Note there aren't many things to do other than relaxing at the pool. Breakfast wasn't satisfactory at all, I believe there are a number of imrpovement areas in terms of food quality, taste, selection, etc. Good access to beach, also there are several local restaurants right beside the resort which are worth trying. But they don't seem to be cheap if compared to local prices. Basically, Phuket itself is not cheap, I'd think.

This was our 3rd visit at this super hotel, each time selecting the Club option. I can only praise the people working in the Club area: Mo, Hana, Toon, Eak, Gio and everyone else is just the best. You have made our vacation super again and we already look forward to returning! The hotel is a beautiful place and I recommend it warmly. Please note, however, it is for people looking for tranquility, as there is not much to do in the evenings. Two suggestions for improvement: while I appreciate that the Christmas season is the high season, there should be enough sun beds. I had to get up early to secure one for the day. The other nuisances that since our first visit of April the Resort Shuttle Bus schedule and routes have been altered, offering a ride to and from the entrance of the Resort only a few times in the afternoon. While it is probably to boost business inside the Resort, I have found it to be a very unfriendly decision. The entrance is in a 15 minute walking distance but given the humidity level, at an older age it may be a challenge and a definite unpleasantness.

We are visiting as a family with 2 kids (6&7 yo) and we spent 4 nights at this resort. Likes: - Nice overall setup, spacious and not crowded - Day bed for the kids is fabulous, like they have their own little corner - Pool is great with many sunbeds. But I think one need to reserve one before breakfast. On day 1, I went there around 10ish, there are only 2 left. the waterslide for kids is fun! but at times they dont have enough of those blue mat for you to sit on and slide. - its proximity to the beach, you can just simply walk a few steps from the pool to the beach - beach is clean & wave not too strong (Dec). My kids cant swim yet but they can still safely play at the shallow end. - Along the beach, there are lots of restaurants (cheaper than hotel options), some small shops selling fruits/ necessities, beach toys, snack/drinks, massage stalls (300B per hr), lady helping girls to do briads, pancakes stall, fish bar (little fish eating your deadskin on the foot), some swings for kids to play. And there is also a muay thai ring and someone giving out muay thai session (800B/hr for man; cheaper for ladies & kids). We love all these little activities that you can do along the beach a lot and the cheaper options. - We went out to Boat Avenue (5mins ride) for a super market and many other dining options. 200B to take taxi from hotel and 150B a tuk tuk back to hotel. - We bought 5000B food & drink credits in advanced upon check in which would allow you to enjoy 15% discount on the food & drinks. We spent them on 2 dinners and 1 light lunch at the hotel restaurants. - Location is ~30mins from airport but very far for the day we joined a local tour to visit Koh Racha/ Coral Island (picked up time was 7am!) Dislikes - the kids club looks really outdated and not attactive to my kids. they didnt want to spend any time there. - No spa service on site. Only a massage place which the beds are setup one next to another (was told so). I didn't know about this when making reservation. I thought all thai decent resorts would definitely have one. - Our room is located at the Laguna wing and the view is great too. But our room is the 2nd last at the end of a long hallway. So it required quite a bit of walking each time to/from the pool & beach. - breakfast choices are rather limited

Beautiful hotel, nice rooms, great pool, very good services ... and really awesome beach. My family enjoyed very much this hotel. The food in their restaurants are delicious. But you can also eat in restaurants on the beach just next to the hotel.

We had a truly pleasurable stay at this hotel as a family. We had a very warm welcome from Nok the Executive House Keeping. She is an asset to this hotel, as she understands service completely. We had club room so had breakfast at the club lounge and drinks in the evening there. Service was awesome and would like to make special mention of the following people Iron (fantastic waiter), Karen (Guest Relations, great service), Hana (Club Manager, who always entertained my five year old). It was my birthday and on the morning at breakfast I received a cake which was a really lovely surprise. There are other hotels in this area but this would be our preferred choice. This hotel gets a huge thumbs up from my family, would highly recommend and will certainly be returning.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 week.First given room was smelled of extreme humidity and we had to change our room cause we couldnt sleep. We had half board package , we used dinner and breakfast open buffet. In a week hotel has 2 times pasta buffet. You can only eat pasta..i think only pasta doesnt mean open buffet.and the other day From the morning they started to show us that we have lobster at dinner , when the dinner starts we were at the restaurant on time and they said that the lobster was finished we should have ordered before !!how come that lobster finishes at the beginning of the dinner.?and breakfast staff was unpolite not really willing to serve .also hotel pools were dirty.we pay too much for nothing.

