We stayed in the signature pool villa during our family vacation and the overall experience was outstanding: the villa was superb, landscaping of the resort was pristine, nice beach (although not exclusive to the resort) and very good service. Two reasons for not giving it a five star rating: Maintenance crews could be seen everywhere in the resort, the villa next to ours seemed to be under renovation and the movement of construction crew with their equipment was hardly discreet!! and the lack of vegetarian and vegan selection in all the F&B joints.
We stayed at grand double bedrooms pool villa for three nights and one night in double pool villa. It was such a lovely stay and definitely there will be revisit in the future. Those moments of truth are truly unforgettable. The good relaxation time after spa in the spa pavilion when you can see the clear blue sky through trees above the wall with ancient Thailand sculpture. The night when we were back after turn down service finding the Banyan Tree T-shirts with our names on. And above all, swimming in the spacious double pool villa. The ambiance here is so amazing. You will find it when evening comes so many birds are echoing each other for homing instinct. Meanwhile I need to give a sincere compliment to our villa host at double pool villa, Li Bin. She is the most helpful person we encounter there. We are so lucky to have those moments but I am sorry to say that there are numerous details are frustrating as well. On the very first night, I found that the cable for iPod player is missing. Then it is the missing shampoo container in second bedroom shower. I understood that the resort is large but it almost took an hour to get a shampoo container. In kitchen, the electric kettle is leaking water. On the second day duty manager sent a bottle wine as apology. Then I found that our villa host gave us a wrong number to contact while he is off duty so I need to call him back. On the last day, it took around 30 minutes to check out due to discounts issue. If we didn't change the pick up time 30 minutes the night before, for sure we will miss the flight. All those details happened there is frustrating as an offset to our excitement and joy. And this is not the service standard that Banyan Tree claimed themselves to be. But don't worry, I believe those unpleasant experiences will eventually fade away while only moments of truth will stay. Bon Voyage
One of the most magical places I have ever stayed. Service is remarkable - friendly and kind and helpful without being in your face. Relaxation at it's best. Highly recommend. Go in off peak season for true serenity.
Fantastic resort! We had our own pool villa which was great to take our 18 month old son in the pool whenever he wanted but also there is a wonderful larger pool on the resort which we used a couple of times. The villa also meant we could have dinner in the garden ( either with the very good room service choice or the in-house chef ) while our son slept. We also used the babysitting service which allowed us to leave the resort and also eat at the Japanese restaurant within the resort. It was delicious! The ladies who took care of our son were lovely. The entertainment for kids at the kids club is very good and helped in keeping our boy entertained as he couldn't stay BT the pool or beach all day. It was just perfect - very relaxing and enjoyable. We were worried we wouldn't be able to relax as much with a toddler but we did! Thank you to the staff who were so friendly and helpful!
Great hotel, in a beautiful location. Pool villas are beautiful, the staff is really nice and helpful, facilities of the hotel are great. In-room dining is super efficient and great quality. Restaurants are overall very good. Free bicycles can be borrowed which is great to tour the hotel. Free shuttle service throughout the day to go to the village nearby. The hotel is kids friendly: we were with our 15 month old baby and everyone was so friendly and very attentive to our needs.
We were given a wonderful villa. The service was impeccable. The staff could not do enough. Breakfast was a real treat with a fabulous view. The villa was stunning...cannot be faulted in any way. The buggies from the room to reception or beach took hardly a couple of minutes to arrive. The pool and beach area were well served with cold water and cold water mist sprays Wonderful experience overall, would love to go back.
This place is unbelievable! The location was so great and the service is simply amazing. If you are able you should splurge on the Villas. We had a private pool you could walk right into from the master bedroom , snacks were delivered everyday along with fresh fruit and beverages. The food was out of this world. This is definitely the place to spoil yourself. We didn't want to leave. Best vacation!
The Banyan Tree is a very nice hotel in a managed vacation area. The hotel with private villas is a superb address for chilling and having a great time in a great location. Service is great with too many staff for the number of guest.
Upon arrival you notice how vast the property is - sadly you never see the water, it is a large complex with multiple villas (all with private pools) but some have no view while others have pond views. The lobby is very, but very warm feeling. Staff was overall friendly but not very helpful. Food was average, at best
Stayed here over Easter this year 2017. A beautiful resort. 4 days of total luxury. The villa was well appointed and so much room. Huge bathroom, with an outdoor bath. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Didn't have to leave the resort. Lots of different dining options. There are shuttle buses to the small (getting larger by the day) village at the entrance to Laguna (like a gated community but for resorts). Was difficult to leave.
