Stayed here in July 2017,the hotel is a little old but nice enough ,has all the amenities of hotel, can walk to the pier which i did to watched the sunset on Lake Michigan, very nice breakfast was fine, location is good, can walk to the downtown easily

You are within walking distance of the downtown shops and the bay or the lake. The restaurant has some of the best food we've ever eaten. The shrimp were very tender and had the best light batter . The bleu burger was excellent also.

This place needs a major shake up. The basic rooms were $200 plus, had horrible HVAC, very poor Wi-Fi, and overall were a bad value. The location is great, the service at the front desk was very subpar… No smiling faces no welcome to the weathervane, no nice to see you… Nothing. We will not stay there again. And we will not recommend it to anyone else either. There are too many places in town to rent that will be much better value. Plus a musty smell in room. The location is ideal, I just wish the property matched in quality.

We always enjoy eating dinner while seated at the bar here. Great menu with plenty of variety and good value for the money. Bar staff are very friendly and we find it entertaining to watch them interact with the customers and each other. Mushroom bisque, crab cakes and pasta dish were all excellent.

After viewing some of the previous reviews of Weathervane, I reluctantly made the reservation when planning this trip last year. We stayed here in a standard room this past weekend, and we're so relieved! All of the staff we encountered could not have been more friendly or helpful, from the man who checked us in and office staff who answered questions, to the sweet young lady in housekeeping. Is it a new property? No. But they have and still are making upgrades. Our standard room had obvious significant updating, including the newer furniture, carpet and fresh paint. And when I mentioned in checkout that I would change the curtains, as they were hard to fully close and let in too much morning light, a manager agreed with me and said they were in order and are expected in 3 weeks. So an 'A' for great effort in updating. The breakfast was better than many. It included: yogurt, fresh fruit, cooked oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, bagels, blueberry bagels, or English muffins to toast, waffle maker, coffee cake type choices, and juice, coffee, and tea choices. The best part was its location. You can watch the draw bridge raise from the breakfast room or pool area, and our first evening strolled across the bridge, along the lovely canal, and down to Michigan Beach to do a little rock hounding and watch the sunset over Lake Michigan.

Weathervane Terrace Inn and Suites was in a great location. It is walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. The hotel is old, somewhat showing its age. the rooms were clean and large. Even though we did not use the kitchen, it was nice to have a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Second floor rooms seemed to be a little better in terms of the view from the patio. We were not looking at the parking lot! Continental breakfast was ok, service was good. It was nice to be able to walk across the parking lot to go to a nice restaurant for dinner.

We had a very nice dinner with friends here this past week. This restaurant overlooks the channel leading to Round Lake + the bridge that opens for boat traffic. Very fun to watch. We sat inside, but outdoor seating is also available. We had a very nice waitress-the young girl who brought us to our table was snippy. The food was very good-small portions. My friend ordered the ribs-she enjoyed the taste, but they were very spicy-didn't say that on the menu-she could only eat 1/2 the ribs due to spicy-ness. We enjoyed our friends, and we did not feel rushed to leave even though there were some people waiting when we left. We would go back.

Although This hotel is in a great location in Charlevoix, (within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants), it lacks "something."It's an old hotel, very "tired" decor and its curb appeal needs to be updated. The suite was nice sized but had a weird bathroom/ shower/jacuzzi area- lots of doors in a small space. The towels and wash cloths appeared clean, but had a lot of permanent stains on them-Gross! The carpeting was dirty too. The room had an odd curry-like smell tas well. Continental breakfast was ok, but they ran out of things by 9AM. Mayflies were BAD (not the hotel's fault), but they covered our room door and outside wall and it was impossible to enter the room without letting a lot of the bugs inside. I Probably wouldn't stay there again until updates are made.

Next time we visit charlevoix I will rent a place across the street. When we arrived at weathervane the ladies at check in were very nice, but once we got to our room is when the problems began. Our jacuzzi tub was filthy, which we noticed right away! I literally wiped it with the towel and the dirt came right off so I know they hadn't cleaned it before we got there. So I called the front desk and had them come out to clean it. I got in the shower after the long drive up because we were going out that night and the shower head was broken. It wouldn't turn to give an actual spray and only had a mist to work with. I did show the employee the shower head and she stated she would ask about it and give us a call (which she never did). So we used the jacuzzi that night after it being cleaned in front of us and the next day when the cleaning ladies came they ONCE AGAIN didn't clean the jacuzzi tub. We definitely won't be coming back here again until they get it together. The rooms across the street are much nicer and only about $50 more per night. To me $50 more is worth the clean room and working shower head especially when you're staying multiple nights!

We decided to go the night before our departure to Beaver Island for our girls getaway. Lovely hotel and an especially nice front desk. Very accommodating for our needs. Clean and comfortable. Highly recommended and were told they have breakfast included.
