A quiet location offering great views of the river. This hotel is an older CROWNE Plaza but still vey comfortable with all the service one expects from this chain. The breakfasts were good and the room service dinner menu had a few Asian influences making it a great alternative option.
We stayed in two different rooms, first the 'spa' rooms with a oversized bathtub facing the other buildings, second room was a standard room facing riverside and with a balcony, both rooms were great. Extra plus for free guest laundry.
Normally we stay at The Holiday Inn if we're just having a night out in the city, but last weekend we couldn't get in at short notice, so we opted to try the Crowne Plaza instead. As they are also an IHG hotel, we still gained bonus points toward our next stay. The room we had was very similar to the Holiday Inn so we felt right at home. The view over the Swan River was amazing. We had selected the luxury (or however they had described it) bed package so looked forward to a good night's sleep. The bed wasn't really anything special though, but not the worst we've slept in, and we've slept around a bit over the last few years. The air conditioner was below average and a tad noisy, but fortunately we were on the 10th floor and had a balcony, so we left the door open through the night and enjoyed the fresh air instead. Room service was prompt when we wanted a snack shortly after our arrival at 2.00pm and our cheese platter was very nice. Just enough to get us through until dinner. Our room was clean and well appointed. It also had a fully stocked mini bar fridge but the prices weren't cheap. Not wanting to walk right into the CBD for dinner, we decided to try the hotel's own restaurant, Gusti. The food was delicious and the prices were fair, but there wasn't much atmosphere. Breakfast the next morning was very nice too, probably one of the better buffet breakfasts we've had in Perth city. The bacon was to die for by the way. As Gold IHG members we were given an 11.00am checkout with the option of 2.00pm if we wanted it.
There is nothing flash or fancy about this hotel but the staff are so very welcoming, the rooms large, the location ideal that we return year after year. The breakfast buffet is served in the room facing the Swan River and a highlight is the juicer. There is a wide selection of foods including fresh fruits and healthy choices. The staff in the restaurant must be the friendliest in Perth
Just came up from bunker bay after 3 days there and this hotel was recommended to us staff were brilliant, room clean and tidy and close to cbd only down side was $ 34 a day for parking but the valet service was friendly polite and. Very professional
We only had three days to see Perth and wanted to good location and at the same time wanted to be close to the airport. This hotel accomplished both. It looks as though it's been refurbished in the last year or two. With granite in the bathrooms nice fittings and comfy beds. The front desk was extremely helpful and very friendly. We loved that we were within walking distance of Elizabeth Quay where we could get the hop on hop off bus.
This is my 2nd trip to Perth this year (I know lucky me) but actually both with work. This time i booked my 9 nights at the Crown Plaza. So far, very friendly staff and warm welcome upon arrival. Rooms are comfortable and offer everything you need, regardless of business or holiday trip. I have a balcony and view of the river swan. Food is very good if not a little expensive, but i guess normal for hotels. There is a basic but functional gym. There is a laundry with complimentary washer, dryer and wash powder, which is great (perhaps if I'd known i wouldn't have brought a pair of pants and socks for every day and shirts)! Only downside is you are slightly off the beaten track, but only short walk to bus and maybe 15 mins to town. Taxi from the Airport was about $43.00. I would stay again. Enjoy your stay . Chris. UK.
Rooms are fine and okay size, breakfast uninspiring and no free range eggs, box of cereal on the side for gf people. Entrance is a bit ugly and tired looking, think bit overpriced really, but staff were all lovely and location is fine.
I had a one night stay at Crowne Plaza Perth to attend a nearby dinner party. I chose a river view room and was given room 704, the room being quite amply sized, though I wish it had a king size bed as there was plenty of room for it. The view from the balcony was what I had hoped for, though I did need to wait a tad for it as upon arrival a major rain storm hit blocking out the view. The room had a large lcd tv with several cable tv channels and access to pay movies. The bathroom was great, I only wish I could have taken the shower head as it was so much better than my own (trip to Bunnings for sure). My booking included breakfast, this was reasonable, though I had hoped for coffee but their machine was broken the day of my visit. All else was quite the usual expected fair with cereals, some pastries, and assortment of cooked foods. The bed was nice and comfortable making for a comfortable stay upon return late from my dinner party. If you stay here I recommend going for the view, but perhaps not if you have young kiddos as they balcony is low and not suited for them.
Greated at entrance of hotel by John with a big smile who parked our car( valet parking $34)Check in was easy and quick. Stayed in rm 809 very nice view of river with no balcony, room appeared bigger than most hotel rooms I've stayed in. Room service very slow waited 35mins for a glass of wine to be delivered.Went to Gusti Restaurant for dinner- small menu but our party of 3 were very happy with our meals-price and size.Breakfast at Gusti-many choices of hot and cold food. Will stay again
