The Mercure Versailles Parly 2 Hotel is located next to the Parly 2 Commercial / Retail centre in Le Chesnay. It's just off the main road, and has its own free private parking at the back of the hotel. Our room was adequate but not especially spacious, having a large bed though not as comfortable as other Mercures we've stayed at before. The en-suite facility was nice and clean, although the shower attachment over the bath was rather oddly placed, so you might spray water into the bathroom if you weren't careful. There was a plentiful breakfast buffet in the morning, including hot choices if you wanted them. Being in a commercial area, the hotel doesn't have "cosy" restaurants nearby, but reception kindly recommended several choices in walking distance. We chose to go to Hippopotamus which is a chain that serves mainly steaks and burgers - meals, drinks, service and value all very acceptable without being special. On getting back, we couldn't get a drink at the hotel bar, which had closed by just after 9pm on Sunday. What we did like about the Mercure Parly 2 was its free parking away from the extremely busy centre of Versailles, and the fact you could get Bus H into Versailles from a stop across the road, for just 2 Euro. It was also very easy to get back onto the A86 Paris ring road when we left the hotel to return home.
Got to the hotel nice welcome as a rule Mercury hotels are very very good nice room very clean ok for one night wouldn't stay two nights tea and coffee in the rooms bonus always do the rooms could do with a refurbishment the fan above the inner door could do with a good clean also could be a health risk I think bathroom could do with a tidy up plenty of free car parking which makes a difference from other hotels one night stay €125 free welcome drink free French breakfast for over 60s good idea they have for that not bad for the money as this is France would I come here again only if I had to. No electric shaver sockets in the bathroom but there is plenty of sockets around the room just room service for something to eat apart from going down for breakfast in the morning room service menu is ok if you're not English
Really enjoyed staying here. Rooms were lovely and the shopping centre across the road is extremely handy. Stayed here as part of a group that was attending the horse racing at Chantilly. If I had one complaint it was probably that the temperature was too high in the breakfast room.
We stayed at this hotel last weekend . Breakfast is 6.30-10.30 but our group had to eat at 7.30- no flexibility or negotiation. Actual breakfast was at best average. There were not enough croissants for everyoto have one. No toaster. The fruit was awful. On our last day there was a bunch of green grapes that had turned brown- that was it , no other fruit. If we asked for more hot water we were met with a surly attitude and rudeness. I would not recommend this hotel at all. The bar had no gin ! It was supposed to close at 1 am but rude barman pulled down shutters at midnight . Stay away from this hotel.
Stayed a couple nights with the family. Small, comfortable but outdated rooms that do need a refresh. Breakfast was also reasonable however limited. One day they ran out of baguettes! Not a lot to do around here. About 10 mins from Versailles. Reception staff were nice and helpful.
Excellent room and staff very friendly and well informed Breakfast was French-as you expect in a French hotel but very high quality Would certainly return on any visit to Paris - even got a shopping centre close by
The location is very good - a nice, quite, fancy neighbourhood. My room was standard, was ok . What I have to remark - above average on the room and very clean. The breakfast was either too French (not very my style), either too British (idem), limited as options as well as identical within 4 days, but good both as quality as well as quantity. My nok remark is for missing of the restaurant activity within the evening, so were forced to go somewhere else.
The staff of the hotel are friendly, extremely helpful and very responsive. I would say the service is simply perfect, and made our stay much more pleasant. The location is great, right next to a shopping mall and within a short bicycle ride of the Royal Palace and Gardens. Free parking was a great bonus, and one of the reasons why we chose this hotel. It is a nice feature. Breakfast was nice. It is average in variety, of decent quaility, and the coffee is particularly good. A downside is that the rooms and furniture are dated, and in need of renovation. Also, it deserves special mention that the beds are hard. If you like a firm mattress you are in luck. This is not just firm. It is, hands down, the hardest mattress I have ever slept on... and I have slept before, literally, on the armor plating of an APC. I have to say, however, that the staff was very kind and provided us with an extra comforter to place on the mattress and make it a little more yielding. I can't say enough good things about the hotel staff and their service. We are very grateful to them for their assistance. The dated furniture and hard bed are the only things that bring our review down from 5 stars to 4. Everything else about the hotel was great.
Very comfortable stay with very helpful and attentive staff. The room was clean and tidy with the facilities provided being spot on. The whole experience was easy and relaxing which both complemented and facilitated a busy business trip.
