Apartment in Pergine Valdarno with Pool

This apartment for 6 in Pergine Valdarno is situated on an estate in one of the annexes of a castle on a splendid hilltop location. The estate is known for its excellent olive oil. After WW2, Marquis Baldelli, who was the owner at the time, had the castle fully restored and returned to its original glory.

Arezzo's Antiques Market opens every month's first Saturday and Sunday of the month. You can go wine tasting in the vicinity, and every Monday is organized a themed Tuscan dinner in the ancient stable of the castle. Reservations are required and a minimum of 8 people are allowed. You can enjoy hiking and bike outings in the 113 half of the property, which includes olive groves and woods.

Outside, the private garden adjacent to the house is a wonderful place to enjoy a Tuscan meal or enjoy the splendid views across the estate. Children will love playing in the garden, while their parents cool down at the communal swimming pool. Pets are welcome.

De aankomst was zeer hartelijk en persoonlijk door Laura en Simone. We werden echt ‘verwacht’. De accommodatie was super. Wij zaten in appartement La Terrazzina op de 1e verdieping waardoor het zitten in de tuin wat lastiger was. Vooral met eten was dat een soort picknick steeds😊 Tas vullen met alles en naar de tuin. Het bed en badlinnen werd 1x per week schoon gebracht. Er is een wasmachine in het appartement dus dat scheelde ook veel met de bagage. Er komt iedere morgen, behalve zondag, een bakker bij het kasteel en die heeft van alles. Het zwembad is schoon en heeft een prachtig uitzicht op de vallei.

Na een lange autorit kwamen we via een steil grindpad aan op de bestemming. Meteen al adembenemend mooi. En stil.. oude gebouwen die prachtig onderhouden waren stonden tussen de wijnranken en olijfbomen te wachten op vakantiegangers. De ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk. Met een beetje Engels en een beetje Italiaans werden we binnengehaald in de wijnproeverij voor het regelen van het papierwerk. Eenmaal in het huis aangekomen werden we verrast door de sfeervolle inrichting van de kamers. Allen in de oude stijl, van lampekapjes met roesjes tot robuuste kasten en bedden van zwaar hout. Plavuizen op de vloer en luiken voor alle ramen. Een heerlijk verblijf tijdens onze vakantie. Buiten hadden een stuk privetuin met een BBQ, een eettafel en luie stoelen van waaruit we ons konden vergapen aan het indrukwekkende dal. De medewerkers (Simona en Laura) waren altijd vrindelijk en gzellig. Vincienzo draaide zijn hand niet om voor het repareren van mankementen en Bleek ook een fijne chauffeur om onze kinderen naar de trein te brengen vor de terugreis. De wjn die door deze Montozzi-familie gemaakt wordt is overigens heerlijk! Al met al is onze vakantie een hele fijne tijd geweest, met uitstapjes naar Arezzo, Sienna, Firenze, Laterina (Middeleeuws dorpje) en we hebben kunnen hardlopen rond de locatie (wel veel hoogtemeters) dus je hoeft je niet te vervelen. De grootste luxe? Het heerlijke zwembad met ligbedden rondom, parasols en schaduwplekken. En natuurlijk de voetbaltafel en tafeltennistafel. Bedankt!
