallow end that's often used by children and then the depth is 1.4 meters all the way down to where the pool ends near the beach. There are plenty of sunbeds for guests to soak up the sun and thankfully these should not be reserved by putting down your towel and returning a few hours later. There's also a number of tables with jacuzzi seats that are in the water if you wanted to drink whilst in the pool. There are a few bridges to get from either side and towards the beach end of the pool there's a 'quiet area'. There's also a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi which is incredibly peaceful and under 16s are not allowed to use. Around the front of the hotel is an area for kids, with a number of slides and dedicated play area suitable for the little people. Room & WiFi The room, much like everything else is very modern. We had a standard room, and it was everything you'd need, although I would note that the rooms with pools have the pools on the wrong side of the hotel so I can't imagine they would ever get very warm. The bathroom has a walk in shower, plenty of shampoos which are refilled when empty, and even a set of weighing scales if you're conscious of your weight after eating and drinking all the fabulous food the hotel has to offer. There's also a normal size hairdryer provided and you can borrow an iron and ironing board that can be delivered to your room if needed. There's plenty of wardrobe storage available and the safe is included at no extra cost. There's also tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The main living area has a large sized bed (not 2 singles pushed together), they are very comfy and coupled with the easily adjustable air conditioning make for a pleasant night's sleep. There's also a sofa, a small fridge, a huge mirror, a modern TV, and a nice balcony area. The whole hotel has really good WiFi, it's always capable of streaming and you only need to login to the hotels website once to use your device. As you have to login to a website, if you'd like to stream content to the TV I'd recommend a device like a Chromecast and then create a hotspot on your phone for it to connect to (bypassing the need to login to the Web page). Food & Drink There's a number of restaurants available, the main one is used for breakfast, lunch and dinner; with seating both inside and out. There's also a Greek restaurant and an Italian restaurant which is used for lunches and is open later than the normal restaurant should you feel peckish in the afternoon. In addition to these there's a Gyros takeaway bar at the front of the hotel by the kids area. There's also numerous bars, ice cream and a fruit juice stand so you're never far away from somewhere to grab something to eat or drink. The hotel also has table service and this extends even to the sunbeds, where the staff will often walk around and bring you drinks. The quality of the food is amazing, with a special mention to the a la carte experiences being of exceptional quality. There's 2 of these, a Greek styled one and a grilled type of which you get to use once each per week. These can be booked using the hotels app. There's plenty of food on offer and even a kids corner which has the usual chips, pasta, nuggets etc for the fussy eaters. The sweets/desserts on offer are all of really high quality but it would have been nice to see some more traditional Greek desserts as we've missed them! (Baklava etc). The drinks are all of high quality, and whilst there is a set menu of cocktails and such, you can also order whatever takes your fancy, all of which use named brands and not the usual local variations. There's also plenty of different wines and beers and coffees available. Staff/Service As with many hotels, what can make or break an experience is the staff. The staff here are without a doubt the best we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They go above and beyond the usual and are an absolute delight to talk to. As mentioned above there's table service throughout the hotel but it's their attitude and pleasantness that sets the bar that all other hotels should strive to achieve. We'd like to make a special mention to Maria, Dionysia and Xenia on reception; Despoina, Anastasia and Marina Joy in the guest relation service department, Vasilis in Chefs Grill, Maria at the beach bar, Maria in the main restaurant and Petia by the reception and pool bar who have all been lovely to get to know and amazing company, we know we've probably missed a few names (sorry) but you know who you are :) This is easily the best hotel we've stayed at, and even beats the Andrianna hotel in Rhodes which already set a high standard. Other and entertainment There's free tennis, a spa and a multitude of modern fitness machines in the gym. Housekeeping comes round every day, the whole hotel is kept spotless and maintained to a very high standard. The hotel has its own minimart, and is competitively priced, but if you wanted even more choice there's another supermarket about 5 minutes walk away and even more choice in neighbouring Kolymvari which is about a 15 minute walk. There's underground parking if you hire a car, and on the subject of car hire whilst there is a car company in the hotel we would highly recommend Cretecars.com. The staff can also park the car for you if you like but it's a little bit cringey to watch people ask the staff to do that, the car park is very spacious and easy enough to park in yourself. We don't usually watch the provided entertainment but here it's of a much higher quality and is done in a classy way with live rock music, live jazz music, live Greek music and acrobats to name but a few. This is all usually hosted in and around the foyer so you don't have to go off to a separate part of the hotel. All in all, an absolute fantastic hotel, with unforgettable staff, lovely food and drink and a peaceful atmosphere by the beach. We've had an absolutely amazing 2 weeks here and it's certainly a place we'd love to come back to. Highly recommended!!! Ευχαριστούμε πάρα πολύ!
