We found this hotel to be very nice. It is located in a good place and it would only take 10-15mins to walk to the main sightseeing places. Also, there are lots of food shopping places around the hotel so if you fancy a late evening snack you are able to get it very easily(although McDonald is just in front of the hotel). Moreover, rooms were clean and cosy. The design of the rooms and hotel itself was really lovely, especially the bathroom. We had such a nice view through the window - straight to the Sacré-Cœur. The staff was polite and nice, also helpful towards providing advice on what to see and where to go. We are definitely coming back!

Stayed here for a romantic getaway to Paris and it was very lovely. The staff was super, super friendly and very helpful during all shifts. We had a junior suite which was really nice and very quiet. The hotel is old-fashioned in some respects, like no standing shower and no electronic keys but it's got a lot of personality. The doors are beautiful. The TV selection could do with a bit of updating though I guess you don't stay there to watch TV :) The location is great! It was my first time in Paris and we were right within walking distance of Sacre Coeur which was gorgeous. Montmarte is minutes away on foot as well, which has amaaaaaaazing restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel is simple but does the trick; good food overall and a nice juice and tea selection. If you stay in a junior suite do note that the fireplace is for show! That was a bit disappointing but not the end of the world -- the heating system works just fine :) Very nice overall and highly recommend. Thanks to the staff for a nice stay!

This property is situated in Pigalle area, which could be unsafe at night although it’s walkable distance to Metro station but you have to carry your bags from metro station to the road using stairs, which might not be user friendly with heavy bags. Please do not book from any travel websites such as Expedia, hotels etc since they donot prefer to honour the booking. So even if you have paid these travel websites online and got a confirmation from them, the hotel will deny of receiving any payment at the time of check out and will ask you to pay as per their own rates and ask you to settle the payment made by you to other travel websites yourself. They basically deny of receiving any payment. They even deny the authenticity of the confirmation sent by you to them. So be ready to pay again at the time of check out. Their systems are very poor, they would just everything about your booking and your correspondence with them. Imagine you have come with a budget and surprisingly you are are asked to pay again for the same booking. Their staff is not trained properly, one might feel harassed. Be aware!! There is no proper travel desk. Is money more important than hospitality even if you have received payment then why harass??

We only managed to stay two of the four nights that we were booked because my daughter awoke the second morning to find many bed bugs crawling on her pillows! I've stayed at many hotels, and this is my first encounter with bed bugs. It was horrifying enough that, despite the hotel offering to put her in another room, we immediately changed our travel plans and moved to another hotel. Who wants to move to another room in a place that clearly has bed bugs? My husband had commented from the moment that we arrived in our rooms (we had three rooms rented for five people) that the mattresses were old. They noticeably sag in the middle. I kind of dismissed that as charm for an old European hotel. It never occurred to me that there would be critters crawling in those old mattresses. After the bed bug discovery, someone from the hotel called my daughter to tell her that the bed bugs probably came from the Metro nearby (WHAT?), and that she needed to boil all of her clothes to make sure that they weren't infested. Well, that wasn't exactly helpful since they weren't offering any assistance with her clothing. Nor did they offer to refund the room fee. They also did not offer to help pay for the cab we had to take to get to a new hotel. There was no compensation that they could have offered that would have covered the half day of sightseeing that we lost on our only full not-Christmas day in Paris. But since they didn't offer anything other than switching her to another room, it's not an issue (for them). It's funny that when I informed the woman at the front desk about the bed bugs (and showed her pictures), she said almost all hotels in Paris have bed bugs because of the humidity. The hotel that we moved to, however, showed no signs of old mattresses and bed bugs. Hmm. It's a shame, too, because we liked the charm of this hotel when we arrived. The staff was helpful and nice. I was even willing to ignore the fact that the water in my shower backed up around my ankles every time that I used it. We all chose to ignore the very odd bullet hole in the elevator door. Not sure how that happened, but they should probably get that fixed. I can't recommend this hotel to anyone due to the bugs. And I don't think that the housekeeper who was vacuuming the room that my daughter vacated as we left is going to be enough "extermination."

Hotel is beautiful from outside, great location right next to the metro station, bus stops and a 17 min walk from Gate Du Nord and a 20 min walk up to the Sacre Couer. Very nice welcome. Room very luxurious (great for a romantic couples getaway!). A bit small but bathroom was lovely and a good size. No night noise even though night club/gig venue next door (although I do live in London so maybe am resilient to it). Would recommend.

While somewhat outside the city centre there is plenty to do in the surrounding area and Paris is easily accessible by the metro a hundred metres away. It's not the biggest hotel but the rooms (while looking slightly worse for ware) are very comfortable. If recommend requesting a room on a higher floor as the street outside gets pretty noisy at times (French drivers seem to drive with the horn constantly pressed). The hotel was clean and the housekeeper was very good in turning your room around quickly and to a high standard. All the staff were brilliant and spoke very good English (while also helping with my French). They request you leave the room key when you head out of the hotel (saves being billed for a replacement key) but when they see you coming to reception they quickly retrieve you key to save you waiting (usually without you having to tell them what room you are in which was a nice touch). The staff really were a pleasure and helped make the experience in Paris more fun.

Small rococo style hotel in the middle of the red light district and next to Folies Pigalle nightclub. Overall location was amazing - right in the midst of it. Nice theme that was done really well with individually named rooms, but some elements definitely could do with some renovation - carpets quite threadbare and a few cobwebs here and there. Breakfast in the room was disappointing - a few bread rolls and pastries and some cheese in plastic so would avoid for £15 and go elsewhere. Staff very helpful and friendly. Oh and the room keys are really cool !!!! Nice touch.

I looked forward to staying at Villa Royale on a week long getaway in Paris. I was checked into a room that was filthy! The carpet is disgusting with ground in dirt and dried human fluid stains. The sheer curtains at the window were literally falling apart with dirt and dust. The nightstand next to the bed was glued together and would fall down whenever I attempted to place anything on it. The cleaning staff would barge into my room without knocking despite having a “do not disturb” sign on my door. I repeatedly asked staff to stop this from happening with no results. At one time, the cleaning staff entered my room without knocking just as I was getting out of the bathtub! There was nothing to like about this hotel. It is dirty and the service is poor. I will definitely never will be back!

Not a chain, a real hotel with real people who care. It’s nice. Coco Chanel room was wonderful. Amazing round glass wall around the jacuzzi. It’s a small quaint room but it’s delightful and decorated in pure vintage Parisian style. Bfast was lovely. Only drawback, the rooms are on the street and it can get a smidgen loud. It’s a party spot out there. This is still going to be my #1 spot in Paris from here on out. Fab Dupont

My husband and I spent three nights at Villa Royale. We found Rococo decor very charming and European. The concierge was friendly and spoke excellent English. He made sure that we were not overcharged by taxi drivers whenever we wanted to go somewhere. My husband and I were very pleased with the upgrade we were given because it was our 7th wedding anniversary. We were in the penthouse and our suite was Daliesque. We loved the clouds painted on the cathedral ceiling as well as the tiny lights which looked like stars. There was a jacuzzi large enough for two in the bathroom which we made good use of. My husband felt that there should have been a shower as well. Bathrobes would have been a nice touch. The room was clean and the bed was slightly hard but we didn't mind. Breakfast was underwhelming. If you are bothered by sex shops and strip clubs, then it would be best to find other accommodations. Villa Royale is in the middle of the Pigalle district. This area has many strip clubs and shops selling erotic products. My husband and I didn't mind but we understand that some travelers would be offended by such businesses near their chosen hotel.
