I was at the Piazza IV Novembre when I told my partner that I'd seen this place in my childhood encyclopaedias, and that was decades ago. I was ecstatic! We were going to spend a night here but we ended up staying for three nights, at Hotel La Rosetta. I can't say much about this hotel except that it was spotless, basic and comfortable enough. Also, very quiet and sombre at night time. One can even say creepy but maybe that's because you rarely see people around and the lights are automatically out when there's nobody in the hallway. All in all, it's like a motel with spotless rooms and toilets. Will I stay here again? Yes, because I love Perugia!
This hotel is conveniently situated in the old town of Perugia, close to almost everything one is to see in the city. It is a beautiful old building like all the buildings in the Perugia old town. However, when you get in you don't experience anymore the old, medieval atmosphere. The hotel's rooms are dully painted, the lobby area lacks taste, the furniture in rooms is utterly ugly. In a town as beautiful as Perugia, one would expect to find more gusto in building decoration. Other than that, the hotel is a good choice to stay when visiting the town: good position, large rooms with lots of space, big beds and spacious bathrooms. The staff, particularly the younger receptionists, were lovely, obliging, professional.
Overall highly recommended - great location, classical building with classic style. We stayed there for 3 nights during the Autumn fair at the beginning of November- and the hotel is just on the main street where the booths are. This was awesome. To be improved- the hotel needs a refurbishment, we've got a great room in terms of size and comfort- but things like the wall paint, bathroom and heating system definitely need an upgrade to fit the classic style of the building.
Six ladies in Perugia for the seasonal grape festival, we decided to book Hotel La Rosetta after perusing a short list. Our choice was limited as the were really only two hotels in the old town at the top of Perugia. This was important as it meant you could visit restaurants and bars in the evening without having to take a taxi back. The hotel is undergoing some considerable refurbishment and whilst some of our party had newly refurbished rooms mine was delightfully decorated but old and in need of attention especially the bathroom. However, the service everywhere but particularly at reception and the hotel restaurant, charmingly set in the hotel courtyard, was exceptional. If you book insist on a new room!
Excellent customer service and delicious dinner. We requested a dinner reservation and was accommodated. Dinner began with wine, an appetizer, surprise quail eggs, and main course was the most delicious lasagna. After dinner homemade biscotti‘s and coffee.
I requested my boss to be lodged at La Rosetta, because I had fond memories of this place. In fact, they were confirmed: kind and helpful staff, beautiful rooms with historical furniture, excellent location at the heart of Perugia. Good breakfast, perfect hygiene. Recommended!
This was our fourth stay at La Rosetta for Umbria Jazz. Despite requesting a large, quiet room at the back of the hotel way back in August, the room we had been allocated, probably the day before we arrived and without casting their eyes over our request, was overlooking the courtyard restaurant. The restaurant is just off the main drag where the buskers play all day and well into the night. We were told by the very nice guy on reception who checked us in that it would be possible to move to a quieter room the following day. When we approached reception the next day, a very irritable receptionist told us it would be impossible to move, even though her colleague had told us the opposite. When I reminded them of our request she couldn't have cared less, shrugged and said 'it's Umbria Jazz' - as if we might not have realised. We were with several other people who had requested quiet rooms and theirs were actually overlooking the main Corso. Our bathroom had damp on the ceiling, holes where fixtures had been removed/fallen off and the shower had to be hand held to avoid soaking the bathroom as the shower screen was useless. The overall attitude of several of the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. We won't be returning!
For very good typical Umbrian fare. Lovely service. It is very centrally located in Perugia and they were very accommodating to my child that wanted to eat ~ off menu..... La Rosetta has been around for as long as I have been traveling to Umbria and I noticed they are upping their food offering for sure!
Even after switching rooms staff were unable to sort out faulty air conditioner. Given that it was 33 degrees and the noise from the street did not allow for opening the windows and doors at night, it was not a great experience.
Nice hotel with plenty of character a change from the usual chains. Staff welcoming and the room spacious and clean. Needs some updating although didn't detract overall. Nice breakfast with enough choice. We eat here for dinner one night which was excellent, with very attentive service and nice little extra touches. Enjoyable stay.
