First ..... this place is beautiful when you walk in, and has the best breakfast from the 5 different places we stayed at. But don't expect this place to be beach side , all exits go into a busy street with lots going on, which can be a plus for quick shopping but we expected more secluded area . But here are the problems we experienced at sawasdee. First night we stayed at the garden room, It had a weird smell and for the price felt small and tight. But that's not something I would complain about normally. WE FOUND TWO PAIRS OFEMS UNDERWEAR by the bed . Now that's gross!!!! So we moved into a suite and paid to upgrade the price difference is huge but we wanted a really nice stay.... So after settling in again... we woke up to the roof leaking on us .... and our stuff! We let the office know of the leak problem, and they said they will check it out , we left to explore and came back very late to be told they can't fix the leak and the only option we have is moving again... with no conpensation of any sort for all the issues and a seemingly high end place. It was late and we really didn't want to move within the same place for the third time .. every night we moved basically .. so we slept and went In first thing to see what could be done. They would not budge on any discount or refund but at least agreed to give money back for the next 6 nights we would not be staying there . Day 20 no refund to be seen. Hoping they come through on their word.

The hotel grounds felt like a calm, serene oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the Kata Beach area. The grounds were well maintained and staff consistently friendly and willing to help with any questions. I would definitely come back to stay again. It is a hidden gem for sure!

This was my second stay in this hotel and everything was as good as 6 years ago. Very nice hotel, pool area. Breakfast could be better but it is good if you compare with other hotels in this area.

From the entrance of the hotel is visually pleasing. You walk in and its like a jungle theme and the scent they use inside is pleasant. Once we got in our room we noticed it was very tiny. We had 2x big bags and kept tripping over them. The bed was ok and had a mosquito net which we needed to make use of. The swimming pool was very dirty with rocks, sand and trash in it. It was the same trash in the same area for the 2x days we were there. Rooms were worn out a bit but wasnt much of a concern since we just needed somewhere to sleep. We had a tour and the hotel staff was made aware of it and printed out a nice reminder for us and got the details of when to be up and such. The shuttle to the beach area is about a 3 minute ride only and was on time which is nice as the waiting area to get picked up from the beach is a busy parking lot.

For starters the 1st time we booked we had issues. Promised our next visit would be much improved. Well here we are 2nd visit and if anything its much worst. We didnt book the nicer room this time and just went with the cheaper room.. Its very small and if you have luggage prepare to be tripping over it all. Very very tiny room and we are a skinny couple.. 140lbs and 100lbs.. Bed mattress I would assume is made of solid concrete or atleast my back did. In the shower if you look up at the rainfall shower head you may even see a power cord for the lights right next to the plumbing... Room was overall very dirty, small and unsafe. Pool area was dirty and wouldnt want to swim. Dirt and rocks all inside the pool. Nice location however and once you walk into the decrepit old resort you are hit with a nice scent atleast.. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Truly a hidden gem. This hotel is nestled a couple blocks off of the main beach front road and is centrally located with most local activities within walking distance. The hotel itself features one main pool with a swim up bar, an air conditioned library bungalow, an excellent restaurant, a fantastic spa, and (for those who book a delux room) an additional private pool. It is also worth noting that the staff consistently treates the grounds with citronella and other mosquito repellents, which allows guests to lounge about the premises without those bothersome pests. If I had to pick three highlights I would list the food, which deliciously rivaled any that could be found in town, the decor / overall ambiance of this jungle oasis, and the staff, who were kind and attentive to any inquiry. During check in, the staff even noted my birth date and a few days later, on that date, they surprised me with cake, singing, and birthday well wishes. The only drawback to this hotel is that the room and grounds are both so beautifully comfortable that I found it difficult to choose one or the other as the best place to relax after a day exploring the town.

I really enjoyed my stay at sawasdee hotel! The gardens around the hotel were beautiful and the pool was lovely and clean! The burning incense brought a deeper sense of calmness to the hotel. The hotel had a free shuttle to the beach which was helpful. They suggested the travel agency right across the street for tours and packages- but I found them quite expensive. So we walked around and found better deals at other travel agencies stores.of course we bargained and tried to get the best price. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

its a wonderful hotel, fountanis, plants, the pool is awesome.. big bathroom, and comfortable room, small but super comfortable.....

This place is absolutely amazing! Not enough time spent there. From the moment you step in to the premises you are welcomed with a beautiful aroma that is everywhere you go. The staff is excellent and friendly. Upon arrival to check in you are received with complimentary drinks, served on a silver platter and iced. A wet cloth also brought to you on this platter which you will need in the humid heat of Phuket. The pool and the walk ways of the hotel are astonishingly beautiful so much greenery and water around you. Everywhere you turn is just another beautiful thing to see. They offer a lot of complimentary goodies including and very generously of them to offer mosquito repellent and balm I case they bite, which they will and there are a lot of. This is the only thing that is uncomfortable "the Mosquitos" but you can't away from them no matter where you go on the island so just be sure to carry repellent with you and apply it even before you step out of the plane. Their complimentary breakfast was to die for. Offered in a buffet style there are so many things to choose from and everything delicious. I would most certainly book this hotel again and would highly recommend it to friends and family, whom I've already shared pictures with and agree that the place looks beyond amazing, it very much is! Thank You Sawasdee Village Resort for making our experience with you a wonderful one. Excellent hospitality!

Our stay was exceptional from beginning to end..the room--as has been noted before--was small but well appointed. The pool was gorgeous, the hotel decor was beautiful, the restaurant served a complete breakfast buffet and well-prepared delicious dinners. The staff were all very gracious and friendly. The beach was 2 1/2 min. away by the hourly hotel beach bus--and a 10 min. walk otherwise. The hotel was fairly centrally located in Kata Beach to shopping and other restaurants. Make sure that you check out the hotel taxi service before making local tour arrangements--especially when visiting Wat Chelong and the Big Buddha.

wonderful surroundings: beautiful lush gardens, art work., gorgeous water features and good food at hotel restaurant. very helpful staff. Phuket island itself is heavily commercialized, and this hotel is a very nice tranquil escape. Rooms are small for American standards, but have all the amenities, including robes, and slippers. Mosquitos are a problem, so bring lots of really good repellant yourself.

This hotel is really quite wonderful. We stayed (my girl "friend" and I) for 5 days and had a fantastic time. The rooms are great and very clean, the grounds of the property are very (VERY) lush with greenery and koi ponds, and the overall atmosphere in the hotel is really calm. The restaurant (and free breakfasts) was also really top (and the spa...THE SPA!) As with all things, nothing is perfect. The surrounding area is a bit seedy, but that can be expected in Phuket. Likewise, some of the drivers for the hotel seem to have an agreement with some of the tourist sites and push really hard for you to "go see the jewelry factory" or "eat at this restaurant." It's never truly awkward as a "no thank you" was enough, but still...it's also a bit of a walk to the beach, but they do provide hourly free bus trips to Kata beach...so this is only a problem if you wanted to walk around at night or in the evening on the beach. Only other 'complaint' was that like many other reviews, the hotel doesn't seem to understand billing [...]correctly. They tried to have me pay a second time when it was clear I had already paid. Again, after a few pictures of bank statements and reassurances things were fine, but it was a definite moment of non-wonderfulness.That was it though. This place is really great and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. If you go, you MUST take advantage of their in house spa. It's beautiful and well run. If you're looking for a relaxing hotel to stay at in Phuket, this is definitely a top choice.
