We have stayed twice at this hotel. This time was prior to my daughters wedding . The whole experience with this hotel was second to non. I booked several villas/apartments for wedding guests. I had to swap,and change prior to arrival several times but the service and co operation with the manager and staff was exemplary. We stayed in a villa set around the pool area. It was huge and very comfortable. All the apartments were exceptionally large and well stocked with kitchen necessities. The staff were very at tentative and nothing was too much trouble . Our whole party was looked after as if we were royalty. The hotel is set a few minutes walk from the beach and amenities and there is a large supermarket a stones throw from the hotel. The only negative thing I have to say is there is a busy road to cross to get to the centre

This place is within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, pharmacies, markets, etc. There's a scooter rental at the hotel. We heard you could get nicer accommodation nearby for the same price, and the place apparently has come under new management. We were one of only three other occupied rooms at the time, so it was very quiet. The staff went above and beyond and were very sweet. There's a Thai and Western breakfast offered in the mornings. Tip - the actual suites, which are cheaper than the villas, are much nicer rooms. We ended up switching to a suite because my father wanted colder water in the shower, and we wished we had just booked in a suite originally instead of the villa.

We stayed here for a week and literally had the whole place to ourselves. The hotel is currently changing names (Pela) and ownership and will soon be very busy. We had a villa, just like our own little house by the pool. Spotlessly clean and well equipped although the resort as a whole does need a little TLC to get it back to how it should be. Just minor things like repainting the roof tiles and sprucing up the pool bar area. This is a very small, cosy and friendly resort where the staff are friendly and helpful. The new manager Jamnong and his assistant could not have been more friendly and helpful. They could not do enough for us and they are a huge asset to the new owners. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the main street of restaurants and also to the beach. We loved it and would happily return. Sadly however the new owners seem to have increased prices quite significantly and to be honest are pricing themselves out of the market. Such a shame as we would have returned had the prices remained within range of what we paid this time. We had a fantastic time here and hope to return one day.

We were staying in a condo across the street from the Royal Embassy Resort & Spa and wandered in for breakfast 3 days in a row, also picking up take-away for the kids sleeping in. They had a variety of breakfasts--Thai, American and English, and numerous lite options. The lattes were of inconsistent quality, depending on who made them. When they were good, they were unbelievable, the best we've ever tasted, and we're from Starbucks hometown! The view while sitting in the restaurant with the windows wide open, sometimes watching the torrential rain overflowing the pools and walkways, was quite exotic, wonderfully out of our normal lifestyle. The manager, whose name I have somewhere in a stack of papers, was very social and informative. A very friendly, nice guy. If we come back again, we will stay at this resort and I'd recommend it to friends

We stayed here for 11 nights from 3rd October to 14th October. Our time here was very pleasant from the moment we arrived to the time we left. I cannot remember the managers name but he treated all of us with great courtesy and as if we were a part of his family. The price of the accomodation was also very reasonably priced. Email them for a quote. The resort is around 10-15 minutes north of Patong and a taxi or Tuk Tuk was 400 baht (around $16) each way. Some drivers asked 500 baht ($20) but accept 400 baht without much fuss. Nothing much you can do about the cost. Most things outside Patong require a taxi or Tuk Tuk anyway. The office can call one for you if you don't want to do it yourself. We had two x two bedroom apartments and both are very spacious and much like a small unit. Full appliances and cupboard space with a Big C supermarket only a 10 minute walk away. Pools are kept clean and maintained with lovely gardens. Keep an eye out for little creatures. We saw a small lizard, a rather large snail and centipede and pretty butterflies. Our children were always on the look out to see what else they could find. Nothing was a problem for the staff. We had an instance where my mum was sick for about four days. This was as a result of something she ate in Patong at a restaurant. The staff at the resort were very concerned and when my wife and I (and our children) were out on day trips, they kept an eye on her to make sure she was ok. All in all, this is a very nice place, with nice staff and a lovely outlook. We would stay here again no problem. A big mention to Wud who always seemed to be around to take us to Kamala beach or the shops on his motorbike and this was quite enjoyable. He also ensured mum was ok. He used his own personal car to take her to the local doctor at no cost. It's these small things that make a big difference. You don't get that at large hotels or resorts. Kamala is one of the more quit places on the Phuket island not far from Patong with its noise and crowds of partying people. Kamala has no nightclubs but instead nice restaurants and a welcoming beach. If you then make your choice for Royal Embassy Resort and Spa as your accommodation, you have found a well-maintained, small, boutique hotel with super supportive staff. You can stay in one of the 5 villas or i one of 14 apartments. There are direct access to one of 2 pools. One for children and one with built-in jacuzzi for adults. The sauna is used as storage-room ;-) and the beach is a 10 minuts walk away unless you use the tub-tuk service offered by the smiling and friendly staff.

