All in all, it is a captivating hotel in the heart of an active night life. Very romantic. I would love to go back and celebrate special romantic occations at this hotel. Nice service, though not all employees speak english.
We had a very good 5 nights stay at Villa Royale. The room had daily cleaning and it was comfortable, with flamboyant decorations. Staff speaks very good english and is kind and helpful. The acces in area is easy, there are two metro lines; very near to Montmartre hill and its epic places.
Staff was nice. Rooms are outdated no air conditioning and water pressure was way off. I travel a lot and it's not a 4 star hotel. I would give it 2.8 stars. I did not see any bugs but very dusty. The decor is ok but is very old. This hotel is not for a young couples who are in late 20's and 30's. Location ok but scary to walk late at night.
The reception is very helpful. They all speak good English. The location is perfect. Just 1min away from the metro station. The room is slightly smaller than my expectation, but I guess it's all the same in Paris. Even it's in a Red-light district, I don't see it as a problem if you are not traveling with kids
When I booked this hotel for my fiancé and I last year, I had not realised it was in the heart of lively Pigalle, and in the red light district. I had been concerned about the safety and noise of staying in this location, but decided to stick with the booking. I'm very glad I did. The location proved to be ideal - very close to a metro stop (less than a minute), and only a short (10 mins) walk to Montmartre, which is a beautiful part of Paris. From my fiancé's room on the fifth floor, you could see the Sacre-Coeur. We did not feel unsafe staying in this hotel or walking around in this district, and we were there for five nights. The only downside was the noise - on Saturday night, the sound of the nightclub on Place Pigalle kept us awake, but on the other nights (Sunday-Wednesday) we were not disturbed and the streets seemed quiet. The hotel itself was very French, and beautifully decorated. The rooms were a good size, clean and with a safe. The bathroom was fine. We didn't stay to try the hotel breakfast, as there were lots of lovely cafes and bakeries within walking distance. By Parisian standards, this hotel is good value for money. If I returned to Paris, I would definitely consider staying at Villa Royale again.
We were very much satisfied. It was very clean and we were having a great time in Paris and in Villa Royale. The location of the hotel was very good because there were a couple of supermarkets and a pharmacy nearby.
Spent s week in the Michaud room on the 6th floor (attic). The room is extremely small and full of furniture: bed, console table, 3 chairs, another table, a bench, 2 night stands. All this furniture takes up 80% of the square footage of the room and makes it even smaller, to the point that literally there is not a good spot left for the actual luggages. Add your luggage on the floor and that is one tight room. Didn't like it at all, probably the smaller room I have ever been in my 20+ years of world travels. Also the AC took 3 days to get to the correct temperature so for half of my week the room was very hot at night and the other half it was comfortable. There is a small light above each nightstands but one of the lights didn't work so we only used one. The lighting in the room is stupid regardless. You have a total of 3 lights for the entire room and they are all wall lights and they are all in the same side of the room. This means that at night half of the room was so dark that you had to use the iPhone light to see where things were. I mean pitch dark! Come on, add one light on the other side of the room! It's that simple! For the money I don't think it's worth it. You surely can do better in any other hotel, be more comfortable and have more space. Now the good news about this hotel is that it was very clean and all the staff was very friendly and very helpful so I have no complaints on that. Also you have the metro literally across the street so that is very convenient. With some small touches this hotel could be much better: get rid of some useless furniture from the room and give me space, fix the lighting so that I can see equally across the entire room and update the thermostats.
A unique getaway for couples looking for something luxurious. With the Jacuzzi tubs and the location in the Monmartre district in Paris (known for adult entertainment and establishments such as the Moulin Rouge), it is definitely a good location for a sensual holiday. Beautiful and uniquely decorated rooms, with a historical feel.
Stayed here in the end of May. Would give it 2 points instead of 3, but I payed for it much below $100 a night in a high touristic season so 3 it is. Forget about 4 star rating. My room was extremely small. Just a bed 1 meter around it all directions. Stains on the carpet and on window dressings. Very small TV and only one English channel (BBC), not counting a russian channel. Restroom was a good size but no adequate shower curtain, just a little wall, all water spread around... Would not come back or recommend to anyone and surprised for high rating this hotel received here (I chose it because of that)! Very good location thought, right at the metro station.
I recently had the pleasure to stay in Villa Royale for a few days and I really enjoyed it. The staff is always available and very kind. The room was beautiful, clean and amazingly decorated, just what I expected and more. The position is also great cause you can reach all the main attractions in short time. I highly recommend it!
