I had to stay 2 nights in Perth and wanted a hotel near Burswood but found the Crown properties (no relation to Crowne Plaza) overpriced So I chose the Crowne Plaza in on Terrace Road. The location was a short taxi hop across to where I had business. The room was comfortable with well stocked minibar temptations which I avoided. The WiFi was pretty poor and considering it was a pay for extra deal it was bad value. In fact I got much faster FREE wifi on the Casino floor in the Crown Casino. Credit to the Crowne Plaza they wiped off my WiFi charge on checkout when I mentioned how poor it was so I reckon they must be aware it is not the best - especially when you have to pay for it. The restaurant in the hotel was deceptively excellent. I say this because on my second night Sunday I was looking for a good restaurant in the vicinity but could not see anything. I had initially dismissed the restaurant because the promotional posters for it seems to be for the kind of fast foods I wasn't keen on. I had resigned myself to eating in and was delighted to discover that they have an excellent full service menu with a great variety of quality dishes. I would return for the restaurant alone but it would be nice if they could upgrade the WiFi.
Stayed here twice in the last month in 2 different room configurations. The non view room was actually quieter and had a normal shower. The river view room is a delight to wake up to, but can have a bit of extra noise and also has the stupid showers over the bath. The river view room has noise from the roadway, ok it's Perth so there is only small amount of traffic. But the main noise if from the pool / bar downstairs. One Sunday they had very loud radio blasting through the pool area and the noise carries straight into the room. It's ok to have some light music, but the radio station with ads and chit chat was annoying when trying to just chillout and enjoy the wonderful view from the balcony. Very good quality restaurant both for the main dinner and breakfast. Staff are great and deal with the busy hotel very well, although the barista in the morning is often swamped with orders for coffee from the restaurant as well as people wanting a takeaway from the counter. Sometimes quite a long wait there for a coffee. For an old hotel, the rooms are ok (you do hear the showers/ toilets from adjoining rooms) and the reasonable value price probably reflects the standard of the rooms. Couple of nearby restaurants - Recipe (Persian) a few doors down is pretty good if you are looking for some yummy meat dishes !
Although a very busy weekend with the October Fest the Staff were amazing and the Hotel, as always, well presented. Food was exceptional, breakfast amazing. It would be nice if they got rid of the over bath showers. They are not safe, especially for older clients. Even with a so called non slip mat. Only criticism would be the lower rooms 201 and 202 are under the made up Gym on level 3 which impacts noise quality. Its obvious the gym is 2 converted guest rooms. It should be moved.
We stayed at Crown Towers for 3 nights and was one of the best hotel experiences I had in my life. As soon as you arrive, you get the sense of luxury and excellent interior design. The best features were the breakfast buffet and the pool. Loved it! Well done Crown.
This is a busy hotel and the staff are friendly and always keen to please. The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant meals at other times vary from average to very good, depending on which chef is on that night. We paid extra to stay on the 12th floor and, although the views are lovely, each of the rooms has two adjoining doors, so you can easily hear the people on both sides. Depending on who your neighbours are, this can be a distinct disadvantage. The hotel itself, however, has many good features and seems to be the choice for a lot of tour groups and flight crews. We would stay here again.
Not brand new but still like home and is my favourite place to stay in Perth. As an IHG member I get great rooms such as views of the river which are fantastic and I love the fact that it is close to freeway for access and also to CBD. WIfi is always good which makes my life much easier when working.
The hotel is pretty old for an Intercontinental Hotel, but the friendliness of the staff makes up for the anything that might be included in a more modern hotel. the check in was quick and smooth. I ordered room service that was delivered quickly by a very friendly waitress.
As an IHG Gold Ambassador, I love to enjoy the IHG brand of hotels an the Crowne Perth is no exception! Always love staying here when I visit Perth. Staff are always friendly, down to earth. The hotel provides excellent value for money! Look forward to staying here again. Thank you. Stuart Allen P.S thanks for the great room with a view and the nice bottle of wine. You guys are great.
A quiet location offering great views of the river. This hotel is an older CROWNE Plaza but still vey comfortable with all the service one expects from this chain. The breakfasts were good and the room service dinner menu had a few Asian influences making it a great alternative option.
We stayed in two different rooms, first the 'spa' rooms with a oversized bathtub facing the other buildings, second room was a standard room facing riverside and with a balcony, both rooms were great. Extra plus for free guest laundry.
