Love this boutique hotel. Comfortable room and bed. Excellent value. Nice and helpful staff. And the metro was right there with 3 lines so very convenient location. Hotel laundry is very pricey but found a great laundromat a couple blocks away.
The location of this hotel was great, it was on the edge of le marais right near the Bastille. One nice thing we enjoyed was eating in the Bastille neighborhood which had great cafes at reasonable prices. As far as the hotel goes we were fortunate enough to have a room on the 5th floor which had a nice little balcony with views of the Bastille and even the top of the Eiffel tower in the distance. For paris i thought this was an affordable option and I would recommend it if you are ok with a small but clean room.
Great Hotel. Patient staff. Steps from the #1 Metro line which is the best in Paris. 2 minutes to Place des Vosges and the rest of the Marais. Breakfast was a nice time saver one early morning. And resonably priced in my opinion for this level of hotel. I would not hesitate to stay again.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Loved they had a room with three single beds in one room for our X3 girly trip to Paris. Funky and individual with very helpful reception staff. I will be coming back here at a later date with my family!
This is either a bed and breakast hotel or a boutique hotel regardless it is cute but needs a few upgrades. I actually had to stay in two rooms because i made a mistake with my eurostar reservation. The first room had a tube in the area where u sleep and i didnt like that the second one was big enough for a family of four with the toilet in a seperate room from the shower and sink and im not sure i care for that either. So why the four well it is in a great location. Bastille station is just a couple of doors down. Plenty of restaurants and other nightlife in walking distance. But the real reason i give it a four is the young fellow that worked the front desk on may 25th and may 26th and the other staff members. It would take several pages to explain what i went through to get to paris from london after i messed up my train reservation and another to explain the many calls i made to him first to cancel my reservation then calls to see if i could keep my reservation which at first was no they already gave up the room i had but he took the time to try to find other hotel rooms than finally worked his existing reservations to help someone that really wanted to see Versailles while in europe. He was patient, accommodating and really had a great personality for this business. I also work customer service and i know how demanding the job can be. And this by far the best staff i have ever encountered at any hotel. Friendly, helpful and always with pleasant smiles. I hope they dont change
My wife and I had an excellent stay at Originale--friendly and helpful staff, delightful (and off-beat) decor, wonderful location. Although located on a main avenue ( an interesting and non-touristy one!) the rooms are very well insulated for sound and are very quiet. We will return with great pleasure!
Room was clean and nice. Disappointed with the breakfast as only had scrabble eggs and bacon. No sausage or beans lacking of variety. Staff was friendly and can speak English. Location was near all the bar and restaurant.
Stay here for the weekend We had a lovely room on the 3rd floor. The staff were very helpful. It’s in a great location to explore Paris with plenty of bistro/restaurants near by. Would stay here again.
The decor of this hotel is like Virgin Airlines meets Alice in Wonderland. It is wonderfully funky with multiple styles of rooms (which are displayed in shadow boxes on the lobby wall). I ate the breakfast at the hotel once. It seemed pretty good, the coffee wasn’t terrible and I liked the chocolate croissant. As for a bar, there isn’t one in the hotel in a traditional sense. Rather the hotel has different alcohol options out on a counter and you help yourself and then go to the front desk to report the drink you made and pay for it there. I am currently pregnant so I didn’t try this system out, but I thought it sounded cool. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is steps away from the Bastille #8 subway entrance, which is large and provides easy access to wherever you might want to go. The surrounding neighborhood has a number of bars and restaurants to choose from but I did feel that the area was too busy and lacked the charm that some other neighborhoods in Paris have. But since the subway was right there, it was easy to get away and go eat and explore the cuter areas. I purchased my hotel stay from Expedia which lists this hotel as one of the VIP deals. If you are considering staying here, I suggest checking the price on Expedia as it might be up to 30% less than some other websites.
I would most definitely recommend this great little hotel and it’s location. Everything was organised and the staff very friendly and attentive. The lady behind reception was very helpful and found a solution to an issue we had. Breakfast was simple but we loved, everything we wanted was catered for. Very clean hotel and stylishly decorated. Would definitely book again when in paris.
