Again, a one-night business trip. As expected, out of town on an industrial estate but close to Asda, McDonalds and a petrol station with an M&S store inside. There's also a restaurant next door but the stench of old cooking oil pumping into the car park put me off trying there. Basic rooms with tea and coffee provided - and the miserly 4 milk cartons - why do hotels do this? You're tired from meetings and want more than two cups of coffee in 24 hours. The wifi signal was strong so working was easy. There's plenty of free parking to the rear and there is lift access to all floors. It's slow but it works. Breakfast was included in the rate. At £99 a night the hotel isn't cheap or good value for money as Travelodges are cheaper and offer the same facilities - but I needed to be in this area so I booked it. The hotel staff had remembered to put on the heater in the room before my arrival. I've noticed an increasing trend for hotels to try not to heat your room until you arrive, which is the wrong way to save money in my view. There are signs everywhere asking if your stay is a 10/10. There is nothing on offer here that we don't require as a minimum standard, so no, I'm not delighted. The service isn't exceptional and neither are the rooms. - Or the damn gravel car park that ruin my beautiful shoes! What man thought that was a good idea?!
The Holiday Inn Express in Perth is just off the main roundabout from A9 - perfect for accessing either the Perthshire countryside, or to take off further afield on a good road. Despite this, the hotel was quiet, efficient and well kept. Great restaurant next door, and the hotel had a super breakfast. Friendly and very helpful staff - a perfect experience here!
First Class. Fab breakfast. Staff professional, polite and friendly. Everywhere immaculately clean. Enjoyed our short stay would definitely stay there again or any other Holiday Inn Express if they are up to same standard.
I stayed here for work over two weeks and two bookings with my wife and daughter. Staff were helpful and friendly and we had no issues throughout our visits. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The hotel was very busy and was obviously the hotel of choice for the Sea workers with their headquarters just across the road. We stayed here through some of the warm days at the end of June and the rooms were very warm and didn't have air conditioning. Probably not something that would cause too much concern for the majority of the time in Scotland! Breakfast was good and by what others said, a great improvement than it used to be. Would have been nice to have access to the building from the rear car park but only a slight criticism. I would certainly stay here again
I can only repeat what I have said before - the welcome at reception begins the good points - having given your name they know your details and know you've stayed before, welcome you back and are pleasant and professional. Our room was as ever very clean and comfortable. Eating next door at the pub is convenient and the food there is fine. Breakfast is simple but very good - some hot items and plenty of cold choice including fruit, cereals and croissants. Tables are cleared and cleaned really quickly so even at busy times the area looks welcoming. Recommend it.
Recently returned from 2 nights in the Holiday Inn Express in Perth. The hotel is situated near the main A9 / Perth junction about 2 miles from the centre. The route into the hotel grounds is complicated with confusing signs - we managed to park round the back of the hotel after 2 circuits - most of the 'main' spots being occupied by SSE vans (presumably contractor vehicles). However, the staff at the check-in were helpful and polite and we had a room on the 1st floor looking out towards the main road / railway line. There is a pub adjacent to the hotel offering the usual 'Brewers-Fayre' pubgrub this was convenient and absolutely fine for an evening meal Breakfast in the Holiday Inn is served in a smallish dining area with the usual choice - however this establishment offered 4 warm dishes (bacon. sausage, scrambled egg and beans) against the normal 3. A minor niggle to me is the Holiday Inn's policy of claiming that the 'breakfast is on us' - no it is not, we have paid handsomely for it! My reason for only 3 stars comes down to price - we paid £188 for 2 nights Bed and Breakfast - this is too much; £140 would have been a more appropriate figure when comparing with other hotels we stayed at as part of our Scottish holiday.
The staff here are very friendly and efficient - check in and check out is easy and staff are always on duty and pleasant. Parking is straight outside the front door. My room was comfortable and clean, but a tad small. I was next to the lift so would get noise when visitors were leaving early in the morning. The shower was excellent and plenty of hot water. The breakfast area is cramped and its difficult to keep everthing stocked up on the buffet when its busy, but my room would have been good value for money even without breakfast included. There is a convenient bus stop outside the hotel with regular buses in and out of Perth city centre (£2.60 each way - April 2017), leave the car in the free parking! There is also a riverside walk into Perth that the staff on the front desk can give you information about.
A clean modern comfortable place to stay. Great location. Simple hot and cold breakfast was included in the rate I paid which was excellent. Pub next door serves pleasant food and is very convenient. There is also a garage opposite with an M&S food outlet so was able to eat in my room when I preferred to do so.
Have stayed at this hotel several times now and have yet to find fault. It's reasonably priced , the rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious. The staff are always very pleasant and extremely helpful. Is definitely our hotel of choice in Perth and will no doubt stay again in the near future.
The is a super hotel with very friendly staff. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable with good Wi-Fi. The breakfast was basic but very good and parking was available immediately outside the hotel. A great place to stopover when driving further south or north.
