Large and clean room, friendly and helpful staffs. The location is also good, within walking distance to the sea and a lot of stores. The only problem is the noise. We can hear the other room clearly and have to wake up early because of the noise from upgade working nearby
Used this hotel for the last night before retuning to the UK. Resort? A multitude of buildings on a hillside. Yes there is a spar not used so can't comment. Glad it was only one night the hotel was average a little TLC needed in places. Kids shouting and crying most of the night. Slow internet but free if you could get on. Had a look around the maze of corridors got up to the roof top pool about 19:30 (bare in mind the pool closes at 19:00) and found it packed with Chinese guests. On the edge of the pool clearly signed in several languages that it was closed due to strong chemicals being added, your normal pool cleaning presumably. But this had no effect on the guests in the pool although the chems may have. In the nearby restaurant management looked on without regard. Over the past fortnight i have noticed how some far eastern nation can not follow basic instructions either written or verbal it is amazing. Would I recommend No spend a bit more out of town or even near the airport.
Cheat.....they try to extract money from you at every possible event.... charged extra for sea view room but there was not any sea view, also charged for breakfast and did not provide breakfast on last day of my stay....for the in room service as well they charged me extra.... The room ambience was not pleasant either...... there was lizard on the bed.... They did not clean the room even after request.... Check in was very late as well.... I got the room at 4pm on first day..... The staff was not helpful at all.... upon arguing with them for the last day breakfast the staff just ignored me and refused to answer...after 30 min of discussion, one of the staff member raised voice and came to hit me (this got recorded in CCTV and my phone too)..... Never ever recommend to stay here ......

I reserved a two night stay but was unable to keep the reservation upon arrival due to the extremely unsatisfactory accommodation. It was an implied term of my reservation that the accommodation provided would be of a standard of cleanliness and quality reasonably to be expected from an acclaimed 4-star hotel. However, this was not the case; the hotel did not fulfill that which was advertised. I was shockingly disappointed and rather unimpressed. The reception staff was not welcoming, in addition to the hotel failing to provide fluent English speaking personnel or staff at least willing to try to communicate with a non-native in English. Needless to say, communication was very difficult. The WiFi access, which is vital to a foreign business traveller as myself, was quite poor and completely ceased to exist in several areas of the resort. My terrace view of the beach was occupied with birds and their droppings. The room was not adequately cleaned, and the hotel, overall, requires some maintenance. The walls were thin providing little privacy. The amenities were insufficient with minimal toiletries. The reception staff did not honor my requests and were not sympathetic towards my expressed issues. Upon deciding that the hotel stay was unbearable for me, the staff was unprofessional, refusing to call me a cab so that I may leave the hotel. I am greatly disappointed with this experience. This justifies some compensation from hotel management. I will report this matter to the Better Business Bureau if I do not see prompt efforts to resolve the situation and refund my account. Best Regards, Mr. Darrel Wharton
Just returned from 10 days at Sea Sun Sand. It was average for a few reasons. 1. We had a pool access room. Bed was hard as a rock and we were woken at all hours of the night due to the thin walls. You could hear everything next door, conversations, door shutting etc. Our next door neighbours smoked in their room every night and it stunk our room out. I called reception on multiple occasions over consecutive nights but nothing was done. 2. Breakfast was crap. Doesn't really cater to westerners. No hash browns, baked beans etc.. just a lot of curries and rice. Every time we went to get salad it had fruit flies all over it. 3. It is cheap but for the price you pay in tuk tuks to get to main part of Patong it ends up being more expensive and it's too far to walk every day. 4. We have been to Patong plenty of times now and each time we stay somewhere different but we definitely won't stay here again.
