Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Paris5.0 out of 5.0

My husband and I stayed at the Prince de Galles for 4 nights in July during a week's visit to Paris and surrounding locales. From check-in to departure, our stay was a five star experience. The staff was reserved but attentive, attending to every need such that we really never had to make a request for services. We enjoyed a sense of quiet privacy while somehow getting the sense that they knew exactly what we needed before we did. The hotel is beautifully designed and plays perfectly on the building's Art Deco heritage. Furnishings and decor are classy and elegant, also comfortable yet authentic (not standard luxury hotel furnishings, but truly beautiful with many one of a kind or limited edition pieces). Many rooms feature elements hand-crafted by artisans in Paris such as the gold leaf in the Suite d'Or and exotic wood built-in armoires in several other rooms. The breakfast room was cavernous and the food itself a delicious start to the day, again with service that presented before we had to ask for anything. We enjoyed an Art Deco Deluxe Room with a Terrace, which was perfect for sipping champagne after dinner (ok, and for devouring pommes frites -- with champagne -- after the U2 concert at Stade de France one night!). Bed was incredibly comfortable and we never heard a noise from neighbors, although we passed them in the hall so we know we had them! Loved the Christian Lacroix amenities in the bath and all the artisan touches that made it an elegant space. All around a great stay and location was excellent on Avenue Georges V. Less hustle and bustle than at the Four Seasons next door -- and we enjoyed that greater sense of privacy and personal attention without feeling as though we missed out on any experience of luxury.
Old school 5 star hotel, all the necessary amenities and services offered by a 5 star hotel. Very good location. Breakfast buffet is mediocre but service and setting is great. Very nice courtyard for drinks/ coffee etc. Definitely a nice place and will keep it on my pied a terre list in Paris
Excellent Concierge team that provided all the recommendations we needed, it was couture week and the Lunch/dinner spots were filling up quickly, the Prince de Galles team made sure we did get the reservations we asked for. The rooms are very pretty and luxurious, however I would not say very spacious. We were not facing the street as we were told that it would be noisy, however the rooms facing the other side did have construction noise early in the morning.
It was our second stay at the Prince De Galles and it was just as good as the first. The art of luxury hospitality is mastered at this wonderful hotel and I love every minute of staying with them. We stayed in the Mosaic suite again which was perfection. Spacious and luxurious, no detail has been overlooked. All requests no matter how big or small, are handled by the staff with ease. I have to commend the housekeeping team on their consistent turn down service and thorough cleaning. We subsequently had useless housekeeping at our hotel in Cannes and it really has the ability to ruin ones stay. So well done housekeeping! The location is so perfect, you really couldn't wish for more! A true luxury experience and attention to detail at its finest! Thank you Leon and your team for the most wonderful stay. We will be back!
This was my second visit to this property. It is a stunning hotel and the location cannot be beat! However this hotel is catering to clientele with unlimited wealth. Having said that all incidentals extra mini bar restaurant are out rages sleep priced! €45 for a club sandwich at the bar. Need I say more? also I travel all over the world and I have to say I'm both of my visits here I found the staff not particularly warm.
Although I am a fairly regular visitor to Paris I was not familiar with this property which has been somewhat overshadowed by its neighbor the George V. Second fiddle no longer, the Prince de Galles deserves its own fame thanks to a very friendly and competent staff with particular kudos owed to the Concierge...always the true test of a great hotel, which this hotel definitely is.
Stayed at the Prince de Galles for three nights. The location is perfect. The lobby is fine, nothing too luxurious or extravagant, but we didn’t spend much time in the lobby. Our room was very nice – a roof-top room with a balcony facing the other rooftop rooms/balconies. It was described to us as “very quiet” and indeed it was. It was also a long walk from the elevator. The room was fairly large with a small entrance hall and nicely decorated in quiet deco luxury; marble bath with great shower! The balcony had a table and chairs and we enjoyed it when it wasn’t raining. Breakfast at the main restaurant included pretty much everything you would expect. The bar was very pretty with comfortable seating for small and large groups. We had a fabulous special occasion dinner at La Scene that none of us will soon forget! Service all around was top notch – including Easter egg turn down treats on Easter Sunday!
The Prince de Galles hotel is a premier luxury property in the heart of Paris. It is neighbors with the famous George V. I have stayed at both and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite. Pricey to say the least but you are in Paris, hopefully more than once. If you cannot afford either hotel a drink in the lobby bar is a great start to an evening out in Paris. You are walking distance from the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Arc de Triumphe and all metro connections. One night we even strolled back from dinner at a restaurant near Notre Dame. An aggressive stroll down the Seine but totally do-able in flats for women and dress shoes for men. There is nothing like a stroll down the river at night with all of the landmarks lit up.
Our third stay at the now-renovated Prince de Galles this year, every visit surpassing expectations. The Art Deco scheme of the hotel has been tremendously freshened by the recent makeover, and all the rooms we have stayed in have been spacious, with copious room in the closets, beautifully tiled bathrooms, and comfortable furnishings. Rooms with balconies overlook the Avenue George V and a tremendous Parisian city and skyscape. The bar is elegant, the restaurant provides an ample breakfast in comfortable surroundings, and the staff are universally friendly and welcoming, particularly in the (say it again) updated, early 20th century lobby. A very special place for a Parisian stay.
Service, service and service. This is what the hotel is all about. They seem to be a step ahed of you and know what you want before you want it. Laura(I hope I got her name right) was so helpful that whatever I say wont be enough. One thing though...the amount you spend here for a standard room, one can easily get a suite in a 5 star hotel...still this is an amazing hotel.
