Hotel was under renovation, externally very dirty, room was clean and remodeled but A/C unit did not work.

Swimming pool much smaller than Website photo portrays, not sure if the pool's length was as long as our van - very close. Carpet filthy, turned our feet and socks black with dirt. Discovered a safety hazard with broken and bare electric wires from the hair dryer - not sure how the personnel "cleaning" the room could have not noticed this and we wonder how long the bare wires have been exposed. I called the main desk upon discovery and to the credit of the lady at the front desk, she did bring a new replacement hair dryer immediately after this potential fire hazard was reported. Folks outside our room on the stairway were smoking all hours of the night and our air conditioner sucked in this smoky air into our room and about made us all sick. The "Continental Breakfast" area is about as large as a small foldable TV dinner table - extremely small. New paint is needed inside and out after scraping away the rust, new carpets are needed, and for a family of five staying in one of the larger suites, more than 3 towels is necessary. I couldn't rate the staff higher than an "OK" because the cleaning staff and maintenance staff are doing such a poor job.

The hotel was very near the base, but not near attractions. Other hotels booked. We knew this was not a 3 or 4 star hotel. We expected basic and that is what it was. The pool was small, but suitable, and they provided breakfast items each morning. The staff was very cordial and helpful. The only reason I can not give this hotel a higher rating, is because the carpets were so filthy. The hotel itself was clean, except for the carpets. It had a mildew smell. When my son came in from base, he noticed it right away too. I took a shower, and made the mistake of walking barefoot on the carpet, and noticed my feet felt oily. When I washed them off with a white towel, the towel was completely blackened. I then placed a lightly damp white wash cloth on the carpet and stepped on it, and yes...the carpet was indeed the culprit. I wore shoes from then on. I have never complained about the uncleanliness of a motel until now! I have stayed in high level resorts and I can stay in basic hotels as well, all depending on the need and the type of stay needed. The uncleanliness really took away from the other positive things.

Staff was great and did the best they could. The owner of the hotel has not painted, changed out rusted fixtures or updated anything in , it seems, 20 to 30 yrs. Smells!

The front desk staff at check in were very friendly and accommodating. It was a quiet area with little noise from other tenants. The rooms were very clean. I did not eat at the hotel so I can't rate the food. The only problem we encountered were the electrical plugs most would not hold the plug.

nice but needed more to choose from breakfast carpet needed to be a cleaned more

Thank you for giving us some feedback on our property. Our swimming pool is a decent size, it is definitely bigger than a van. It is also clean and very well maintained. It is one of the better pools you will find in the area. We are aware of the issues with the carpets in some rooms. We are in the process of replacing the carpets because we get a lot of guests that come back from the beach and bring sand with them. Sand is really hard on carpeting, and can destroy the fibers. So, we are taking all of our carpets out and replacing them with tile or vinyl, so that we don't have any more issues with damaged carpeting turning socks black. We are sorry that we did not catch the exposed wires on your hair dryer sooner. We have recently replaced the hair dryers in many rooms and were in the process. Thank you for mentioning that we got the problem taken care of for you. In the future, please let the front desk know if another guests activity is bothering you, so that we can confront them and resolve the issue. Until now, we were completely unaware that there were guests outside your room bothering you. We certainly could have asked those guests to move down further. Our breakfast area is a modest size, but we do pack a lot of food into our lobby for breakfast. Even though we have a small area to serve the food, our guests are always welcome to take the breakfast back to their rooms, or use our lounge area for seating. While I understand that it is not ideal for breakfast, we are working with limited space that has many different functions. Thanks again for reviewing our property. We hope you have a wonderful day.
