Andaman White Beach Resort

We stayed at the Andaman White Beach Resort last week. We had been in other hotels/reports in Phuket before going here. This resort is very expensive so we expected the very highest of standards. That is not what we got. We booked a beachside villa with private pool. It was really just a room with an outside space, pool and bathroom. I wouldn't call it a villa. The room itself was fine but it was not up to the standard I would expect for the price we paid. It was tired and in need of maintenance, as was the whole resort. Our pool was ok but again, in need of some maintenance. We reported to the reception desk that our shower was leaking and the pool ladder was wobbly, the shower may have been repaired but the pool ladder wasn't. The whole resort is in need of care and maintenance, the whole place was a bit grubby and in need of a revamp. The staff were ok but not nearly as attentive as other places we had stayed. The beach is lovely and I think that is what you are paying for. Sadly there was a dumping ground at the far end of the beach and it was clear this was waste from the hotel, old cupboards, garden waste etc. This is disappointing to see anywhere but even more so on this beautiful beach. We only ate breakfast and lunch at the resort. The breakfast was ok but very limited in choice and the same every day. The lunch was fine also but nothing outstanding. We ate in Nai Thon on 3 evenings and Patong on 2, both involved a taxi journey (Patong being an hour away) On the whole we were disappointed with the resort. We had previously been at the Santhiya on Koh Yao Yai, which was far superior and yet cost far less per night. All in all I would not recommend this report at the price they charge. You can get a much better place and a much lower price.

The whole resort is placed in a small beach cove and has the perfect privacy required if you are looking for a quiet beach time in Phuket. Hearing that phuket can get a bit too much. This resort is a perfect getaway or a place you would want to stay to have a quiet time but also you can go down to kata beach during the day and come back to your cosy pad. We took a villa which had our own private Jacuzzi overlooking the pool and beach it was perfect. If you're a person looking to just spend alot of time in the resort like us than its a perfect place to do so. During late evening their beach bar runs happy hour so we got some really good cocktails . There is a bar on the beach and alot of big small sunbeds to read and relax. Since we were here in August we had rain one of the days but the weather was very good ! The hotel arranges you for pickup drop aswell from the airport so it's good. Would definately go back here again!

As we entered the Hotel lobby we were greeted with face towel & welcome drink. Our check in process went very smooth and we got free upgrade to Beach access room with Jacuzzi & swimming pool. Buffet breakfast had variety and was very delicious. Though Restaurants in the resorts were disappointing. Menu were limited and food was OK. We were planning for excursions to Phi Phi Island and reception lady arranged us for that also Hotel pickup & drop was provided, so we were happy. Finally to conclude, Rooms are spacious & clean, Private beach was cherry on top. I would recommend this resort for everyone and will visit the resort soon.....

We choosed this resort since close to the airport (20 min driving) and also due to the very good price. We were satisfied by the room and the services. Also the beach in quite nice and there are three restaurants which serwe very good food.

I always take the time to read the "terrible" reviews that people write about hotels I have visited to see what people could possible complain about this place. I have reviewed this many times before and so thought would take a different tack this time 1. The resort is isolated. I can go days without speaking to anyone (except at bfast) and that it precisely why I go there. The ability to relax and switch off is so good. If you want to go into Nai Thon yes you get a taxi....that costs $4 each way. I dont quite understand how people complain about that. The same reviewer claimed that they were descriminated against because they were there on their own..........and that it was boring. 1 min of research into reviews and the hotel website would show you that this is not the hotel for a young 20 something on their own looking to party! Again that isnt the hotels fault - that is your fault! 2. One person actually complained that the beach was choppy and not flat like the lagoon it typically is. I am not sure how that is the hotel's fault. We arrived on the back of a storm this time and yes the beach was a washing machine - oh well. Thats life! 3. Yes the hotel is nestled into the hillside built into the local environment. Yes an environment that experiences chronic humdity and huge amounts of rain every year. of course parts of the hotel are weathered - that is the whole point. It fits into the surrounds beautifully. 4. Yes there are a few stairs. One reviewer claims they are "everywhere". There are about 4 or 5 flights spread out over the whole resort. As for the claim that they dont cater for the elderly and handicapped - then with respect dont go there choose a hotel which is more in line with your situation. You adapt not them. 5. Yes rooms have a certain smell. That is what happens when you have humid 30+ degree conditions matached with 5metres of rain every year. If you dont expect that...what are you doing in the tropics? 6. Another reviwer claimed the pool is only 1.2m deep and so you cannot "do anything in it" what exactly do you want to do in it? The pool is beautiful and large and looks out onto the beach. 7. There are three restaurants (2 in low season) where you can buy food and an extensive room service menu. One is right on the beach and makes delishious italian food and drinks during a generous happy hour are 2 for 1. Reviewers actually claim that the prices are a rip off....wait for it. Compared to everywhere else in thailand. Firstly see point 1. secondly I sat on the beach front at sunset with my wife and had a meal and 2 beers each and it still costs far less than it does at home. Sure more than a place in patong - but we are not in patong we are on a beautiful private beach. Plus Bfast is the best bfast I have had in any hotel in any country I have travelled to - period. 8. Complaints about the staff have me a little unsettled. The staff here are brilliant (remember been here 4 times). They are so helpful and on a wednesday night when they have the general managers cocktain party (yes free drinks and canapes while watching the sun set over a beautiful beach) the staff cannot do enough for you and even get the guests all chatting to each other (so many different nationalities). The common thread with all those negative comments is that people havent done their homework. This hotel is amazing. Set into the surrounds it is secluded and private. The beachside villas with their own pools are a must. If you are looking to party - go elsewhere. If you like a relaxing day then maybe a few beers on the beach at night then this place is second to none for authenticity. There is no pretension at all. Lastly, be smart - go to a 7/11 at Nai Thon and buy yourself beer and drinks like we do every single year. A good book, a can of Leo, Pringles and waist deep in my own pool looking over the beach is heaven in the tropical conditions. Then after 4 days of rest and relaxation.........we head to a different style of holiday ;). Ill be back to Andaman White Beach as soon as I can!

