This is my first time staying in this hotel for two nights. PROS: Located in Tanjung Bungah, so it's not as far as hotels in Batu Ferringhi when you come from the city or the airport. Quite a few decent cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Beach is relatively clean, but be careful of jellyfish. Food prices in the hotel are reasonable but food quality is just average. Rooms are big and have a small kitchen area (bring your own utensils). Bathroom is big too. Every room has its own balcony. Front reception staff are quite hospitable. CONS: The three lifts/elevators are showing their age. When I was there, only two were in service and so be prepared for quite a wait when the hotel is busy. Rooms are also showing their age and have a slightly musky smell; it's not overpowering, but might offend those with sensitive noses. The bed is just average; it's really time to switch to newer and more comfortable mattresses. And my number one pet peeve: the Internet is slow as molasses. I'm talking an average download speed of 1 MBps (and I thought my house internet was slow at 8 MBps!) The management should really overhaul their Internet. We need at least 25 MBps! Would I stay at this hotel again? Yes, provided they improve what I have highlighted, especially the snail-like Internet!
Although I have not stayed here as a quest, We have been in the hotel on many occasions over the years, On Xmas and new year functions. The Hotel staff are very Obliging and attentive on reception. The meals that we ate were superb and very good value. The service and staff we second to none, The pool area is OK and a short walk through the trees to the beach. Plenty of underground parking. The Local busses run from outside to George Town and Batu Beach area throughout the day, if your staying for a week or more, it's cheaper to get a weekly/Monthly buss pass from the buss depot. It gives you freedom to use all the local busses as well. If you want a taste of real Penang, try "SHIANADA" restaurant, on the opposite side on the main road, Fantastic food, and very keenly priced, Popular with locals and ex-pats, we eat hear very often when we're in Penang and never been disappointed. Have a great trip; and if you've found this helpful, please tick away!!, Thanks BM
The building is old and showing its age in some places. Staff are very good & helpful. Unfortunately I can't say much as it was only one night and I was out most of the day for work only came back to sleep!
When we booked, through a third party, we requested the room we use to stay in, unfortunately when we arrived we were told we couldn’t have it, nor we we offered to upgrade. We were put on the 12 floor, overlooking construction. The room was clean and we spent one night in it. After talking to management we paid the extra to be upgraded to a two room suite. It is nice, however, we could tell the hotel has become worn. Hot water in the shower is luke warm at best. The breakfast is still nice and the beach is clean and pool is nice. Most of the staff are friendly.
After reading varied reviews of the Hotel prior to our visit it came as a very pleasant Surprise to find it was much better than expected ! The staff are very friendly and could not be more helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy with daily cleaning. Some of the rooms are in need of a facelift but this is being carried out as rolling programme of improvement. However, the facilities are good , the location is excellent and if you are looking for good value accommodation this is the place to be. Highly recommended.
All that I can say is Rooms are spacious but not interiors are very average. Pathetic front office assistance while check in. Very Limited parking lots available. Overall it is a average hotel and ok for a short business trip .
Recently I organized Annual Family gathering at this hotel. I was coordinating via email and phone with Mr. Bryan from the sales department the whole time. I was impressed with the level of service which was provided by him. He was very helpful with all the request which I requested even though there were so many changes along the way. Kudos to him and his team. Hotel: Impressed with the hotel condition. Very nice and very near the beach. Good condition. Rooms are awesome view and clean. Service: Good service by the staff but can be improved. Function room: Well maintained however the tables need to be changed as it is very old. Price: Very reasonable
They advertise parking on site. There is insufficient room. Unacceptable to be told to park in a field up the road with no security. Very unhappy. Check in took over an hour. Long queues. Room not very nice at all. Wish we had stayed else where.
Rainbow Paradise Hotel built long ago and understand that they are renovating bit by bit. It is normal....you to upgrade over a period of time. Guest rooms are spacious, clean and overlooking the sea. The staff mainly quite friendly, helpful and obliging. There is a few restaurants opposite the hotel served a variety choice of food even for vegetarian apart from meat dishes. The price is fair for this hotel although it is a bit old but as long as the normal things are in place, it is a good choice hotel in the area. There are other hotels nearby, but their prices are much higher to stay. The food absolutely mainly local cuisine at breakfast and A; la Carte menu for selection.
It was very nice hotel, near the beach and the pool are kids friendly. The location about 8km from city centre ... opposite hotels got restaurants and u can easily find foods. The room are spacious and the view of the sea also very nice. Luckily i get to rent a room from very friendly owner name TEH. A good price for 3 nights.
