This resort truly amazed us. It's gorgeous, with new amenities, very clean and an amazing staff. It's a place where you can literally relax, eat really good food (in my opinion the best of all Marriott in Phuket). It's the resort to be!
The place was in need of a good paint and makeover. The bed linen was filthy the lounge seat had stains all over it. I slept on top of the bed moved me to another room which was not much better. Then onto another, They could of all done with a fresh coat of paint New mattresses and a really good scrub of the bathrooms The aircon was dusty and had never been clean it made me feel sick. The second room was no better and the 3rd was broken and suck on 32o All were very run down
This hotel is one of the best we've stayed in. Nai Yang beach is just too quiet for us with just a few shops around. We hired a scooter and traveled towards Patong beach and discovered Kamala as well.
We only stayed a total of 11 hours as our flight was cancelled at 2am and this is where we were taken till 1pm. Who would have known this place existed after only staying in Patong. We were in a block on 2nd floor at the back of the complex. Had we actually been staying for a holiday would have liked one of the single storey units by one of the pools. Was a tranquil location with the beach across the road. We weren't there long enough to go exploring but would say this would be a place for true R and R away from the hussle and bussle of Patong. Only ten minute drive from the airport so very handy. Breakfast was included. Was busy but no problems getting a table and plenty of food. Only negative was the coffee was well brewed by the time we ate, but only a minor negative. Thank you for our quick stay, if I ever return I would come back for a few days to relax in the peace and quiet.
Nai Yang is under rated in my opinion. It's a great little area very close to hkt airport. We usually spend one night in this hotel before flying home, we've now stayed here almost a dozen times. It has a lot of swimming pools all set in tropical gardens and is located just across the road from the beach. The rooms are always clean (the beds are hard as wood). They are slowly updating the hotel with reception being done at the moment. I would definitely recommend this resort for a couple of nights, the only down fall is check out takes far to long, as although they have your credit card details the still insist on inspecting the room before you leave.
There is a lot to say about Nai Yang Beach Resort. A lot to like. A lot to cause minor heart palpitations. Let's categorize the good and the bad. The Good *It's like a 4 minute drive from the airport. Plus. *It's a decent price. Winning. *It looks (mostly) nice. *It's got three pools that made my skin excited to get out of sweaty ball heat. *It's right across the street from the beach. *There's a lot of little shops nearby. *The room was tidy and spacious. *The WiFi was free and YouTube stream worthy. *The breakfast was plentiful and yummy in my tummy. Now let's more onto The Bad... *There was a lot of construction happening while we were there. Normally I wouldn't mind this, but out of the hundreds of otherwise empty rooms they could put us in, they put us in the room RIGHT NEXT to the jackhammering guy. That mid-afternoon nap is not so pleasant when burning metal smoke is wafting into your bedroom window. *The staff was not super helpful. For whatever reason, the mini fridge temperature was turned down way too low and one of the cans of Coke inside exploded. Upon checkout they told me I made a mess and owed them before I could check out. Now I understand trying to explain the physics over-refrigeration has upon carbonated beverages and aluminum cans to someone in a different language can be difficult, but seriously, it's 35baht. Let it go, peeps. *We had a family of 5 and we were only given 2 small bottles of water and 2 towels for the whole 4 days we were there. Good thing I have secret water bottle smuggling skills, otherwise we'd be toast. *This is not so much a reflection of just the resort, but Thailand plumbing in general, but it's super EWW to put my used toilet paper in the waste basket next to the toilet...especially when the housekeepers don't come the entire time we are there. Can you say STANK-A-LANK? So overall rating: it's good, but not the Hilton. But you know that because it doesn't have "Hilton" in it's name.
What a wonderful hotel it is! Staff is very friendly (thank you Donna!), rooms are large and very clean. Beautiful garden, nice pools and a wonderful beach direct in front of the hotel! However, the quantity and quality of the breakfast is below average!! On top, not enough tables, crockery and cutlery for the amount of guests and only self service - even for the coffee! Very disappointing! Lots of noise from large Chinese tourists groups, especially in the morning and evening. Management doesn't seem to care, sometimes very chaotic.
This hotel was not our first choice for this area - we had to change last minute because our original choice had building work. The irony was that this one had building work also but didn't mention it on booking. Check in was ok but its the first hotel where we've arrived and were not greeted with a cold drink and cold towel. We've been to Thailand five time and stayed in many hotels. The staff were ok - check in was not great - after 2 long flights to get there one of the ladies was quite condescending and un-friendly. Not what I expect in Thailand. The rooms were clean and the location though is fab. We loved the beach and the restaurants on the beach in the evening watching the sun go down. The breakfast was fun if you like people watching because bus loads of Chinese had breakfast before departing from their overnight stay. We realised it was a good idea to miss this time for breakfast and arrive a little later if you want a quiet time. The bar was never opened by the pool but having the choice of 3 pools was great.
The resort is on the beach road with Nai Yang beach opposite It's typically tropical with two pools, pleasant reception and good, well priced rooms. The beach itself is worth a visit and the road along has an array of small shops, restaurants and bars. It's a colourful, fun area with a laid-back feel. This was our second trip to Phuket and we will definitely consider staying here again. It's out of the main areas of Phuket - Patong with its nightlife and Phuket Town, etc. and has a more relaxed atmosphere with a better beach. It's also 5 minutes in a taxi to the airport that the hotel organised very cheaply. The planes fly out over the sea so you don't see or hear them and you feel like you're totally removed from it all. It's easy to get taxis or tours around Phuket from there.
We visited Nai Yang Beach Resort and Spa with a few families. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and had a great time. We had young children - we were able to get a portacot in the room for free. We also got connecting rooms (the connection was only between 2 sets of 2 rooms). I loved the hot water urn in the room. If you like tea, bring your own tea bags! The free breakfast had a decent range of choices. We loved the fresh fruit and freshly cooked eggs. Kids loved choosing from all the food (esp, the pancakes and cakes). The kids LOVED the pools - 2 were especially good for the kids as they had shallow parts to play in. Beware if you have kids of the charges for missing items from the room. I didn;t realise that the in-room menu card had a charge if you lost it! I had kids constantly looking through drawers etc. Was lucky they didn;t destroy them! The staff were all lovely. There were a few hit or miss incidents - Our airport pick up didn;t arrive on time - we had to call at the airport. (they came quickly after that) There was a mix up with the booking on arrival (although they accommodated for the mix up as best as possible until it could be resolved). Overall staff responded quickly to our needs and were great with the kids. There was no kids club. They were able to organise baby sitting although we didn't end up doing this. The hotel is in a great location for restaurants etc (the beach is straight across the road but it is not a private beach for the resort like some). We look forward to coming back again :)
