Stayed with family in a large room which was probably decorated about 15 years ago. The whole room smelt of toilet but we were only there for one night. Thankfully it had air con which didn't help with the smell but was great because it was so hot. The breakfast was croissant and crunchy bread with salami or ham and yoghurt- enough to start the day. The decor is shabby and mismatched. But there is a certain charm to the place
There was nothing sparkling about the hotel but it was exceptional value and, being situated just two minutes walk from the leaning tower, you were able to see the site before breakfast without the hoards of tourists. It cost 12 Euro for a cab from the airport - but we actually walked to the airport for the return flight as it was only about two miles away. The receptionists were polite and spoke good English, Breakfast was basic but adequate (coffee, tea, cereal, cheese, croissant and jam, yoghurt, cold meats, OJ etc.) The room was very dated - there was a radio on the wall that probably dated back to the 1960s or 1970s (no longer working). There was not a lot of room but it was fine for two nights, The bathroom was even more compact. Whilst not fantastically clean, nor was it dirty. The room was advertised as having a safe - but BEWARE. Our safe was tiny (it would have held cash and a passport but not a large camera or even a small laptop) and was not screwed down. It was also exceptionally light so I could easily have just put it into a hand luggage size trolley bag and taken it away! We kept our valuables with us when we went out as we felt this was safer. Overall, nothing sparkling but no massive downside. The location though is exceptional.
If you are looking for a basic, clean, hotel very close to the Leaning Tower complex then this is the place for you. This hotel is nothing fancy but the price, location and friendly staff is what is attractive about this site. What is great about this hotel is that it is right in the Leaning Tower's "backyard" and we could almost reach out our window and touch the tower! Our room was nothing out of the ordinary but it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was basic but a nice addition to the stay. Plus, since we got to the hotel very late one night and were checking out the next day, they held our luggage after checkout so we could spend the day exploring Pisa after our morning visit to the Leaning Tower complex. Plus, when we were ready to leave Pisa late in the afternoon and go to the train station, they called a taxi for us. Overall, a good value for the money!
Booked this hotel at short notice (4 weeks) via a travel agent. Were not worried by it being a bit old fashioned as we had one very similar in Krakow last year. This hotels location was ideal for visiting the "Leaning Tower" as it is only approx. 100 mtrs away. Reception were very helpful but the breakfast staff looked miserable to say the least. Continental breakfast was very basic, but the cleanliness of the rooms was pretty good, plenty of hot water & clean towels every day. 20 minute taxi ride from airport. Plenty of nice restaurants within a few minutes walk.
We booked five rooms for one night the last part of April and had a very enjoyable stay. Yes, the hotel is old and could probably use some updating, but it's in Pisa! Why would you want anything new or modern? The hotel was very clean, our rooms were larger than expected, wi-fi was free and available in the room and the staff was delightful. My husband and I had stayed here for one night in 2005 and thought the second time was just as nice as the first. Our double room was located at the front of the hotel with a view of the Leaning Tower and the plaza outside the hotel. Even with the windows open at night, there wasn't much noise after 10:00. There is a Subway sandwich shop located next to the hotel and lots of other places to eat within a two minute walk. We enjoyed walking along the pedestrian area to the river and back. The river is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The Tower and cathedral are about a minute away! Our room was very clean and comfortable and had a Queen size bed. The en suite bath was nice size and we had plenty of room. Breakfast was served downstairs in the dining room. The choices were varied with lots to choose from. If you want to stay across the street from the Leaning Tower and want a hotel with lots of character, then please stay here. I think you will enjoy your stay.
Just 100m from the tower. Rooms at the front and right (as you face the front door) will have a view of it :) We were in room 43 on the 1st floor which had a balcony that involved climbing out of the window. Room 42 has a door to access its balcony. Basic room but for one night and for £60 who cares :) Would choose again for the low cost and location! Breakfast pretty basic though
The pictures are not indicative of the rooms. The breakfast is awful. The rooms are shabby. However the location is brilliant and we could view the tower from our room. I'd return to Pisa but never to this hotel.
Excellent location for sightseeing at a very reasonable price. Room was pretty tired but more than offset by the location (could see the Leaning Tower from our window & walk within 100 steps) & very competitive price. Staff were also helpful and friendly with our toddler.
We stayed here for 2 nights for a short city break. The main reason we picked this hotel was the location - it is literally 50yards from the Tower and you can see it from the hotel. We were delighted with the location and it was perfect for our short break! We arrived early and our room wasn't ready but staff were happy to keep our bags for us so we could start our break. Check in was quick and efficient. We stayed in room 71 which was a twin room. The room was small but functional and we found the beds to be very comfortable. The room had air conditioning as well which was essential as it would have been quite stuffy other wise. We would have had a view of the tower but there was a very large tree obstructing the view. The rooms are a little run down and could do with some updating and the bathroom was very small and the shower door didn't fit right and the water leaked out all over the floor and as there was no window there was a very loud extractor fan which was a little annoying. We slept well though so it gets a thumbs up for that! There were a lot of mosquitos in the room and I did get bitten quite a lot as one of the window in out room was broken - not sure if this is how they got in! The breakfast was ok - the usual croissants, mini baguettes and melba toast with Jam's and spreads. There was some meats and cheeses on the second day but not the first. It was alright to just grab something before you went out. Overall the hotel was a bit dated and run down and could do with general improvements. The staff were great and always willing to help! The absolute best thing about this place is the location and for that reason alone we would stay again!
We stayed in room 64 which had a great view of the leaning tower of Pisa. Hotel was quite easy to find and all members of staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel is dated but I think the price you pay reflects this. The rooms were an ok size, very tall ceilings and clean enough. Bedding and towels were all lovely and fresh. I really enjoyed the breakfast we received a basket which included a bun and croissant each then there was ham, cheese, tomatoes, jams, cereal, yoghurt, coffee, tea orange and water. If you aren't to fussy and go with an open mind you will be ok.
