Sira Grande Hotel

We stayed here for two nights to enjoy the shopping in Jungceylon and visit the zoo in Bangla Road. The hotel was really cheap at a little over 1000 baht a night including breakfast. We got a comfortable room with a good bathroom and a nice view looking across to the hills at the back. The bed was soft enough and the room was quiet, despite being on the 8th floor right n ext to the pool. An ample breakfast was included. The location is perfect, being very close to the zoo and a couple of minutes walk to Jungceylon. There is also a really good night market for street food just a minute away. The only negative is that the aircon is really strange. It works sometimes, but other times has no effect at all and doesn't blow cool air. I was cooking myself in bed one night until at about 2 am, it suddenly started to work.

Checking in was the low light of the stay. The Hotel required a 3000 baht cash deposit, refusing to take credit card deposit but took one of our passports in lieu of us not having been to the bank yet. Still having just arrived, we were in good spirits & got over that pretty quick. I would offer the hotel the feedback that a credit card swipe for tired travellers is much more convenient than getting cash. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfy. We had 8 nights in 2 rooms with 3 of us in each room. TV, small fridge, hotel safe for the passports, lots of power points & a good powerful air conditioner to take the sting out of the hot Phuket climate. The hotel is situated off a small street close to the Bangala Boxing Stadium so Muay Thai is right on your door step. For anyone who has been to Patong - ‘Tonight! Tonight! You know boxing you know Thailand’ - if you’re going there you’ll soon know what I mean. Breakfast was included in the stay, it wasn’t too bad. Nothing amazing, but filled the hole for taking on the day. Omelettes were the best I reckon. It’s only a 4 minute walk to the Jungceylon Mall which has Patong’s best range of quality shopping, 8 minute walk to the craziness of Bangala Road Walking St - so you’re right in the action with all Patong has to offer. The 2nd best bit for me of the Sira Grande is their awesome rooftop pool on level 8. Sure the chlorine was a bit on the brutal side, but the infinity pool, bar and small gym and lounges offered an awesome relaxing respite from the busyness of the city. It also offers a killer view of the city & Patong beach. The best bit, like most of Phuket, are the awesome staff. At the pool bar Anas, Joi and the team looked after us all the whole stay & were super nice to us. If you want a good value spot in the thick of the action, Sira Grande is well worth a look.

Stayed 10 nights at this hotel. Pros and cons: - The hotel is quite old, pictures doesn’t match. - Aircondition at the room was very poor, room was quite hot. Sheets and towels were old and dirty. We had to change room because aircondition didn’t worked and the room was very hot. Aircondition was also very noisy. - I think there is much better hotels in Patong at same price. Allthough hotel was ok but too expensive for this quality. + breakfast was ok + wifi was pretty good. + staff was extremely friendly and fun, extrapoints for that :)

My husband and I traveled with our friends, and we stayed at Sira Grande for 5 nights. We could not find any fault with the hotel. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean, and we received complimentary water, coffee, tea and sugar everyday. High quality linen, and towels. The bathrooms were squeeky clean, and enough double ply toiletpaper supplied. Very close to everything. Patong beach, Bangla Road, Jungceylon Shopping Centre, and the famous food night market. Everything within walking distance. Highly recommended. This is the second time we stayed at Sira Grande and we will return every year.

We stayed in the Sira Grande for 10 nights in peak season and managed to get a good deal considering the time of year. The hotel is located just behind the fish market and is only a couple of minutes’ walk to the Jungceylon shopping centre and a 5 minute walk to the madness of Bangla Road, but is further enough away to get a good night sleep. The roof top swimming pool and happy hour was a bonus and it was nice to watch the sun go down whilst sipping a cold bottle of Chang. Overall the hotel was good value for money especially as it was peak season, but at other times of the year there is so much choice you could do better to look at the other hotels in the same street!

Second week on our trip and by far the worst hotel we have EVER stayed in Food average service if any english understanding poor Booked through The only good thing its 2 blocks from Bangler Road

A very reasonably priced decent hotel. I stayed here for 5 nights with a friend whilst visiting Patong after finding it on It was about a mile from the beach, literally a straight line out of the hotel via Bangla Road (Phuket’s version of koh san road). The facilities were nice, clean, comfy bed, the room had air con and was decorated to acceptable standard...the room had standard wear & tear from previous guests such as scuff marks on the walls from suitcases/bags but nothing to raise eyebrows over. The pool area was small, not enough seats for the amount of guests that could stay at the hotel, hence our daily beach visits. The gym area is poor, but to be fair who goes on holiday to work out?! The view isn’t the best due to the distance from the beach so if that’s a deal breaker I’d advoid this place. Patong Beach is lovely so no issues there, the Thai people are clamping now on litter and smoking. There are designated areas for smoking with on the spot fines issued if breached, the same with dropping litter.

A good thing about this hotel when we stayed here was the location. Our bathroom flooded the first night due to a stopped up drain. Then we had to deal with a leaky sink the whole time we stayed. We asked (nicely) the front desk to take a look at the sink but it still leaked. The housekeeper forgot to bring up shower gel one night so we had to go down to ask for some. The rooftop pool and bar was really cool and we had a nice view. The gym is ok for what it is. There was a little shop walking distance from the hotel that did laundry for 50 baht/kg. Wasn't bad and they folded everything which was nice.

My partner and I stayed here for three nights and were very comfortable and happy at Sira Grande. Our room had a king bed and a single bed which was good because we could spread out. Very modern bathroom and the hotel provided us with free water daily also. Very nice pool with comfortable lounges and pretty good gym equipment also. Awesome location, would definitely stay again.

I visited with my daughter for a holiday. The location (at least city-side) is right beside a fish market so beware of the stinky balcony time! Linen is touch n go, lots of stains but (we hoped) still clean. Staff in hotel try their hardest but struggled with basic English. We had better luck with slightly more complex issues elsewhere (like arranging a sim card refill, ask at the nextdoor hotel ...or a variation to the menu, its not going to happen). In general the food was not great to be honest. I would have rated the hotel a little higher because of the pool staff... but we had a few issues. The final bill contained a number of 'unsigned' items. When confronted, bar staff were called down who stated "we remember you ordered that" even though we know did not. It was very uncomfortable, but as the charge was relatively small, we paid to make peace. Our main very horrible experience was that a few days before we left, we booked a hotel-airport transfer at reception which turned out to be terrible. First the driver picked up the wrong people and had to return half an hour later to collect us. Then he kept using facebook en route. I asked him to stop and he got very hostile with us. I approached the hotel later to complain but they appear not to be interested in dealing with this. A number of emails went back and forth where they first blamed us for booking independently, despite having proof of booking through the hotel. Since then they have been radio silent. For a budget hotel they are ..umm...ok I guess. But take care with reliability!
