Unfortunately, my original review was censored by Orbitz, so can't go into details, but felt that this hotel had gone from good to distinctly mediocre: - Local specialities had gone from the breakfast menu- which was distinctly uninspiring - Only one restaurant remains open - External windows grimy - Despite requests, room appliances not maintained - The hotel made great play of offering a free taxi service within a 2km radius during the daytime. I was a victim of bait and switch, being charged an extortionate amount for a very short ride despite previous assurances that I was getting a free service. Despite reporting this to the concierge, the hotel took no action.

We went there to celebrate my birthday and the staff were amazing particularly Lillie and Oliver. Breakfast is pretty good and the pool area is a nice place to lounge.
Love the hotel. Staff are extremely helpful & pleasant! Carpet in room definitely needs cleaning. Inconsistent with providing towels, washcloths and glasses in room.
Tbe Waldorf Astoria in Panama city Panama was wonderful. The staff Mr. Oliver and Mrs. Margarita were excellent. The room was big, beautiful and very clean. Great location to be able to get to all attractions and the staff are very informative of this to do in Panama. I hope to go next yr again and stay at the Waldorf again.

First let me be clear this is not a Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Not even close. This is at best a 3-4 star hotel with a 5 star name. This as supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. There was smoking everywhere. The suite that we got was supposed to have an ocean view. However our view was blocked by a tall building in front of our window. So much for the ocean view. The breakfast was horrible. Despite paying for a suite with breakfast we went across the street to a waffles place for breakfast because the food and the smell in the dinning area was miserable. Whatever excuse anyone gives it should not matter. This hotel is labeled as a Waldorf and the prices show it. I would not stay here again and I don't recommend anyone staying here. You can get a better room at a different hotel in the city with a better location and view at a cheaper price.
The hotel wants to be nicer than it actually is. There is a lot of dirty wallpaper, some of our room items didn’t work well, other things-carpet, bench in room-were also dirty. Overall everything was comfortable, but the Waldorf Astoria evokes a higher quality experience than we received.
The Waldorf Astoria in Panama has a great location and excellent amenities. The staff goes out of their way to help and would definitely recommend.
Over-all very pleasant. Some odd omissions such as towel racks and bathroom hooks. I would like to see recycling and -- in English -- some explanation of how light panels work.