I arrived with my partner at midnight and the check-in process was quick and easy, we even had sandwiches and water in our room which I thought was nice. I will try to summarise my review by points - The hotel was beautiful, especially at night. It was very clean! - The food was nice, my absolute favourite was chef's grill. I wasn't too fond of the Greek restaurant, having said that the main restaurant had a lot of variety - There were always sun lounges free no matter what time. You can also book a gazebo but I found that the sun lounge was great, especially the sunbed in the pool area. - The spa was relaxing, I'm really glad I booked this - There is a shop nearby to purchase gifts, snacks etc which is really handy - The bus stop to go into town is across the road only around €3 one way and takes 45 minutes. - The drink options in the bar lounge was great! Best cocktails I've had in an all inclusive resort - Although there isn't much to do in the evenings I can tell the hotel does try to offer entertainment - there were often live music and they had a 'summer greek bbq' as well as a summer street food party. - The guest relations team were incredibly friendly; they even gifted a cake and sparkling wine on my anniversary - There are facilities to play sports such as football, volleyball etc. However, I would like to add that I found it hard to find the staff in charge of this - but guest relations and reception were able to help with tennis/table tennis and providing a ball etc. overall, I can't think of any bad points. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with great weather, pool and food you will enjoy it here. If you are looking for an activity filled holiday to go out every day and explore this might not be for you. I would definitely return, every staff - from reception to the restaurants (I wish I had names were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. I have already recommended this hotel to family and friends!
We had a wonderful stay at the Euphoria Resort. The Resort is fantastic. The SPA is great as well. We had a few massage. Hara is a wonderfull and professional masseuse. Thank you a very much Hara. My back is in much better condition now.
We had a wonderful stay at the euphoria resort. We stayed ten days with our 2 years old daughter. The family suite is very comfortable and quiet. We had a direct view on the main pool and could put our daughter to sleep in the afternoon (very good insulation). The restaurants are nice, even the main buffet. A lot of variety and a pretty good quality. We would have enjoyed even more local food, but the choice are still broad. One negative point is for the à la carte restaurant. The all-inclusiv-PLUS allowed us to visit these restaurant once during our stay, which is not very all inclusive. On the other hand the wine and cocktails and co are included. The main pool is huge and has various area for children and adults (beach like entrance, whirlpool with table for the drinks and even a quiet area shall one want piece). The “other” pool is a huge playground for children and the slides are great for teenagers and adults. Lifeguards are always on duty and REALLY do their work (maybe a little too much even). Sure safety first, but they could be more tolerant... We weren’t at the beach since it is not a sandy beach and could not compete with the pools. We used the spa four times and just loved the massages! We had “our” therapist the whole time (Hara) and she did a great job! She could even resolve some of my back pain. On top of that the team is lovely. Last words about the crew. The hotel was full (main school holidays) this summer and we felt like someone was here just for us! Really great! Everyone speaks english (even some french words) and is nice. For example, we arrived quite late the first day (10pm) and missed the dinner (2 hours drive from Heraklion airport). We found sandwiches and water in our room. We recommend this hotel if you travel in the region and if you are with children. If you search a quiet place without children, you may want go elsewhere.