Booked a week at this hotel on the recommendation of a friend. It’s an absolute gem, right on the beach. The staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you. We had a Voyager Club room with a sea view which was huge. The bathroom had a large shower and a sunken bath. We ate breakfast in the clubhouse and the main buffet breakfast restaurant. Both were very good but we usually opted for the restaurant as the choice was bigger. Tea and coffee or soft drinks could be had at the clubhouse all day. There was afternoon tea where the selection of cakes and sandwiches were plentiful and drinks and chef’s taster dishes in the early evening including any alcoholic drinks you wanted. The staff addressed you by name and are so friendly. The hotel was immaculately clean and tidy, lots of staff always working hard. Towels were available by the pools, also waiter service drinks and snacks. The concierge was very helpful suggesting restaurants in the area and organising taxis. Although the hotel was almost fully booked there was an air of tranquility and relaxation. Thoroughly value for money and would love to return soon.

This is a great resort.. We booked through Hotels.come and stayed for 6 nights during Xmas period. I shall write my experience under each categories below. 1) Airport Pickup/Drop - I had requested for airport pickup and Drop in a Camry car. I'm aware there were about 300THB expensive than the local taxi, but wanted a proper service for airport pick-up. The hotel mailed me and asked for my details promptly and got this arranged. We were welcomed by the Laguna group representative and our car was called for. We were given fresh towels and water in the car. It was a 30 mins drive to the resort. 2) Check-in - We were welcomed with great hospitality at the reception with a welcome drink and a small flower wrist band which was great. First thing we were asked is to take a seat in the reception area and we did not even go to the reception counter. This is a great way of welcoming the guest (that I've seen in other resorts as well). We arrived in an morning flight and reached the resort at 1000 while the check-in time was 1400. Since we had booked a Club room, we were immediately taken to the club lounge where we were offered Coffee, Juices and some snacks (bakery items from breakfast) as we have to pay for a full breakfast. We were told the room was getting ready and we were taken to our room in less than 30 mins. During that time, the checkin was done with the credit card pre authorisation and ID verification. A walkthrough of the property was given after checkin and we were taken to our room by the same representative (Snack). It was a great feel when people treated you like VIP and was aware that you had travelled for more than 13 hours to get there. 2) Hotel Room - The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was massive and very comfortable. There was a small resting area by the windows which was perfect my 4 year old to sleep. He loved that place. We also used it to sit and relax. The restrooms were great with good shower. The toiletries were overall great which were local produce and felt very natural. The AC was working perfectly and we didn't have to change anything. We had a Laguna facing room and it was perfectly calm and no noise at all. The compromise for that is a 5 mins walk from the main resort restaurant area to get to my room which was absolutely fine. Surprisingly, we did not encounter any mosquitos or insects in the room or even the property. The place was well maintained. 3) Housekeeping - Great and professional. They made little toys in the room everyday. When we were in the room during the day, we would just ask the room to be cleaned when we go for a quick lunch/snack and everything was done just great. 4) Wi-Fi - This is an important factor for some like me. Wifi was working fine and the speed was fine even for streaming like Youtube and also basic browsing. The connection stayed even through out the night time which I find unusual in hotels where the connections goes off after a time of inactivity. So good Wifi. 5) Restaurants - We got to try the Edgewater and Metzo. Edgewater was great. Great food, great attentive service even during the busiest time and no complaints. Metzo was just ok. The service was poor with less English understanding and food was just ok and less options for vegetarians like me. Hopefully other guests might have had different experiences. The prices were higher than other outside restaurants, but that is what you expect in a 5* resort. I did not have an issue (personally) with the pricing as I got 20% off on foods by purchasing 10,000THB voucher (pre paid) at checkin. 6) In-room dining - We tried this the most and they were very quick and professional. The food was yummy and was prepared just in the way we requested (as we were vegetarians). We loved it. 7) Breakfast - This is one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. Lots of choices including a counter for Omlette which was great. We loved the breakfast including the fresh fruits choices and fresh juices. The service was great. No complaints there. 8) Club Lounge - As we had chosen a Club room, we could have breakfast at the Club Lounge. The Lounge was great place with great Lagoon views. But we preferred to have the breakfast in the main restaurant as the choices were massive (based on previous reviews). The times we had breakfast were very early most of the days and hence did not encounter any waiting or Queuing. The evening tasting of cocktails/mocktail/wine and snacks were great at the lounge. I would highly recommend to book a Club room as it's great to try drinks and snacks from 1800-1930 everyday with different snack options everyday. Most of the days, vegetarian snacks were provided on our request which was great. Go for a Club room. 9) Beach - Great beach and not crowded (at the beach). Very warm water and suitable for kids and also older people. Fun place. We loved it. 10) Pools - Great pools which was large and sufficient even during the busy times. The slide was great and kids had so much fun there. Towels were provided by the pools and the changing rooms were closeby and cleaned regularly. The pool bar was also great. 11) Hotel reception ambience - As the pictures show, this reception area is one of the best in the resort. It's authentic wood look with so many portraits. They look great and the small water area with fishes were great for the kids to feed the fishes during breakfast time. There were restrooms everywhere which was great. 12) Location - This resort is one among the many other resorts in the Laguna compound. The location was well away from the crowded Patong beach area, at the same time, there were enough shops outside the resort for local shopping, thai maassage (try the Thai Carnation massage centre.. very authentic and cheaper when compared to the hotel's). There were shuttle buses to take you to any of the other resorts which was great. 13) Attitude and attentiveness of staffs - The best of all is how you get treated. Always with a smile and authentic Thai greeting (Swas di kaa). You will get used to it as everyone you see in the resort does this. You will get 100 greetings everyday from everyone you see. It's a great culture to experience. What I liked more than that is the staffs were not money minded and recommended good places outside to eat and also massage parlours. This is first time I'm encountering this. 14) Laguna Tours - There are representatives who arrange Laguna tours. We went for one 'Early Sunrise Phi Phi Island' trip which was great. They were also open about booking some of the trips by ourself which could be easier and cheaper. Loved their honesty. The tours could be expensive than the high street ones, but that is expected and you're on an elite tour group. Some negative points: 1) The Sunbed by the pool and beach were plenty, but always a struggle to get one if you arrive midday. It's not the resort's fault, but the guests' who leave their towels in the sunbed and leave the place. It would be great if a notice is put to return the towels and hence empty the sunbeds so that other guests can use it. We tried a couple of times and found it difficult to get a sunbed. 2) Smoking policy - This was a big pain as guests were smoking in the pool and open restaurant area with lots of kids playing around. This is not acceptable. Hotel should follow a strict smoking policy in the main resort area and have dedicated smoking areas to avoid the pain/difficulty.