I would suggest some maintenance works : blinds in bathroom not moving anymore, wood planks on the walking decks are in process of detaching with risk of stumbling and hurting feet specially when barefoot. For the rest a beautiful location, friendly and efficient staff, excellent cuisine. Highly recommended place !

After a good first stay at this property in January 2016, we did not hesitate to choose this hotel again for our second visit to Phuket. Even though we arrived early (approx. 9 am), we were able to check in. The villa was clean, spacious but we struggled with the very low shower head, we could not stand underneath and locking the sliding door. As it was the low season, there was some ongoing refurbishment but we never felt that they were disturbing or intrusive. The breakfast offering consisted a mixture of local and European variety. Ms. Piak and her team always welcomed all the guests and made sure that we all were well fed before starting the day. My wife pointed out that the manager of the hotel being Italian she would have expected a better coffee. :-) Whenever we were at the hotel in the afternoon, we never missed the free fresh fruit and juice by the pool. We thought that there were limited sun-loungers plus some are reserved for the poolside villas. We never had lunch or dinner there and hence cannot comment. I had a special request for my wife on her special day and they arranged this very discreetly combined with a surprise birthday cake on the day at breakfast time! (I did not ordered the cake it was part of the outstanding service at the hotel). We loved our stay at Andaman and despite some modernisation required, we would definitely recommend the property.

Very nice and relaxing place. Get a Beachfront Pool Villa and step onto the private beach from your private pool and then back again. This one is definitely a place for couples to relax and enjoy and not worry 'bout a thing. The airport is 20-30 minutes away so there's absolutely no hassle getting to the airport at any time of the day. Tip: grab a can of fly/mozzie spray from a mini mart or 7eleven on your way from the airport. Grab a few cold drinks too... the mini fridge in the villa was not very effective.

Lovely resort with a fabulous beach which is pretty much private. Attentive and caring staff. Stayed in a beachfront villa which was just amazing, views to to the sea, private pool and all the usual amenties.

One small part of me - the nasty part - wants to be very mean about this hotel, and that's because it's so good I don't want to share it with anyone. However, for the sake of Luciano, the manager, and his excellent staff I can't do that and have to be unselfish. We have never been to Thailand before and it took a great deal of research with the help of Trip Advisor to select this hotel. It looked to tick the boxes for us in that each room was guaranteed a sea view, it wasn't a sprawling property and it looked to have a lovely beach. From the moment we arrived for our 2 week stay we knew we had made the right choice. Going in the 'green' season we were taking a chance that it wouldn't pour with rain every day but we were lucky as it generally rained at night. There are 2 restaurants on site - the Thai restaurant and the beach restaurant serving pizzas and pastas. The quality of both was better than good. The Thai restaurant is also where the substantial buffet type breakfast is served. The beach itself is superb - nothing but sand. Furthermore, because it's just about only the hotel in the bay, it's more like your own private beach. For those wanting a quiet getaway, this is the ultimate hotel, but for those wanting a bit of activity, bearing in mind I'm writing about the low season so may be different at other times of the year, it does become very quiet after 7 or so. The whole place seems to become quite deserted. However, for 100 baht, about £2.50/€3.20 you can get a cab to the next bay where there are a few more restaurants. We ate at 3 of them and all were good. Would we return to Andaman White Beach Resort? You bet! The sooner, the better.