The resort and apartment (we had a 2 bedroom apartment) were excellent. The resort is clean and relatively quiet (we were there in July/ August end rain season) and has very nice staff. We enjoyed our stay very much!

I am currently on a month-long trip with several friends exploring Southeast Asia. We have stayed in small villages and big cities, and we've been in some great places and some not-so-great ones. This was absolutely the worst. First: the units were decent and the grounds and fairly pretty. The pool is nice and the apartments are relatively clean. That ends the nice things I'll say about this place. We saw before we stayed that management had recently changed hands and people were worried the place was going to go downhill. That has absolutely happened. Any good review you read from this place definitely was written before these new guys took over, so please do not rely on older reviews to justify staying here. Our experience: we arrived at night and went right to our rooms. In the morning, we awoke to find there had been some unrest throughout the country following a political referendum, so we decided to stay around our hotel. We went to the pool and wanted a few drinks, but we were told there would be no bartender on the premises that day. No big deal. We grabbed some food from the hotel restaurant (average, at best, although it seems the food used to be quite good there) and walked to town to grab a few drinks to bring them back. We spent the day at the pool, which was pleasant but a little eerie, as we seemed to be the only guests at the hotel. Later that day, we tried to go to the hotel restaurant for dinner which was supposed to be open until 10pm, but it wasn't. In fact, we found that NO STAFF was present at the hotel lobby and no one was reachable by phone. For about five hours, we had no idea if any staff would be present at the hotel overnight. Until someone came back that night to explain that the day shift ends at 5 and the "night person" doesn't come until later, we were totally alone at this hotel. The next morning, the manager (who got in from Bangkok and doesn't seem to be there much) was not very concerned about any of this. When we explained it was unnerving to be left alone at a hotel with no staff members, especially after the violence that had taken place around the country that day, he simply said "oh, okay sorry." It was very difficult to communicate with the manager or any of the other staff members. My friends and I require very little attention or maintenance when we stay somewhere, but the level of inaccessibility of the staff or management of this place was infuriating. No one was ever there to answer a question or give a pool towel (or at least just tell us where they were!) or anything. The "pool bar" might as well not exist because I'm pretty sure there actually is no bartender. The restaurant is ehh and is open for breakfast and lunch. The location is okay, as it is a pretty close walk to the beach, but there's nothing immediately around the hotel besides a very run down market across the street. There are plenty of better options in Phuket. Find them. Don't come here.

We travelled as a family of 5 in June 2016. Hotel was well-kept and clean, with nice rooms. We had a two bedroom suite - ktichen was decently stocked, but just enough for 4 people. The staff were friendly and helped us find transportation to various things we wanted to see, etc.. there is a hotel tuk-tuk that will drive you anywhere in Kamala, e.g., the beach, but cannot go outside Kamala town. Hotel itself is in a convenient location and pretty quiet - we were there during Ramadan, so there were prayers at 5am every morning that we could hear even through the AC, etc... The pools are convenient, but water is really a bit too warm to be comfortable. When we went, the owner (Phil, who was lovely) was about to sell the hotel to a management group in Bangkok. The first two days we were under Phil, the last two under this new management group. So, the staff was at a minimum, the kitchen frequently was out of one ingredient or other for breakfast, and the new management did not get a credit card machine in time, so we had to pay our bill in cash (very inconvenient!) Remains to be seen how the new owners will manage the place, but for all who relied on prior reviews, be aware that Phil is no longer the owner.

We booked this resort for our anniversary vacation for a week stay and we really enjoyed the ambiance of this resort, quiet, calm and peaceful and the pool (especially the kids pool which our daughter really enjoyed ). Big clean rooms and very friendly, attentive staffs. We also had a free drop and pick up to kamala beach for dinner and nearby super market (big C). Nice and yummy breakfast and lunch with good varieties.(Thanks to the Chef). They can even arrange all tours and book Taxi to all attractions. We had a good time and fun. Totally a very big thumbs up for this beautiful resort.