What’s not to love - beachside, 5 star resort on a beautiful and interesting island. Rooms are very nice - could use a little more hot water. Breakfast is delicious with good variety. People were very pleasant. Pool is great for kids but swimming in the ocean is the best. Location is far from the craziness of the beach towns. Very nice for families.

If I were to review this resort based on the resort only, with its beautiful pools, beach, restaurants ,club 47 and excellent service (particular mention to Hana and Toon), then I'd say its perfect, 5 stars. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the resort is not really walking distance to anywhere (not with 2 kids anyway). When we did get a cab or shuttle into town, it is a rather strange (for want of a better word) town. I guess I'm used to places where the town consists of lots of restaurant options, little market stalls and places to wander around after dinner or to have an ice cream or a drink. Laguna does have some excellent restaurant options, but once dinner is over, there's nothing else to do other than head back to the resort. It is an absolutely beautiful resort if you want to stay in the resort and just relax. There are great little restaurants on the beach right next door and some good massage shacks as well. We used the restaurants to buy take away lunch each day and eat them back by the resort pools. The room, with a day bed for the children, was excellent. A great size room with everything you need. We had the Club 47 option with drinks available throughout the day, afternoon tea and cocktails. It was excellent and anyone who books Club 47 will not be disappointed. Breakfast was also excellent (and they even serve very decent coffee). It really is a beautiful resort, just beware that there's not a lot around it. In that regard, I do recommend you head into the town to the Friday night market and also make the effort to go to the Phuket Walking Street market on Sunday afternoon/evening, its totally worth it, even just to wander around the Old Town and look at the beautiful buildings.
