This place is a dump. Very small. No shower except a hand held noozle. No shower curtain. No place to even hand toilet tissue. Has to be on back of toilet. Very, very overpriced for what you get. Halls are dark. At best it is a 1 star hotel. Should be embarrassed to charge what they charge for this room.
Dingy, DIY, too pricey for what it is (3 * - good luck to find the 3rd) I struggle to understand how the French grant stars to their hotels!!! The reception staff is polite and all spoke English at the time of my visit. This is to me the only good point of the stay, the rest being from bad to average. The bedrooms are not very large it is true and the bathroom was tiny. In the bedroom, you will find a build in wardrobe with a safe, a TV (didn't try it), a leaky air-con unit and mismatch furnitures. A fridge contained 1/2 consumed products and I dared not use it. The bathroom was clean in arrival, but in dire need of refurbishment. Access to plugs was not great and could easily be improved. Corridors had a typical HLM look (that's French council estate), even the elevator worked sporadically. Overall, The place could be greatly improved if work was carried over by a real contractor. It all seemed very DIY to me... The price and 3* rating do not reflect the quality of the hotel, much more akin to a budget 2*.
I visit Paris regularly for work and chose this hotel due to the location. The reception area is fine, but the rooms are very disappointing. beds are hard and the bathrooms need to be upgraded. The room is clean, but there is a very strong smell of disinfectant in the room I stayed in. For the price I feel there are much better options in the area.
This is at best a 2 star hotel. I had a broke squueky bed, bathroom facilities were dirty and the was a red stain on the door that looked like blood. I did complain to the night shift worker but he didn't care. The other staff were great though when looking after luggage.
We were three adults travelling together, spending three nights in Paris. The room was booked through an interrailing company. It was tiny, couldn't swing a cat in it. Wasn't nearly enough storage for 3 adults with back packs. It consisted of a double and single bed with about 2 foot between them. Bathroom was at the end of the double bed where the door couldn't fully open as there was only about another 2 foot here. There was air conditioning. Location was ok as there was a metro near by but you wouldn't walk into centre of Paris or make multiple trips in and out as it would take too long. Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice too. Room was clean.
Great if you are looking for a reasonably prices hotel in Paris. Rooms are basic, but clean and were dressed everyday. Great location too, not too close to the center but 10 minute walk from the main train station and 5 minutes to the nearest metro which is relatively easy to navigate around. Breakfast again was a basic continental breakfast but it was perfectly sufficient to set you up for the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful so no complains there. All in all a good stay
Rooms were very congested and so was the room passages and lobbys. The facilities were good and Beds comfortable. Breakfast was below average. The people at reception kept changing at times. from which 2 of them were very helpful and polite, Overall a OK hotel for the price range they offer or when you want to explore paris whole day and just need a room to Bed and Breakfast.
Booked a family room. Exceeded expectations as received 2 fairly large both ensuite rooms adjacent behind a small hall and one entry door. The beds were comfy. The decor was tasteful and quirky. We checked in late after long drive up from South France and were greeted by surly night Porter. Be wary .... Parking is a nightmare (took me over 30 mins at 1am) and this still 3 streets away. Very noisy street; as described by hotel ... Heart of Paris!
A very small hotel with ultra small rooms and bathrooms. Get like a hotel in a house. Not that great placement too. However the staff was friendly which made the stay a bit more comfortable Must say better options are available Uma city like Paris
The Hauteville hotel offers you rooms that overlook everyday Paris living. The hustle and bustle of everyday Paris dwellers from their early morning chatter to the late night frollicking in the restaurants on the street below. Makes you want to get up and out to share in their exurberance for life! The rooms are NOT big, the shower takes some manouevring for tall ones but the ambience makes up for all that. Being used to spacious homes this was truly an adventure for our family of 4! According to my son the breakfast areas was a dungeon like in the many games he played. Even the tight spiral staircase down was a fun experience each morning. The staff give back what you give them, so a smile greeted us each morning with some quick French lessons! The Hotel location allows you to safely explore on foot or get to the nearest subway. If you enjoy new experiences and want to experience Paris like a local, Hauteville is perfect!
