Pier 21 Apartment Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

The rooms in Pier 21 vary in size so much it is difficult to generally describe them but if mine is anything to go by I cannot speak more highly. As good as anywhere. One gets a friendly welcome on arrival and reception is always ready to help. If one has a car there is on site parking and the hotel is in an ideal location. If not the hotel is a little out of the way at the end of a side street. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away down a very busy road and the same distance from North Freemantle station. Any eating places etc are the same distance. Freemantle itself itself is a long walk with no immediately nearby bus. Against this the rooms have a view of the river just metres away, with frontal walks and a large recreation ground almost next door.So those without cars maybe cannot have everything. There is a small outdoor swimming pool surrounded by artificial grass and a B/Q - all a bit cramped together. The gym is little used, it seems. Next door is the small indoor pool and spa. Only breakfast is served but is extensive in choice and in nice surroundings.
Rooms were nice as neat. Pool had a bbq that was handy. View from the rooms was very nice, overlooking the boats on the river. Black swans were floating around the entire day. Downsides are the road to get into the hotel is very tight and my friend that was traveling with us had his car broken into on our last night Also did three other people. His was a work car so no big deal but if it was my rental it would have cost us a fortune. Apparently not the first time it had happened. Might be time to put in some cameras as the car park is easily accessible from the street.
I loved the location of these apartments, we stayed here for 11 nights. Only downfall they just were not big enough- they were tiny 2 bedroom apartments and we had no space or privacy. Tiny kitchen with little in it but a fridge full of mini bar items to buy? we got charged for items we didn't even eat!! the staff were great and sorted that out for us. The view is awesome and the staff were fabulous. But a shared bathroom with a teenager was not fun and the room was just too small for 11 days!! otherwise I enjoyed my stay. Pool is nice and so too the gym and laundry room all great to use.
We stayed for 2 nights on our way down the coast and were so happy with the service and quality of the rooms. Gorgeous and simple with a beautiful location and clean. We left some belongings in the room and staff have gone over and above to send them back to us. The room had great ideas of where to go to eat etc. This was our first time in Perth so we needed anything we could get. Just a great way to start our holiday and we’ll be back!
We got married here in November. We had a really bad receptionist who had a real attitude problem and became difficult with us. Then we had someone banging on door at 10am even tho we did a late check out. Really disappointed with our stay on our special day!
We expected better, but this hotel has its faults. Arriving at 11am an hour before official check in was allowed and we are grateful for that and we were delayed on check out (our fault) and did not get out until 11:30 again this was accommodated. I am sure if we had an upper floor room this review would be more positive, but the ground floor rooms (number 3 from memory) has many faults. Sitting on the little terrace is ridiculous as people pass you on the footpath just one metre away, you then hear every person talking as they pass which was irritating at night and impacted on our sleep. Additionally the patio door did not lock very well, as in it would randomly unlock itself as the catch just about secured. This is not good when Joe public is only a few feet away. The air con would randomly switch itself off - again irritating on hot nights. Am I ungrateful in expecting some international TV stations? Australian TV is good but most 'foreign' hotels have a couple of international stations don't they? To be positive the self serve laundry was a nice touch along with multinational power outlets on the desk unit, well equipped kitchen too. Slightly miffed by a 10AUS$ taken from my card a few days after check out without explanation. Email detail expected..
We were in Perth for a wedding and stayed for 5 days in a one bedroom suite. Right from check in you got a sense it was going to be great. Friendly and helpful reception staff make such a difference. Their recommendations of restaurants was great. The apartment has been recently refurbished. It is large, well lit and had great views towards the river. All the facilities you could want were there. Very nice bathroom amenities, good bedside lamps, microwave, dishwasher and coffee pod machine. The rooms are clean and well serviced daily. The breakfast room is great and the selection of food comprehensive and really good. The apartment complex has and indoor and outdoor pool and a good gym. There are also bikes you can borrow. No hesitation to recommend this property.
What an amazing apartment , marina and river views , top floor ,great facilities . Very clean and had all that we needed . Booked all online and didn't disappoint ,arrived from the east coast on the red eye and arrived after hours but no hassle at all .
Pier 21 is located on the banks of the Swan River in North Fremantle. North Fremantle is convenient to the city centre. This apartment hotel is modern, clean and a comfortable place to stay. There is a gym, small indoor pool, outside pool and tennis court. The pier is an ideal place for boating tourists. The staff are very friendly and helpful
We had a lovely apartment overlooking the boat harbour and were able to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. Excellent accommodation and a very good selection for breakfast. The apartment was serviced every day, and there's plenty of parking. Didn't want to leave!
