Austin's Arts et Métiers Hôtel

The hotel is small, but comfortable, not cramped. It was clean, the staff friendly, and while a modest place, it was all I needed. The location is great and EXTREMELY easy to reach from the drop off by RoissyBus at Opera, then a single subway train to the Arts et Metiers stop, up from the subway and it's across the street from one of the two exits at that stop. The wonderful Industrial Arts museum is about 100 feet away. It's a 20-minute walk to Notre Dame, or a quick subway ride to the incomparable Museum of Comparative Anatomy. :). There's a Carrefour market a 2-minute walk away and the pub across the street is good. I'd absolutely stay there again.

This is clean, comfortable, friendly hotel in a good central location. Nothing luxurious here, but the room was spacious (by European standards) and bright with ample storage and a decent bed. The bathroom had a lovely large shower. The staff was attentive and accommodating of my poor French. A complementary petit dejeuner is served in the basement, but I never tried it. The elevator is minuscule (4 passengers max), so if you're traveling in a larger group that might be an annoyance.

Simple room but larger than most I've stayed in in Paris. Breakfast fare ranges from breads and pastries to yogurts and fruits. For the price (10 euros on 10/2014), it is a good, convenient deal to get ready for a day of walking and touring. Coffee and juice are also included. 24-hour reception is friendly and helpful for any local questions. An easy walk to the Marais and the Chatelet/Les Halles areas where your dining and entertainment options range from touristy to trendy.

Rooms are clean & come with blow dryer and minimal hygiene kit. Free Wi-Fi & friendly staff. Free steps from metro station and great Boulangerie. Non - touristy neighborhood gives you the real feel of Paris.

I enjoyed a lovely stay in Paris with a convenient location, very clean and comfortable room, and a helpful friendly staff. You can't go wrong!

I would suggest this hotel for sure. Price vs value is certainly great. Excellent location. One can actually walk to all sightseeings in downtown. The room was actually in decent size, although bathroom was small. Again, this is very Parisian - nothing large as US there at all. If you over 250 lbs then there might be a problem to get into shower room. Internet connection was great. Breakfast was so so, but for 10 euros there was nothing better in the neighborhood, so I would certainly recommend.

This is a great deal. Clean rooms, great shower, very conveniently located. I would avoid the breakfast as you can eat more cheaply elsewhere.

This is a small, well-kept at the Arts et Metiers metro stop in Paris. The surrounding area is nice with several cafes, stores, etc. (not to mention Musee des Arts et Metiers) and a short walk or metro ride from major tourist attractions. The room was quite small, but clean and comfortable. There's free and functional wireless internet. Staff members can speak English well. My only complaint is that they asked you to leave your key at the desk when leaving the building. This did not turn out to be a problem as the desk is staffed 24/7, but I prefer to hold the key myself. If you're just looking for a relatively cheap place that you won't spend a whole lot of time in, this is a great choice. But, if you're looking to spend a lot of time in a fancy hotel with a lot of amenities, this is not place for you.

Staff friendly and courteous, but minimally helpful with concierge services and watched without offer of help as we struggled with heavy luggage. Still figuring out how to get around Paris from hotel on our 3rd night, still finding out about hotel amenities (and we know Paris a little) - an orientation to services would have been helpful. Hotel makes a big deal of being "green" and they have a sign up in bathroom on how to re-use towels. Then, they provided pink toilet paper, whose dye was not kind to ladies' delicate areas AND washed the towels (twice) that we had left hanging up, per hotel instructions, so that they could be re-used. A complaint: is the 14 euros we were charged for "booking" an airport shuttle. It took the front desk guy about 2 minutes. As we were traveling together, the extra $7.00 charge was really over the top. This should not even be a charge. Next time I will stay in an apartment!

I don't know how you do flights and hotel (6 nights) in Paris with quality and inexpensively, but we did it and thanks for the arrangements. The hotel was several blocks away from the Seine but we stayed in a neighborhood in the Marais district and it was fabulous. Very good locale for meeting locals and living like a Parisian.

The hotel is very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the location is great (a five-minute walk to Pompideau and right next to the metro). The breakfast is outstanding. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone planning a visit to Paris.

Went on Holiday and Had a blast! The hotel is a block or so from Le Marais. The Metro is right out side the door. Minuets to get to Notre Dame. This was a great Hotel for its price. The only Fault, they charge if you want to have a guest spend the night. but other than that I highly recommend it! Will love to stay there again.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, modern room with many nice features, in a convenient location in the Marais but also very quiet. There was a computer in the lobby where we could check email (no charge). Best of all, they had a breakfast room that in addition to croissants and jam, also included hard-boiled eggs, cheese, yogurt and some fruit, which made it easier for me to eat gluten-free. There's always someone at the front desk, and they ask you to leave your key - so we didn't have to worry about losing it.

Four day get-away with my wife. We are both experienced European travelers. This had all the necessities including a great breakfast and internet access. It was clean, the service good, and it was right next to the Metro and some cafe's. We got all over town from there without a problem. Exceeded my expectations of a 3-star hotel. Windows were tight so the noise was not a problem at night. We would definitely go again.

LOVED IT ALL

Nice location, Clean rooms, quiet rooms, no noise Rooms quite small, receptionists unfriendly.

We have been back to this same hotel 4 times. It's clean, has helpful staff that speaks English although we are French speakers, is central in Paris, close to Metro ( only @ 100 ft. away), has Wi/Fi that works, is relatively inexpensive, has new A/C system. We recommend this hotel to friends and family. There is a coin laundry a block away.

We really enjoyed out stay at this hotel. Our room was very clean and well maintained and very comfortable. We stayed on the interior of the hotel so we did not have a view of the street, just a "light-well courtyard" which is not very scenic. However because of this our room was super quiet and dark at night which was important to us. If you want a view of the street be sure to request that!

Great location. 10min walk to the Seine. Right on the metro and bus routes. Safe area with cafes that are filled with hip young people until late. Staff are very friendly and low key. It was a nice pad for our Paris exploration.

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon. The location and price were the most important criteria for us, and this hotel had both. The rooms were very small, and the walls were thin, so it might not be the right choice for other honeymooners. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place. But our room was clean, the bathroom was nice and newly updated, and big enough to move around in and store a few cosmetics. It had a shower only. The location of the hotel is bit off the beaten path - it's in a neighborhood, just off a busy street. It's very close to one Metro Station (Arts et Metiers) and few blocks from another (Reamur et Sebastapol), so we were able to take the train wherever we wanted to go. It also had good small grocery stores within a block or two. It had air conditioning, but the power switch didn't work, so we opened the window. Had it been warmer, I'm sure we could have asked the staff to turn it on for us. We had a room off of the courtyard - it would probably have been noisier in the rooms facing the street. The staff was very helpful and courteous, and spoke English. We had free wi-fi access in our room, and a computer for guest use in the lobby. Both functioned well. The breakfast was very heavy on the carbohydrates (rolls and croissants,) but they did have hard-boiled eggs, cheese and yogurt. We'd definitely stay here again.
