Had a lovely stay. Wee complaint is the window in our room was too wee to really bask in the view. Service is friendly, but could take a step back from clearing the plates and wait till you have definitely finished ☺️
Stayed here a few times and it's definitely upped it's game! Spotlessly clean, food fantastic and friendly at tentative staff- well most of them ☺️only complaint is the wine could be colder, especially when we were lucky enough to get some sun ☀️
What a great view from our room. The room was comfortable and clean. The sad thing was that there was only one bottle of water in our room and only one face cloth...not too sure they realised that there were two of us staying in the room. .The hotel is a little dated in its decor. The food is slightly more than expensive than we would normally pay. The staff were extremely attentive and the service was excellent. On the plus side they have a gym, sauna and steam room.
This hotel's all about the location: it enjoys a beautiful view of the loch set amidst the hills. Breakfast was great, our room wasn't luxurious but perfectly comfy, and the swimming pool though small was perfectly functional (with a nice and hot sauna). The only really false note was that the hotel still charges for wifi access, which isn't really on these days (esp given that phone reception isn't great). Tsk tsk.
Great location, excellent views of the loch from bedroom and lovely comfortable beds. Stayed two nights. Evening meal on first night was good but inconsistent quality, presentation and temperature of food at both dinner and breakfast on second night.
Stayed here on a two night B&B plus cream tea and prosseco voucher. Journey to the hotel is scenic but can be a bit tricky as it is about 17 miles on a B road with trucks loaded with logs passing in very confined spaces. However, that added to the experience and once you've done the trip a couple of times it's fine. The hotel is situated lochside and the views are magnificent. We were blessed with fine weather which added to the enjoyment. Staff were of various nationalities and desk and lounge bar staff were very welcoming. Our room was not ready when we arrived and we were provided with an additional cream tea voucher to pass the time while the housekeeper had the room made up. Extra pillows were speedily provided on request as was fresh milk for in room tea making. The room and all areas of hotel we saw were spotless. Our room was large with oversized 'single' beds. It was an accessible room so that might be expected but it was good to have room to move about. A disappointment for a hotel of this size is that it has no walk in showers. The bath was well equipped with handrails etc but not everyone can get into a bath. Excellent toiletries and good quality towels and bed linen were provided. Yes, the hotel is a bit shabby and could do with some sprucing up and a wee bit of upgrading but it is clean and has lots of character. Breakfast was as plentiful as you wanted. Hot food freshly made to order and perfectly cooked poached eggs. I would say, however, that the restaurant manager/maitre D could lighten up a bit - he is very stern. Ate in the lounge bar one evening and food was excellent, if a wee bit pricey, but that happens when you're at the end of a B road with no competition. Overall, a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a relaxing break.
Quiet, spacious, peaceful break Stayed here for two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. A lovely, peaceful spot and a pleasant hotel to stay in. Staff throughout were impeccably polite, a very good welcome on arrival and service in the restaurant very good. Cooked breakfast was delicious! Room had an amazing view across the loch and over to the mountains, not a sound to be heard. The room was also a good size, having spend many recent breaks in much smaller accommodation only down side the bar was very expensive
All of the team was very nice and helpful, the location is beautiful. If there's something to improve is the hotel, it feels a bit tired. There are lots of lovely walks close and the scenery is beautiful
In all my travels, this hotel had the best service. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were greeted by very friendly staff. They made us feel very welcome & never hesitated to offer their services. The food served for breakfast and dinner was excellent. Will recommend this hotel to all my family and friends not only for their scenic location but also for their services.
Hotel was in a great location, overlooking Loch Rannoch and Schiehallion. The hotel had a great bar restaurant and a nice pool with steam room and sauna. There wasn't wifi in all the bedrooms. It was quite dated but a lovely place to visit.
