Great location, but noisy

Great location, only a short walk to the tower. However our room was right by reception and it was very noisy. We didn't get much sleep, but were only there for one night so it wasn't too bad.

Great location and lovely building. Friendly and helpful receptionist. The room was very basic and a bit shabby but the sheets were clean. Bathroom located down the corridor which wasn’t ideal, but it was a bargain price for the location.

Great room, great price,high walk ability score!

We stayed in Pisa one day and this hotel was the perfect spot. 20 min walk from the train station, and 5 minute walk to the tower. Room had great character, was clean and comfy and when we get home we are going to look for their towels.

Nice traditional room with private bathroom

We had a triple room with a double bed and one single. Nice and clean big room with a traditional Italian decor, includes a sofa and private bathroom which seems to be hard to find at this price range in Pisa. Filter Cafe opposite hotel offers excellent breakfast with discount for guests staying at hotel. Close to the Leaning Tower, 6/7 minutes walk. Only issue we had were the mosquitoes.

Uncomfortably HOT!!

The overall hotel was nice, but it was unbeilevably hot and uncomfortable. The hotel had no AC and it was close to 95 degrees. The window had to be left open and there were people talking and partying outside until 0130, I could hear them through my ear plugs. I woke up several times in a hot sweat. We even asked if there was a fan we could have and they had nothing. I would only recommend this hotel in the winter when it is cool outside. On the other hand, the staff was nice and very helpful.

Charmed in Pisa

The Hotel Galileo met and exceeded our expectations. What some people might call lacking in amenities, we feel the hotel more than made up for in charm and authentiscity! It's location is in excellent walking distance to a river walk along the Arno River, beautiful shopping areas, eateries, the train station and of course the Leaning Tower. The hotel does not provide breakfast but there is a really cool coffee shop across the street called Filter, that serves excellent coffee which compliments it's breakfast and lunch menu. We would definitely stay there again and would also recommend it

Central location at a bargain price.

The location of this hotel is excellent for all of the major tourist sites and only a 10 minute walk from the Pisa Centrale. The hotel isn't fancy by any means, but is very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful with recommending local restaurants and sites to see (other than the tower).

Good balance: location and price

The hotel location is amazing, you can walk everywhere. Nevertheless, if you arrive by car, it is located in a restricted area, but they can help you to arrange a temporal permit to drive in and park in front of it. Our room was huge for European standards :) ... all amenities necessary to spend a comfy night. Front desk lady was really nice and helpful. The only negative point was that we booked the room for 4 people, and apparently it was only for 3 people. But they were pretty helpful to solve the situation. Definitely have it it mind if I come back to Pisa.

Perfect small city hotel with top location

Super clean hotel with comfortable room. Best quality of service - lovely staff with perfect english, very very kind! Private bathroom, free fast wi fi in the room, hot water non stop, top location. Only 3-4min walk from the tower and 10-15min with public bus from airport. Just more then perfect for this price!

Close to tower

Reception hostess was very nice and welcoming. I booked a shared bathroom but it was private, just not in the room. But there was a sink in the room. Close to leaning tower, a straight shot down the street. Arno river down the street in opposite direction. Coffee place right across the street, as well as plenty of restaurants and coffee places further along. Hallway echoes! I wasn't disturbed, I sure hope I didn't disturb anyone, as the keys when opening the doors were very loud.

Hotel close to pisa tower.

Staff does not speak english and they don't have 24 hour services. No AC, no elevator and beds are not comfertable . I would not recommend it .

Noisy hotel in a decent location.

The family that owned this hotel were lovely. Unfortunately the hotel was next to an extremely noisy road which had people shouting out every night to the early hours of the morning. Also the rooms were right next to the reception desk which meant you could hear everyone coming and going throughout the whole night. The fanlight above the door let copious amounts of light flood the room right through the night. Stayed 4 nights and didn't get a decent night sleep. This hotel is in a great location near to the tower but would spend a little extra and go elsewhere.

Gotta love those tiny elevators!

Parking in the immediate area is not allowed but we easily found a spot about 200 meters away. The reception area is up one level from the street but an elevator gets you to the second floor reception area. Our room was up one floor from there. Bed was comfortably firm. Clean and very friendly.

Very authentic property in the heart of the city

Such a cool and traditional property. In the heart of the city but yet quiet at night. Close to the Tower and lots of great cafes and restaurants. We will be back. Thanks to the helpful staff.

Absolute NO-GO

The building is old, but the rooms are not without charm. The rooms are clean and the hotel itself is located close to coffee places, restaurants and atractions. Other than that this was the worst hotel experience I can think of. It is one thing that the shower and toilette were not functioning (shower always turning hot and cold by itself and toilette not flushing), the small heater for this huge and cold room (weather was also cold) was in a bad condition. Furthermore there is no elevator and there are some good steps to reach the first floor, so if you are taking some heavy bags you might find it difficult to take them up to your room (nobody will help you with them either). The wi-fi signal was low to non-existant in the room. What was really beyond imagination, was the unfriendly guest treatment. After the already unpleasant first night due to the described aspects above, the first thing (no "good morning" or "do you have a moment of time") we were met with when steping out of our room in the morning was the mother of the owner barking at us in italian and the owner lecturing us about a misunderstanding regarding the check-in time. Never in my life have I come across such unprofessional guest treatment! This italian "1- star hotel", which can not be considered more than a hostel is an absolute NO-GO.
