We were a large family group staying for a long weekend with pets. The house is in a beautiful location with stunning views around and across Ullswater. It is set back from the road, amongst trees so very well hidden and away from other properties. The drive up to the house is very bumpy so take it slowly - red squirrels were out and about near the bend and tumbledown hut which was lovely to see.The house itself is beautiful - very well appointed and comfortable. There was enough space to relax and enjoy company and to share meals in the dining room. There was a welcome pack of goodies in the kitchen when we arrived which was appreciated and was a thoughtful touch by the host - everything you need is provided (except tea towels) within the kitchen - it did get a little cramped though when there were more than 4 people trying to serve or prepare food at a time. All the bedrooms were exceptionally clean and tidy and the beds very comfortable - one drawback when you are a group of adults over 50 were the bunk beds - there are 2 sets of them and are not ideal for use by the older generation. One room with them in was big enough for 2 singles and so would have been better for us but understand that all ages have to be catered for.Heating was easy to use and the property warmed up quickly The short walk to the private beach area is easily accessible and would be a lovely place to sit on warmer evenings enjoying the sunset and a beer.Overall, it was an excellent property.
