Clean - Basic - Cheap - Old We Loved New Owner Cara - Attentive, cheerful, helpful, friendly, efficient, sympathetic fresh new owner who bent over backwards to get problems sorted for us as quickly as possible. *You can't enter off the highway - have to enter from Manning St. We expected better accommodation (we will be having words with our travel agent!!) but could not fault the cleanliness, beds & service. It's had a lick of paint, a tidy up, new blinds but you must remember the place is very old, dated, worn out and needs a lot of work, depending on your price point & expectations. BUT - Improvements are either in train or on the way with the new owners!!! It's CHEAP for Scarborough Beach!!! The air conditioning is only in the lounge/dining/kitchen and no bedroom ceiling fans. Stairs to most apartments, limited off street parking up a tricky ramp, limited slightly sloping street verge parking. Onsite office is generally not attended but Cara always answers the mobile within working hours. I couldn't find Cara's mobile on the web site (on the office doir) and for some reason could not get landline number to work. Key safes are provided for after hours arrivals and its advisable to ring prior to arrival to get a safe code! We didn't!! Our stay would have been a lot more comfortable if not for the hot water system which was tricky - switching from cold to extremely hot - could not have a consistent shower, needs a temperature regulator?.. Took a bit of getting used to. Don't complain about the furniture, kitchen, windows, blinds etc consider the price & location...and it will get better if Cara has anything to do with it!!

Very hard bed room very small and too noisy and I would not recommend this to anybody. I would not come back to this place if I was paid to is it have a very low demographic area. You can hear the people next door in the other room and what are saying and what they are doing

Don't recommend. Good location, nice view, THATS ALL: our access code didn't work, the kitchen is very under equipped, the apartment accommodated 4ppl and there was only 2 tea spooons and only 4 of every thing else, cups, plates etc, hence we had to hand wash dishes after every meal as there were only 4 dishwasher tablets for a 6 night stay, not even 1 air tight container or anything to use in the microwave, not even any S & P in the shakers, No batteries in 2 of 3 remotes, lots of outside noise with all doors and windows shut, specially at 6am from pool across the road from the person taking the exercise class. Bedrooms are not dark enough for a sleep in if there isn't an exercise class, both lounges are low and soft and quite uncomfortable, car parking is difficult if you don't have a very small car, the owner entered the apartment at 9.40am uninvited having followed us in and didnt even introduce herself tgen stood in living room while we had to walk around her until we left at 10am. 😠

We stayed here for 3 nights during Aussie’s. I expected to pay a premium as we were staying for a popular event and the accommodation was across the main highway. This was a hefty premium to pay for a hostel accommodation, that had a lot of highway noise, with a bed that had springs popping out of the side and room that smelt like stale cigarettes.

This was the most disgusting place, dirty not sure why the health inspectors have not closed it down. It is shameful that they think it is ok to rent these rooms out. The little there was in the room was either broken or dirty. There is no parking available.

If your after a bargain place to stay close to Scarborough Beach then this will do the job. I arrived at Scarborough by bus and didn’t have far to walk for the apartments. You do check in at SunMoon Boutique Resort but this was easy enough and they then told us where to find the budget apartments. We were already aware that the double room booked was a shared bathroom which was fine. We got into the room and it was pretty much as expected, cheap, standard accomodation. Worn in areas, masking tape holding toilet roll holders back on etc. However this double room cost approx $50 a night, cheaper than a private room in a hostel and comparatively similar. It is a short walk to the beach front, cafes, shops and everything you might need. The room had a tv, aircon and even a small fridge which came in handy. Overall, if you are expecting luxury then don’t book. If you are expecting cheap, hostel type accomodation and it’s just somewhere to rest your head then book it.

We went with two 8 year old boys and it was a great place as there was nothing they could damage! The beds were really comfortable and other than a few dills doing burnouts on the Friday night across the road it was fairly quiet!

We booked an apartment for a night for my friend's bridal shower as we needed a quiet place near the beach to do it. It was a very simple 2-bedroom apartment which had very basic facilities yet functional. I do admit it needs updating, but it was all right for the price. The location is really good too. It's close to the beach and other establishments in the area. A supermarket is close by if you need anything. The Wi-Fi was fine too. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

We have stayed here several times. It is dated and facilities are basic but clean and adequate. For a family of 4 it is nice and spacious, reasonably priced especially for a self contained apartment. It's located a short walk from the beach, supermarket and takeaway, also several local cafes and bars. It can be confusing to find the first time as the reception is at the SunMoon next door. Since we haven't had any issues can't really comment on the service beyond basic check in / check out. Parking wise, we have a large 4x4 that doesn't fit in the majority of undercover car parks so at least we don't have to worry about that, there are some spots down the bottom, we have never been up the steep ramp where the rest of the parking is so not sure how much room is up there. We keep coming back because for a family of 4 it is affordable, self contained and a good location.

I had browsed several accommodation locations and had chosen Scarborough Apartments as it had been one of the more affordable, child-friendly, yet comfortable options in the area. When I arrived and saw our room I was instantly disappointed!! Instead of finding the stylish and modern apartment pictured on the Scarborough Apartment website I instead was immediately told to pay a $100 bond before I was permitted to have our room key, then was told to park at the top of an impossibly steep driveway which my wheelchair converted van could not drive up without scraping the rear of the vehicle. Despite these inconveniences I still was anticipating being welcomed by a very clean, stylishly furnished apartment that matched the photos online. Instead I was greeted by a large, sparsely-furnished area in which the furniture pieces were all tacky, mismatching MDF items with scrapes or chunks missing. The kitchen drawers were not on runners and were misaligned, the cupboards were lined with wall paper that hsd lifted and was peeling off, the taps were decades old and the window blinds also appeared aged and were crooked. Furthermore, upon moving some furniture in search of power points I found many areas to be filthy and clearly not having been cleaned properly for a considerable amount if time. Generally, the whole place seemed 'tired' and sorely in need of renovation. I have recently moved into a 1960s era home which has had little work done to it since being built and yet our new residence feels more welcoming and is in better condition than this apartment. For around the same price of other much more inviting and more attractively decorated rooms without the extra charges for a baby cot, wifi etc., I would definitely choose a different hotel next time we wanted to stay in this area!
