Great if you are looking for a reasonably prices hotel in Paris. Rooms are basic, but clean and were dressed everyday. Great location too, not too close to the center but 10 minute walk from the main train station and 5 minutes to the nearest metro which is relatively easy to navigate around. Breakfast again was a basic continental breakfast but it was perfectly sufficient to set you up for the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful so no complains there. All in all a good stay
Rooms were very congested and so was the room passages and lobbys. The facilities were good and Beds comfortable. Breakfast was below average. The people at reception kept changing at times. from which 2 of them were very helpful and polite, Overall a OK hotel for the price range they offer or when you want to explore paris whole day and just need a room to Bed and Breakfast.
Booked a family room. Exceeded expectations as received 2 fairly large both ensuite rooms adjacent behind a small hall and one entry door. The beds were comfy. The decor was tasteful and quirky. We checked in late after long drive up from South France and were greeted by surly night Porter. Be wary .... Parking is a nightmare (took me over 30 mins at 1am) and this still 3 streets away. Very noisy street; as described by hotel ... Heart of Paris!
A very small hotel with ultra small rooms and bathrooms. Get like a hotel in a house. Not that great placement too. However the staff was friendly which made the stay a bit more comfortable Must say better options are available Uma city like Paris
The Hauteville hotel offers you rooms that overlook everyday Paris living. The hustle and bustle of everyday Paris dwellers from their early morning chatter to the late night frollicking in the restaurants on the street below. Makes you want to get up and out to share in their exurberance for life! The rooms are NOT big, the shower takes some manouevring for tall ones but the ambience makes up for all that. Being used to spacious homes this was truly an adventure for our family of 4! According to my son the breakfast areas was a dungeon like in the many games he played. Even the tight spiral staircase down was a fun experience each morning. The staff give back what you give them, so a smile greeted us each morning with some quick French lessons! The Hotel location allows you to safely explore on foot or get to the nearest subway. If you enjoy new experiences and want to experience Paris like a local, Hauteville is perfect!
I was at the hotel on a school trip with my (well behaved) students. We arrived at noon, but couldn't check in, so we just re-confirmed the arrangement of our rooms. When we arrived at 9 p.m. we found out that 1 single room was missing, I should have shared it with my colleague, in spite of written and spoken previous arrangements. Only after a lot of hassle and tough discussion the single room became available. The rooms are separated by thin partitions of plaster board, which means that you hear every whisper and that each time someone showers or uses the hair dryer it is like having it in your room. Cleanliness just ok, if you are not too particular about it. Very average breakfast. All male receptionists pretty impolite and inefficient, while we were waiting for our bus to come sitting in the hall and using our smartphones the receptionist switched off the wi-fi connection, just to give us a taste of the consideration they have for their guests.
this hotel has small rooms, water from bathroom after shower go out to the bedroom... The worst that could happen is the bugs on mattresses that u wake up the second day with allergy all over ur neck and have to heal it with cortisone.... not only this, the same lady who cleans bathrooms and make beds also prepares ur breakfast.... to tell u the truth, if u wanna go to paris and have no choice but to go to this hotel then don't go
Hotels in Paris come in 2 flavours: basic or mega-expensive.This one falls into the former category. Having said that, the staff are friendly and helpful, and are more than happy to help you out with your French,;or in my case, give it up as a bad job and speak English. Paris, like NY, space is at a premium, and the size of the rooms reflect that fact. We were here for a few days, and I had set myself a task of attempting to get The Madame who presided over the breakfast service to smile at the punters occasionally. I failed miserably in that quest, I'm afraid to admit. The only serious downside to The Hauteville is the lack of proximity to the nearest Metro, which would be a 'bit of a hike' if you have heavy bags.Overall, we enjoyed it.
I will start saying that the hotel is pretty decent, with average rooms and clean bathrooms, and more or less well located. I must say I didn't have any problems myself, but my brother and his family were given by mistake a couple of rooms for two adults and two children. When we returned to the hotel after seeing the city, they found that one of the rooms were given to other people and their belongings were moved without their permission. They were given access to both the rooms and we all assumed they had the right to have the two of them. It was anyway their mistake and they never admitted it, they refused to apologise for all the trouble caused and even suggested that they occupied two rooms illegally. We therefore found this hotel disappointing.
From arrival to the departure the service was simply impeccable. They did not only serve you for the stay in the hotel but always willing to assist with anything and i mean anything you asked about the city from the cheaper 13 to 17 Euros when you buy 10 metro tickets.
