Etruscan Chocohotel

The hotel itself was nice enough, clean and tidy, friendly staff, good breakfast. The plumbing worked. The bed was hard but that seems to be a European thing. Our room faced the street and was a bit noisy at times though the windows are well insulated. Where this hotel lost points for us were location and amenities. For visiting the old town, it's too far to walk, driving isn't a good option, and riding the bus isn't something we're used to. However, the bus stops right outside the hotel, and Line G runs directly to Piazza Italia, so that's a plus. Remember to hold out your hand to signal to the bus driver to stop or he may cruise right on by like the first time for us. The hotel sold the tickets which was convenient. Granted, we chose the location but didn't fully appreciate the ramifications from afar. The second issue was the WiFi. It worked in the lobby but was very frustrating in our room. It would work for a few minutes, then stop (still connected but nothing happening). The staff did the standard reset but it made no difference. We got to use it maybe 10% of the time, at best. These days, we consider WiFi to be a requirement, so when a place says it has it, we expect it to work. When we arrived our room was warm. When I tried to adjust the thermostat, nothing happened. We were informed that the hotel decides when to enable it and chose not to do so. We opened the window but the room cleaners kept closing it, and leaving it open at night was not practical due to the noise. So we were too warm most of the time. We expect to be able to control temperature. We also planned to use the pool and sun deck but again we were informed that it was closed due to the season. Very disappointed. And what was this image painted on the wall above our bed? A bit creepy.

We stayed here as part of a group tour.the rooms were very nice, all with a chocolate theme and decor. There was a bathtub with a hand held shower. The breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. There was a safe and a fridge in the room. Not much place to walk around the hotel, there was a supermarket close by. In the lobby, there was a huge bathtub filled with chunks of chocolate, and lots of assorted chocolates to buy.

We have stayed for a week for the intensive training which took place nearby in the hotel Gio. Room was clean, the personnel friendly and helpful. For the breakfast we had a lot of chocolate variants what for a few days was really pleasant. Our room had the window situated into the street, what for some time was a little bit noisy. Better value will have the rooms situated to the opposite site from the street - to the hill.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was ready to work all the time. A great ambience of chocolate is created and a variety of chocolate dishes are served. The food served there is great. It was a great stay in the hotel.

chocolate, chocolate!!! But not chocolate atmosphere in the rooms. Nice reception, rich chocolate shop. Helpful staff. That buy adapter for electric in my room. Not bad location. The bus station on front.

The value for money was correct. It is clean. The breakfast is varied and has lots of chocolate in it which goes along with the main feature of the hotel. The hotel an excellent access to bus stops. The hotel has some chocolate features but not enough in my opinion. The staff can be nicer! The bathroom is old!

There is not much I can add to the previous reviews. I can only confirm everything that is mentioned. This a good, decent, clean and comfortable hotel. The bus stops indeed just in front of the hotel. But buses to the centre of the city are not so frequent and punctual. You can take bus G and A to old centre of town. Bus G takes you right at the centre. I agree with a previous review concerning the chocolate breakfast. At first it is great but take care; don't eat to much of it. Chocolate is not the easiest food to digest.

Despite its kitsch chocolate theme the hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly helpful staff and good choice at breakfast. Properly made coffee would be nicer than the automatic machine offering though. The restaurant was of average quality and the buffet looked old, stale and hardly appetising. We wouldn't recommend eating there. The male guest toilets need repairs.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's clean and well run, with a great location to access by car. The rooftop pool terrace was the perfect spot to unwind for a few sun soaked hours. Our restaurant experience was very positive, even though we didn't partake in the chocolate dishes on offer (we almost felt guilty not doing so, they looked very good). The breakfast buffet is amazing, one of the best I've ever seen for variety and quality. The staff were helpful and I would highly recommend this hotel. Some accuse this hotel of being kitschy, but that's their theme and it only adds entertainment value to an already great hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in July, 2016 for the Perugia Music Festival. The hotel has good access- is one bus ride away from the train station (about 5 min) as well as the Italia Piazza (10 min) - bus G stops right in front of the hotel. Bus A will get you to city center also. You can buy a ticket at the front desk for €1.50pp. Breakfast was good, with a good assortment of bread, cheese, ham, salami and others. Chocolate was good the first day, but you get tired of that quickly. The pool was a surprise- very big and clean. My kids loved it and we spent an entire afternoon there to break up the monotony of sightseeing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A/C worked well. Wifi was not so great as we were in the furthest room from the elevator. I would give it 5-stars for the cost, but 4 overall if you compare it to other hotels such as Brufani, which costs twice as much.
