I have stayed here several times especially when I have to come to Scottsdale in the winter when the hotel prices are out of sight. This TownePlace needs a lot of work. The first room we got was on the second for and the elevator did not work. We moved to another building where the smoke was so think it was awful. we told the front desk and they took car of it I guess. It seems to calm down later that night. The rooms are run down. The breakfast was ok but the entire place needs a make over.
The staff is wonderful. I chose this location because it is close to my meetings. I stayed here four time from January to March. The rooms are a nice size. The kitchens had everything that I needed and the staff is friendly and professional. I only gave this location three stars because it desperately needs remodeling. The colors are very outdated and the beds are springy. The bathrooms had leaky faucets, the tubs had cracks, and much of the caulking was old. During my last stay, there were ants all over my kitchen. I know this can be an issue, but it was obvious that the kitchen had been treated for ants before my stay as it had not been cleaned after the treatment (dead ants on the counters). The treatment did not take as the ants were back the next morning. They came and treated again. This was the only time I felt like I was not given a pre-checked, clean room.
If you are in Scottsdale and want an apartment like feel for a hotel price, TPS has you covered. Separate buildings and only 3 stories give it more of a condo or AirBnB feel. Free breakfast, mini-full kitchen and nice pool made for a pleasant stay! A touch outdated, but everything cant be new always, don’t get greedy!
I love Marriotts but this is not one of my favorites. Staff is good but not up to the usual quality. The walls are thin and noise travelled. I had a lot of noise from the outside pool (kids) from my room but it was during daylight hours. It was quite expensive for what we got - $325 per night all in (Thursday) and given that I can stay at a Marriott in Manhattan for $100 per night less, I think that this is overpriced. I would look at another major hotel chain if I were to do this trip again. On the positive side there was a grocery store across the street and this room had a full kitchen. Also bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Negatives - cheap bathroom fixtures including a kickstand on the bathroom door to keep it open.
I’ve traveled to over 25 countries staying in numerous hotels rated 1 to 5 stars .. some very glamorous and famous , but on my last trip I discovered a very unique & pleasant place to stay.. TOWNEPLACE SUITES SCOTTSDALE..👏 I had an appt at the famous Mayo Clinic and was trying to situate myself between the 2 locations I had my appt each day.. Then I found out that the locations were next door but Staff picked me up and shuttled me to my appts and on time.. When I checked in I didn’t think much other then the friendly and quality service they provided. But when I got to the room I realized that Marriott had converted an Apt to a hotel ... and each room had everything you needed. Reg refrig , Stove, Micro, utensils, plates, WiFi etc etc ...and the breakfast served fresh food, but most impt.. STAFF UNDERSTOOD THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE NO 1 PRIORITY & “ HIT THE FAT OF THE BAT”.... I recommend you try this place if in Phoenix area.... or anywhere ...TownePlace Suite Scottsdale.. A real gem🤙🏼
Ive stayed here twice in the past few months while visiting family in Scottsdale. Conveniently located near AZ101. Clean and affordable. Since i was traveling with my sister we had a 2 bed room plus living area suite which was less expensive than separate rooms and most importantly she could not hear me snoring in the other bedroom
Outdated Marriott property. Key card failed to work both nights I was there, very frustrating experience, had to walk all the way to the building the lobby was in. Beds were not comfortable, and will not be booking at this property again. Not what I expect from a Marriott property.
Hotel is a mess, needs a lot of maintenance and when I tried to print a file the pc was down. Room needs updating nice size room with one small sized Sofia - have plenty of room for a couple of chairs. They don’t recycle either which surprised us that a Marriott property doesn’t
Our stay could not have been more enjoyable. The staff walks that fine line of being helpful without being intrusive. From checking in, housekeeping, the Continental breakfast, to check out... the staff was wonderful. We were in town for a rather large wedding, we also had family members staying at much more expensive hotels and our hotel stay was by far the best all around hotel stay. We stayed for 5 nights and this hotel has a full kitchen. This hotel also lets you check out crockpots and rice cookers, which is pretty fantastic, plus there is a grocery store across the street. We definitely cooked meals in our full kitchen. It isn't brand new but it's clean, safe, and affordable.
Check-in process fine. We went to room, opened the door and were shocked that this was a Marriott (even rated at Cat 4). The room had odors, carpeting and couch were so worn that we wouldn't sit on couch without fear of catching something. We called Marriott customer service and ended up moving downtown to a more pricey, but MUCH better Marriott. Hotel needs a total rehab, or better yet, switch name to Red Roof or Motel 6.