We visited the Euphoria Resort as a family with two girls, 3 and 5. This Review mostly focuses on this perspective. Living in Switzerland, we are used to very high standards. You can't expect that from a Greek Resort, even a 5*. But isn't that one of the reasons to visit Greece, to relax and take things more easy? The Resort is big and "stretched". People are nicely distributed and it never felt crowded. The big, long pool marks the central element like a (non-flowing) river through the resort, almost to the beach. Deck chairs, restaurants, bars are well placed along the pool. Even though it is big, you never have to walk too long. Nice layout. One end of the pool is formed like a beach (no sand). Shallow and wide, perfect for small kids. There are many places to be: lounges, bar, beach, pool, tennis/soccer court, big lawn for kids to play,... and food and drinks are never far. and free and fast WiFi is available even in remote corners. The rooms (we had a sea view family suite) are nice, modern, clean. Some things aren't on par with 5* expectations, but still nice and functional. The view was great, even though the surrounding areas of the Resort can't hold up with it, if course. So if you look straight to the beach, both thumbs up. if you look left or right, well... The beach is mostly coarse gravel (stones are 1 to 10cm). Actually, it was very uncomfortable to walk on it without shoes. The view is nice, so if you just want to lie on a deck chair at the beach and enjoy yourself, this is great. If you want to swim on a nice beach with fine sand, don't come here. (We went to Elafonissi and Falassarna instead - 60 and 40 minutes by car. Very nice beaches!). BTW: free Indoor parking all week. nice. All inclusive is nice. Almost everything is free, food and drinks are served all over the resort all day long, even at the beach. In the main restaurant, wines (all greek) are included as well. Food was nice, lots of possibilities. Greek, international, Italian, grill. Breakfast was also great. I am no friend of typical all-inclusive, but here it helped us relax. There is a "Aqua Park" for Kids with 8 or 10 water slides. Quite big for a hotel. For the smallest to tennagers, everyone finds something. Opening hours weren't as advertised, sometimes it was closed for no obvious reason. Summary: We spent a nice and relaxing week on Crete. The Euphoria is great and does most things great. I'd rather place it in the 4* range, but a good one. If you don't need a nice beach at the resort, this one could be for you.
The standard of Euphoria Resort is really impressive. Extremly clean rooms, wide offer of meals, also for vegetarians, very nice staff. Drinks unlimited and served to sunbeds (!), great food, restaurants a la carte offering stunning views and perfect service. Very good quality cosmetics in rooms. Special thanks to the Manager of the hotel, Mr.Stavros, who invited us for a meeting after we have expressed concerns about homeless and sick cats living on the surrounding of the hotel. After some perturbations he helped us to save two most sick kittens! And what's more, he offered to organize Cat Cafe for next season! That will be amazing to come back to this luxury place and see that the Owners and Staff of this Resort give they hearts and care also about homeless animals. It will be just a perfect place for rest. We are happy we spent a week in Euhoria :)
Apologies for my Spelling in advance, I'm writing this in My Taxi Home From A 10 hour Travelling Day with a 6month old.....Yes I'm Borderline Delirious! (*Note Travelling home from this Resort so its fresh in my memory) We are accustom to the odd 5* jaunt and Euphoria certainly didn't dissapoint it delivered as we anticipated. Look nothing or no one is perfect but Euphoric Euphoria isn't too far off the mark. THE STAFF: Bloody marvellous! Young, Passionate, Professional and have good worh ethic. They have got it really right at this resort with the staff they seem to want to work here and want to impress. They will really go out there way to help from the cleaners to management. THE GROUNDS: This vast resort is manicured within an inch of its life and by God Its easy on the eye. Lawns are a plenty open spaces perfectly cut, bordering flowers, palms trees perfectly placed. Big up The Gardeners you super stars! THE POOL: Hugeeeeeeeee, The Spine of the Resort, Beach effect at the top end so gradual slope then snakes down to the beach running under 2 bridges. Also has 5 Jacuzzi Within the pool all with tables for drinks. Various places to enter the pool as it is over 200 metres long. Sunloungers, Chairs and Luxury Gazebos a plenty and all with waiter service which at times is a little intermittent. Cleanest Pool I have seen, the lads cleaning it every morning and night must be a mean feet cleaning that bloody pool hats off you chaps. THE FOOD & DRINK: Best Buffet food for an AI in its class so varied all tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. Good for the kids, you could eat as healthy or as naughty as you like. Both A La Carte restaurants are fabulous please book. Great variety