This hotel was recommended by a friend...and it was perfect for our stay in Paris. Rooms are very small but clean and adequate. Staff are very friendly and willing to help. Room faced road and was above a sidewalk café which was a bit noisy. No air conditioners...only a fan...and it was hot! Otherwise a great place to stay.Very close to Metro station and train station.

The hotel is situated very closely to the metro station and has an abundance of Restuarants in close proximity! We walked from the main centre of Paris home and it was a most enjoyable walk albeit long! Hotel room are clean and the serve a filling breakfast!

This is the first hotel we've stayed at in France and it was a great experience. The front desk staff were amazing, friendly, and gave us some advice on recommendations on where to go in the neighbourhood. The rooms are older and smaller than the Canadian hotels we are used to which is as to be expected here from what I've read. But they were nicely decorated, clean, and had air conditioning. We had a great view from our top (6th) floor room and could see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. We took the RER from the airport which was very convenient and cost 10€ and then a bus three stops from the RER station to the hotel for 1.80€ but in hindsight it would have been a short walk. From the hotel, it was just over an hour to walk to the Eiffel Tower and about 25 minutes to Notre Dame. But there are lots of transit options nearby including the Les Gobelins Metro station.

Nice place and room, despite the small space. Clean bathroom, nice personnel and good breakfast. Good location close enough to different metro and bus stations. I would suggest this hotel for single travellers and couples. Given the small rooms I would say it is a good stay for 1 to 3 nights.

My fiance and I stayed at this quaint but very charming little hotel to celebrate our engagement! The staff are very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ring a taxi for the airport for us and opened the breakfast bar slightly earlier than usual to make sure we had had a bite to eat before our trip home. The hotel is just a 10 minute ride down the Seine on a very reasonably priced Batobus to landmarks such as Notredame, the Louvre and a little further to the Eiffel tower. This hotel is perfect for a short stay to explore of beautiful Paris!

I stayed in this hotel for a week as a solo traveler and would definitely recommend it for what it is: a good little economic hotel in a fun neighborhood. Rue Mouffetard is only a few blocks away and filled with markets/ fresh food and little shops. There are numerous supermarkets and boulangeries within a few blocks of the hotel and the Metro stop is a short 5 min walk. The rooms are tiny but there was enough space to unpack my suitcase and store it in the corner for the week. The bathroom was good size and the staff was helpful.

Just back from a weekend at this lovely little hotel. I went with a friend and our room was on the 5th floor. The room was on the smallish side but perfectly adequate with really comfortable beds, decent sized wardrobe with a safe and tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was a bit of a tight squeeze but lovely and powerful. The four staff we met during our stay could not have been more friendly or helpful. Best of all, it cost us just over £30 per night each - unbelievable value in a capital city. It's just 3 minutes from Metro des Gobelins and there's a supermarket and patisserie close by. There is also a nice bar next door. We would definitely go back.

This wasn't a horrible hotel, but it wasn't amazing. Pretty good location near grocery stores and restaurants. Quick uber to anywhere you need to go. The one thing I found extremely weird was that they wanted us to leave our room key with the front desk every time we left the hotel. I felt really uncomfortable doing that, so I didn't. The front desk reminded me that I had to when I returned. Glad we only stayed one night before moving to our next destination. The room itself was a good size, and the bathroom was huge with heated towel rack. If you need an affordable place to stay, it's a decent value, but you definitely get what you pay for. I wouldn't stay here again.

I should have writen this reviews earlier as it happened during the end of Jan, as I planned to leave no comment until I have received Expedia's solution regarding this issue. But, till now, I didn't see this issue has been solved and not satisfied with the feedback the hotel offered. My complaints are as below: 1. The room is different as the pictures. You can see the room pictures I uploaded for your reference. The size and layout are different as the pictures on the expedia website. We have very limited place to move in the room.It is very shabby. 2. The receptionist overcharged us I accidentally booked 1 adult classic double room on Expedia as I booked through Eurostar. I think the system automatically categorized me as 1 adult as I booked Eurostar tickets for 1 person, but I stayed at hotel with my friend. I didn't realise until the receptionist asked us to pay Euro20/night for extra person on the second day we went back hotel. I was fine to pay the extra as it was my problem and accidentally booked 1 adullt for double room . But when I went back to check the rate , the difference between 1 and 2 adult for a class double room was only £4. We negotiated then end up paying 1 night for extra person as he didn't raise that up when first time we checked in. But it was still unfair to pay more than the actual rate. You can see my uploaded screen shot of the 1 and 2 adult double room difference. 3.The staff's attitude The staff I want to complain is the one who is on the night shift, a guy, brown. The other staffs were all very nice. On the first day we checked in ,we realized the romm was different as we saw on the expedia website. He said they didn't have any other rooms left and insisted the room we checked in is exactly same as it shown on the pictures. when we asked for changing the room.He told us this is Paris or we can just leave. I think we have a bit arguement. Then on the second day we went back hotel, he asked us to pay £20/night for extra person. I am fine to pay the extra person when I realised I accidentally book 1 adult, but he made us feel like he was doing this because of the arguement on the day before as he was keeping saying it was you shouting blah blah.I have no idea how he defined shouting, I was not shouting, but I admitted we had a bit arguement. And to be honest, we were just 2 girls and stayed in the place we were not familar with. We won't take risk of shouting a guy in somewhere not our own country and also we can't speak their lanuage.Besides, English is not our first language as well. How can we shout? Then we said we were good to pay it but we would perfer to pay Expedia rather than them or we can call Expedia now. He said if you were not paying right now , your friend can't stay and she had to leave. It was almost 11pm. We are just 2 girls. For the sake of safety, we paid in the end. The whole experience in Grand Hotel des Gobelins was very terrible and the worst one in my life so far. The staff's attitudes, overcharging us and difference between reality and the pics made me feel not respected. Since I booked through Eurostar automitically ,I don't have an account on expedia. I can't leave review on expedia.(I have already reported this to expedia and asked for fix this). So Tripadvisor is the only place I can leave comments so far.

You are a few minutes walk from more than one metro station and very close to the Jardin des Plantes and the Seine. Its a small but friendly hotel. I was on my own and my room was small but adequate with a reasonable sized bed, a TV(which has no English language channels), a decent shower and breakfast which I opted not to have in favour of the brasserie right next door. Staff were helpful and friendly and I got a very good rate. Would definitely use again.
