I think three and a half is a fairer score. We drove up from Bunbury to catch an early morning flight, these apartments suited our requirements. In all fairness the apartment was large enough, it had a full kitchen a dining room, lounge and two bedrooms. Considering there was bedding for 5, there was not enough seating in the lounge for everyone, the TV was very tiny for the size of the room. The beds were pretty good. You couldn't open any windows in the master bedroom and it was quite stuffy. Overall not bad accommodation but not the Ritz.
We just spent 4 nights at Waterside apartments including a Saturday night. We were really pleased with the size and facilities of the apartment and never had any issues with noise, either from other guests or from the freeway which is quite close. The parking was a bit tight but security was good and we were able to use public transport (ferry) to get to the city. The ferry is only about 10 mins walk away as is Mends street for eating, The staff were very friendly and helpful especially as we needed a late check in. Selecting accommodation is always tricky but we would have no hesitation in staying here again and recommend it highly.
The outer walls are full of cracks, the room is basic but most of all there is no reception after 5pm. The callibre of people are bogans. No safety here at all. people fighting until early hours and NO SECURITY OR RECEPTION. Pick your game up or else you will crumble, theres enough places to stay in perth without your premises.
Stayed for 1 night and will honestly never stay here again. Apparently my card was declined (I don't understand why, it had been confirmed and had plenty of funds on it) and they didn't bother to tell me. As I had family staying in the same complex, I was able to get the key from the lockbox (after booking another hotel last minute - $170 down the drain, thanks for that). The room was quite shabby, and I don't understand the logic behind having one tiny set of toiletries for a room booked for 4 adults.Or the logic behind having 3 sugar sachets and so much sweetener. When we went down to the reception the next morning to find out what had gone wrong the night before and advise that we were very unhappy about it, we were told that we could pay on Monday after a discussion with the manager about the failure to notify that there had been a payment issue. Less than an hour later they demanded the payment immediately. This is the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had, it doesn't ever deserve 1 point. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Located on mill point scenic road next to the busy high way..great view of the Swan river. Walls and floor are thin and we can hear the second floor people when they walk or hop around. Not a noisy feeling but your don't want to hear all those activities trust me. It was raining the 4 days we stayed and the only way to open the front gate (close at 9pm-6am) is to get off the car and walk uncovered to key in the codes so I was a little wet and annoy off the layout of the place. Most parking spots exposed to the rain the same way. Yes I should bring an umbrella from Asia..checkout strictly at 10am seems to be a new norm I dislike. Must rent a car if you stay here because there is nothing within 1.5kms to hop on. The cafe strip started from the BP gas station and the Swan river front with the breath taking view is 2kms away. Service? There is no room cleaning for the 4 days we were there(policy) . No attempt from any person to " service" us. Although expected being Australia, it is a shame they didn't do more to try to make you returned.
We spent 4 nights here during our last visit and thoroughly appreciated the location - convenient and accessible to Perth city and connected to major roads. It can get a little noisy as it is just opposite major roads. Staff were helpful, but we were a little miffed as we arrived later than the typical check-in hours and somewhat struggled to get hold of our keys that were kept in a password protected safe box. Otherwise our stay was pleasant and enjoyable. Would return in future trips!
I would recommend this as an ULTIMATE UTMOST last minute resort / option. If there is sort of absolutely nowhere else for you to go then definitely stay here. Overnight is good. But if staying more than one night expect to not have your room tended to No clean towels, new soaps or sheets changed neither rubbish. Expect rubbish to be kept in kitchen and unserviced =) Overall. The beds are very comfy and the blankets are lovely along with the pillows.
Spend your money ELSEWHERE... Don't bother booking out an apartment at Waterside. It was a HUGE waste of money and a very unpleasant stay. I only booked because I had seen reviews which looked promising but after spending time here I realised that the only people who would've written such nice reviews would be them themselves because they DID NOT clean the apartment in FOUR WHOLE DAYS! 4 DAYS! SERIOUSLY! Me & my partner along with 16yo were mortified at the fact that there was no clean sheets, or rubbish taken or even toilet paper!! Not to mention no new towels or even a simple soap was given. Please do not waste your money. You'll be better off in a TENT!! Another thing to note is... car parking. Their driveways and parking areas are EXTREMELY tight and very close so expect someone to either scrape your car or you scraping it along the building or else face having your side mirror whacked by another car driving passed your vehicle. . PROS - They have a clean fridge, dishwasher and microwave.
We had a two room aoartment for 2 night. All good. As stated by others, the apartments can be noisey thanks to the freeway and trains out front. I didn't find it unbareable and we were right at the front. There is an issue in just stairs to access the floors as we had a number of super heavy bags but we managed. The apartment is quite spacious and pizza delivery for a couple of friends in the lounge was no hassle. The recpetion is not 24 hour and you need to make provision for that. Reasonably well appointed, it had pretty much everything except not enough towel hanging space in the bathroom, a lack of instruction on the washer/dryer which was unbalanced and we fixed it ourselves but alerted them to the issue. The wifi is rubbish. The rooms could be a little cleaner. All in all, good. I recommend it and would use it again.
I booked here as they had a special on and one of my kids was having a last minute surgery close by. I went in early and explained my circumstances and arranged to do all the paperwork as I would have a sick child with me when I got back. After returning and collecting the key I had the pleasure of walking up 2 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor carrying my sick child. Then returning to drag up our luggage. Upon entering our level an alarm could be heard a few rooms over. I reported it reception. An hour and a half later I rang them again to ask when it would be turned off. This time I was transferred to the night desk (it had just turned 6pm), the staff member was at another property but was very helpful and the alarm was sorted out 25mins later. The room itself was fine. The location was easily accessible but noisy due to the freeway in front of it. The staff onsite didn't really seem to care that much. If there ever was a next time I would firmly request a lower floor.