I don't think I have chosen a "bad" accommodation before and the streak continues (though I hope I didn't just cursed myself). Sea Sun Sand Resort (Patong) was (almost) everything I could have asked for to complete an awesome birthday trip. I remembered first arriving at the main entrance thinking to myself, damn, what a small resort and there goes my birthday. Well, to my surprise (and subsequent horror - I'll explain later) Sea Sun Sand Resort, is deceptively huge! Where it lacks in grandeur it sure makes up for comfort and size. My friends and I booked different rooms, they had the deluxe pool access rooms whilst I reserved the seaview jacuzzi room. It took us 7mins to get from the lobby to their rooms (which were all side by side - thanks!). And thus, my horror (as indicated earlier) when I was told my unit required me to take another 7 mins to get to (2 lifts and across the pool). BUT, it was well worth it. The room was SPACIOUS that you could have a small house party in it. The view, whilst not quite the middle of Patong Beach, was awesome and unblocked. The rooms can get quite cold but a simple adjustment of the air-con will do just fine. The bed was oh so comfy and perfect after a long day of adventure. Toilets complete with bath tub and rain shower, hot water and usual soap and shampoo. The balcony overlooks Patong area and parts of Patong Beach (though you would need to stand at an angle for a full view). The jacuzzi is comfortable enough for 2 pax though I wasn't sure if it was my jacuzzi or that's how jacuzzi works but from time to time, the water just squirts jets of water out like a fountain (fun if you are aiming at someone). Over at my friends' rooms, it was a connecting room to one of the pools (I think they have 3 pools in total) and there usually isn't anyone there (maybe it was low season). This room access pool over looks Patong area as well and fantastic for chilling (and easy access to rooms). Service, needless to say, was good. Anything less would have been shockingly disappointing and un-Thai like (though some of the hotel tuk tuk drivers were a little annoying. Dude called us silly for taking a big van to Jungceylon... to the dude.. that cost us less than 200baht as compared to the 300baht you were charging for somewhere nearby). Nearby amenities... well there is a couple of massage areas next door or nearby. The massages were okay. Thankfully, Sea Sun Sand is just about 10 to 15 mins walk from Healthland Spa Phuket (which is one of the best massage places in Thailand I have tried). It is also about 5 to 7 mins walk from Patong Beach (the quiet side of Patong Beach). Overall, loved the resort (definitely great for couples) and would like to return again!
The rooms of this resort were pretty average. We had stayed in deluxe category room (I don't know if it's a Base category) with a sea view. It had a balcony from where a small (Infact tiny) view of the sea was seen 🙄 The hotel has swimming pool on top and a restaurant on top with excellent view... Food from the buffet was average, but the Thai Dishes which we ordered for dinner were awesome. Full one side of the hotel is covered with well planted plants lots of orchids, which creates good ambience. But to specify there was some specific kind of smell though out the hotel for all the three days... 😬 The hotel is located pretty far from the market place / patong street and the taxi is pretty expensive. Ooh ya and by any chance if you carry the laundry bag for dirty clothes with you, they would make sure you pay 100 bhat or return the bag at the reception in front of all the guests... I would say check out more hotel options and think twice before booking this hotel.
It is located very near to Patong beach and offers great sea view bed rooms. That's the best part of it. When you enter the hotel, it doesn't seem like a 4 star hotel. But when you cross various blocks to reach your room, the ambiance says it all. Its in a very peaceful location. Indian food was not at all tasty, which needs to be upgraded. It also has sea view restaurant and night view and sunset is just awesome. Rooms are pretty big and clean.
We spend 5 days during our honeymoon. I found this hotel to be in need of desparate maintenance. Weathered platform was standing around on the pool deck. I guess this is the platform they advertise to host romantic dinner for 2. After seeing that, we changed our mind. Food was good but was running out of coffee on a continuous base during the morning. As the restaurant was open, you sit sweating during breakfast time already. Not a good way to start the day. Friday night Seafood Buffet was great and well priced. Live entertainment made it a good way to spend the evening away from the city buzz. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurant supervisor was great. Noticed me looking at the historic pictures and was eager to tell the history of it all.
We upgraded to a De Lux room with sea view. First impression of reception is really 3 star but the staff is very helpful and check in was quick and easy. We stayed in Block A and had a very good view of city and sea, as well as a pool at the level below. The walls are just very thin and you can hear everything going on next door. Our room however was very clean and a decent size. The pool area was fantastic with also great views of the city and sea. They also make a decent cocktail.