of wines in all dinner establishments can have just the glass or a bottle (bottles) of your choice at any sitting in any of the restaurants through out the resort. Cocktails incredible made fresh and as if you bought them at a fancy bar in the City. All Branded Spirits and so it should be in fairness, but good as most 5star Greek Resorts your drinking the local paint stripper for a week or 2. THE ROOM: We had the junior suite so can only comment on that but it was excellent. Spacious, large bed extremely comfy, good storage and hanger space, free safe, cleaned everyday to a good standard, excellent rain shower, good lighting, nice view, well insulated and sound proof didn't hear anyone either side for the duration of our stay. Coffee machine (pods payable see below for cons), Kettle with tea and instant coffee. Nice balcony with furniture for 4 persons. FITNESS FACILITIES: Decent gym most the bits and bobs you need, towels at entrance and cold water machine, good music always on, state of the art equipment. Nice indoor pool also fitness classes inabundance something for everyone. Also there is beach runs, hiking, bike riding classes which is really excellent. SPA: So Professional, calming, polite and really good at what they do. There are the widest range if treatments I have ever seen please look on website. Also the Spa itself is magical so beautiful be sure to check it out. WATERPARK: So much fun for adults, children and infants a like. Always feel safe as there are 3 lifeguards always on duty. They are top Lads actually really nice and always up for a chat. Little Waffle/Gyros Joint in the water park aswell, also you can self serve yourself water, fizzy pop and your very own SELF POUR DRAFT BEER PUMP (FOR THE DADS!) I'm pulling up at home now so I'm not writing no more my fingers are hurting as it is. However I would like the include a few Gripes. THE GRIPES: Plastic F***** Straws Get Shut of them! Gym was 28degress most days no air con on. No 110v/230v for shavers toothbrush charges etc in the bathrooms. That is all Thanks Euphoria Resort See You Soon
Beautiful hotel. Excellent food. Great facilities. Indoor spa pool 20m. Outdoor one 220m. Gardens open onto beach for more swimming. Excellent yoga class with Luna in mornings. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Enjoyed evening entertainment. Many thanks for chocolate mousse cake and fizz for our wedding anniversary. We had great holiday.
This is a very modern hotel with exceptional staff and facilities. The Symposium restaurant is the main buffet style restaurant catering for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We found something different and delicious for each meal, there is delicious salads, fresh cooked produce and traditional Cretan items on offer at most meal times. There are specific sections for kids and healthy eating too. The Italian restaurant serves a variety of really nice pizza and pasta dishes along with fries, fresh fruits salads and dessert for an afternoon snack. The snack bar next to the water park and kids club serves waffles, ice cream and souvlaki (kebabs). The Chefs Grill and Kouzina are the 2 A La Carte restaurant that both serve great menus overlooking the sea. The pool is massive, very clean and very cold, you won’t struggle to find a bed anywhere. Not having to reserve beds is great. The only negative for me was that during the week we have stayed it was so cold we couldn’t use the pool, it’s the coldest I have ever come across. The rooms are large, modern and very well equipped, there are USB ports and even an HDMI port to connect your laptop etc. The products in the bathroom are very nice and you really don’t need to bring any from home. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a swim up room which was nice. But the standard rooms are exactly the same size and layout. It’s also true that the swim up rooms don’t seem to get much sun. It’s true that the entertainment is low key, but we quite liked that and it made for a relaxing evening. There is a comprehensive fitness program catering for most people, yoga, Pilates, TRX and a fully equipped gym and spa which is fantastic. And the staff really are the friendliest I have come across anywhere! From the name n reception and guest relations to all the waiters, waitresses and cleaners. The really do keep smiling. The only downside is the location, you can’t walk along the beach front as there is no promenade or foot path and walking down the road into Kolymvari was a bit dangerous and we gave up. The busses were good and we used them a few times to travel to Chania and Platanias. In summary this is one of the very best hotels I have ever stayed in and I would return in the summer for sure.
This is a superbly designed resort, only a couple of years old. Pristine clean everywhere with well appointed rooms and a fantastic swimming pool. The staff are all friendly and very helpful, who genuinely want all their guests to enjoy their stay. The food in all the restaurants is delicious and well presented, there is a wide variety of good wines. The sun beds are plentiful.
