Booked this hotel for 10 days based on amenities and decent reviews. Main goals were indoor pool and room whirlpool in a smoking room, even tho it was an hour away from my son who we were visiting for Christmas. Wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal, but certainly not this. To begin, front desk had problem finding reservation that I made almost 2 months age. We asked up front if the pool was in operation, clerk said yes, but it wasn't heated. In the process, that didn't quite register. Got our key cards and procedded to the room. It took 25 - 30 tries to get either of the key cards to work. Finally got in, room smelled strongly of air freshener. Tried to turn on the lamp, no bulb. Room was outdated but nice enough on the surface. First, bed check. Comfortable enough, sheets nice and clean, no evidence of bugs under mattress covers at the head. Went to check the bathroom, noticed floors in hall and bath not swept or mopped. Tub old and not clean, could feel layer of scum on sides and see crust around the jets. In the kitchen area, fridge door not cleaned, inside iced up. Opened the cabinet and the door fell off in my hand. Still willing to give it a chance, I pulled the bedclothes up at the end of the bed for further inspection and found a large brownish-black stain on the side of the mattress. After much discussion on what we were willing to live with to have the vacation we hoped for, we went back to the front desk to report these findings. Agent offered another room. I asked what the pool temp was and a gentleman behind the desk said 40 - 50. That was enough. Check out.
Room smelled of sachet strong flowery/ incense type smell. Left door open for long time even though very cold outside. Went to hot tub which was OK. Pool was frigid and unusable. Back to stinky room. The shower water was not hot. Called front desk. Said all water came from same place but I could change rooms if I wanted. Yeah like that would help if it was out everywhere. It was 5:30 pm. Maybe they used it all washing sheets but they should leave some for quests or get a separate water heater. We unpacked cooler into refrig. The freezer compartment was frozen shut by accumulation of ice - see photo so couldn't put freezee packs in freezer. The exhaust fan in bathroom room didn't work. The toilet paper roll kept falling off. The beds were old and uncomfortable. After supper we left door open again about 1 hr to try to improve smell. Windows do not open. We did not get our 6:30 wake up call. We tried to fill a Tupperware container with ice to keep our insulin cool for traveling but ice machine did not work. See photo. I asked desk clerk if she had any ice anywhere for our insulin. She said she did not know and ignored me. The whole room was very worn. The bananas at breakfast were good. The decaf tasted like just hot water tinted brown. We went to bed with heat on 71'. I kept reducing several degrees because it was too hot in room. I fell asleep when if was at 62'. The room was about 95' when we woke up. Pros: It was quiet and the hot tub was nice and I appreciate the Fresh fruit and raisin bran at breakfast, the check-in desk clerk was nice.
We evacuated rather early and could not find a room anywhere in Valdosta. One of the hotels I called said they heard the Quality Inn in Perry had rooms and I immediately called. They said we could only stay two nights but that was better than nothing. We carried our stuff to the second level and the room was pretty mediocre but it did have a hard surface floor rather than icky carpet. We knew it was a very pet friendly motel but beggars can't be choosers. The breakfast the first day was fine but the staff quickly becamed overwhelmed by the number of evacuees that started arriving. My view of this hotel is influenced because they had openings for us. It was also very reasonably priced at $50 per night. I would not have chosen this hotel normally due to the outside hallways but it was a friendly group of evacuees in dire circumstances.
Just don't stay, Booked through choice and got the bill for someone that booked on priceline that was cheaper. The handicapped room is not, well, handicapped accessible. I still have the video of the crawling bugs on them bed.
Rooms were nice. Decent pool. Comfy beds. Breakfast was okay, not great. I liked having refrigerators and microwaves in the room. I liked the idea that they were pet friendly, and yet we never saw many pets around.
Room was clean but dated. Needs to be updated. The breakfast set up is not easy. The items that should be next to each other just aren't and you have to go all over the place for a simple breakfast. The selection was less than normal at a Quality inn. Service was good and friendly.
I will first say that I came with my family after evacuating Miami during Hurricane Irma. And I am grateful that the hotel was available. Also, I have to acknowledge that they were kind enough to refund me for leaving 2 days early. Breakfast was about as good as a Holiday Inn's. However, the property badly needs an update. The rooms were clean and they came every day to do room service, but the property is so dated that even if the rooms are clean, they don't look clean. The person at the front desk was not the nicest either, I found the customer service lacking. And again, I feel bad saying this because they ended up helping me. But this is a review, and I am trying to state the good and the bad as fairly as I can.
We booked thru Travelocity and my fault I did Advanced Pay. We arrived to pretty empty parking lot. Checked in and opened our door and hit with musty smell. We dropped our bags off and left to grab dinner and was gone for an hour. We can back and my daughter was going to take a shower and noticed black all over the wall under the sink (Room 110). We looked close and it was Black Mold and all over. Went to front desk and she moved us to another room and was not much better. We went and talked to the counter and told her we were leaving and wanted a refund. She looked up our reservation and found we booked via Travelocity and told us we needed to call them and they would call her and she would agree to the refund. My second mistake, I left before calling Travelocity. When we called them, they took our complaint and said they would call and our status would be emailed. The next day I got an email that said the hotel refused our refund. Yep, I am going to be telling everyone about how their rooms are. I will also be contacting their corporate offices. I do not recommend this place. It is awful!
Reserved 2 rooms and they weren't bad for one night except one of the rooms had a cockroach in the bathroom. Breakfast was average but did have fruit and also a waffle machine which the kids liked---older facility but have stayed in worst ones
Hotel is outdated and appears to be popular with anyone doing anything at the fairgrounds. This weekend was a dog show. So its pet friendly. It was an OK stay room was fairly clean. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Not bad for the money. Make sure if you are a smoker request a non smoking room. The smoking rooms smelled awful.
