Would not stay here unless adjustments were made.

This area is beautiful, the location on the cape, and the house on the beach are perfect. BUT— the inside is rough. The furniture looks like it was put together from a yard sale, broken and worn out couches, no tv remotes, prison like beds, thin plastic shower curtains, an assortment of porch furniture, all surrounded by water damage throughout the house. We saw a review prior to our final payment and thought for sure adjustments would be made, but that was not the case. These are all fixable things, but it is going to take the owners/management company to care about the quality of their product. We are not picky, but we also like to be able to relax and hang out inside during our vacation. This was hardly possible.

15 years and can’t stop the leak

Crappy Get there and there is water coming from poor caulking on the windows. Water stains on other walls. Window casings that had hunks of wood out of them. Window blinds broken, blinds on the wrong side of the windows and hard to open. Walls had damage and marks on them everywhere. Deck had 3 chairs for 10 people to sit in. property manager addresses this on the last day we were there by bringing metal black chairs to sit on the deck. i am sure that will be a hot seat. Tried to contact property manager on Saturday when we arrived, was told by Jen, they were aware of all the issues we had addressed. But because of hurricane Michael had not been repaired.. In talking to the manager of the rental agency Jen was wrong. They have been addressing for 15 years. On the last night we were there rain came from the other direction, rain came in other windows and got beds wet. The the roaches came out. Location is great would NEVER stay at this house again

Great location and views, terrible furnishings

I would love to give this house a great review because it has so much potential. A great location on Cape San Blas, easy beach access and stunning views. Unfortunately the home is so sparsely and cheaply furnished that it made the vacation difficult to enjoy. Cheap, uncomfortable plastic chairs on the deck, a single sofa and chair in the living area and beds that my husband said reminded him of boot camp. We are a small family of three and there was literally nowhere that we could all sit and hang out together comfortably. We wound up leaving a day early because we didn't want to be in the house any longer. We did bring our own pillows and blankets, so sleeping was better than it could have been if we had not. I hope for future renters' sake the owners consider a moderate investment in decent furnishings.

Great house, if you can get to it! Drivers beware

House was great. Right on the beach. Clean, large, well stocked and great views. Biggest problem was driving to the house. The road into the cape was paved but once we tuned into the side road to get to the house the last stretch was a very soft sand road. Our van got stuck on the way in. Lucky for us a few guys walked by and were able to help dig and push us out, but we were terrified of getting stuck again so we left our car in the carport for our entire stay and just biked or walked if we needed to leave. We saw and heard multiple trucks and cars struggle or get stuck in the road in the few days we were there. On the way out we needed to use big wood boards to ensure we didn’t get stuck again. Also, we left several messages (texts and voicemails) with management about a question we had about trash pickup and they never responded. Not a huge deal for us since it was not a major issue, but if you do have a major issue with the house, you may have difficulty reaching someone to help.

Well appointed house in a great location with minor issues.

The beach at Cape San Blas was beautiful and relatively secluded. The house overall was very clean and well maintained. The most annoying issue/condition was that the stairs at the end of the boardwalk closest to the beach were missing. This had been previously identified (prior to our arrival) but no effort was made repair/replace them while we were there. Our alternative was to jump down 4 feet to the beach or walk through the grassy part of the dunes (good thing it wasn't sea turtle hatching season). Another issue that came up was during the one day of rain (with strong wind) we noticed (and reported) that the large upper window in the living room leaks around its upper seal (there was evidence of previous leakage on the ceiling on either side of the doorwall). All the house mechanical systems (water, sewage, air conditioning, electrical) worked fine.

Great Location! Needs Updates

LaMer's location was outstanding. Only steps from a beautiful part of the beach. The gorgeous sunsets could be seen from the deck and from the living room. We must have taken hundreds of pictures. We were also able to watch dolphins as they swam by almost daily. Our rating would have been a 5 star if not for the interior of the home. The house was very clean and the layout was good for two adult couples. The rooms were a little on the small side, but not really a problem. The beds were comfortable and if you listened carefully, you could hear the waves hitting the beach. The closets did not come with any hangers for our clothes, so be prepared. The furniture in the family room definitely needs to be updated. With the one sofa and chair, there really wasn't enough sitting room for 4 people. We moved the futon from the sun room, but it was so uncomfortable that we hardly used it. Another recommendation would be to upgrade the TV's. The family room and the master bedroom had small flat screen TVs, and the queen bedroom had a very small tube type TV. I was very difficult to see. The kitchen was well equipped and was also very clean. The management company was very helpful. They responded quickly to any of our problems and the maintenance men were polite and helpful. With upgrades to furniture and TVs we would definitely return to LaMer.
