Ingleside Inn

Recent guest reviews

We spontaneously planned an overnight trip to Palm Springs and happened to find the Ingleside Inn. It is such a quaint hotel and although it's a right off Palm Canyon Drive you would never know you are in the city. The hotel was recently renovated but has not lost that old glamorous Hollywood charm that Palm Springs is infamous for. Highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed!!!

Staff is superb. They provided wonderful service. We had noise issues with our room on the first night that could have derailed the stay. and they accommodated us. Throughout the stay, the staff continued to be attentive, friendly, and helpful. Hotel is beautiful and location is close enough to walk to downtown but far enough away to not feel part of the scene.

I was in town for a convention, 4 days... booked this hotel based on reviews and such multiple months before the actual event... when I arrived, staff was pleasant, a real homey feeling... room was clean, large, and nice pool area... the downfalls: facility was under renovation, poor parking, no working TV or internet... as it turns out, new ownership decided to renovate, so during the day, you are fighting with the construction workers for parking... at night, you are fighting the patrons of the restaurant for parking... a bad situation... I even had to park off site one night... because they were under construction, the cable TV service was out... there was a nice new TV in the room, large screen, but no service to watch on it... management suggested we could use the internet to stream, but although I have a chromecast and roku that I travel with (for that reason), the internet was not good enough for that either... couldn't even check emails unless I was in the courtyard... one night I needed to take can of an important matter online... so I was in the courtyard with my tablet, only to get wet from the sprinklers when they came on promptly at 10:00pm (also the curfew for the common areas, including the courtyard)... to say the least, being disconnected at a working convention was not helpful by any means...

If you wish to get a glimpse into the world of Palm Springs back in days of Sinatra, Brando, Minelli, Ball, just to name a few, Ingleside Inn and Melvyns restaurant should be on your list of places to stay. In a beautiful setting, palm trees, the grounds are well groomed with mountains for a backdrop. The rooms are very comfortable with the classic touch. Melvyns restaurant is excellent for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And the classic bar with the cozy lounge and piano bar with a dance floor is not to missed. Who knows you might just see a famous celebrity.

TV wouldn't work without mechanic called in to help. Wifi very slow and only in lobby, not rooms. A.C. was old and noisy and went on and off noisily through the night; no A.C. in the bathroom. With temps in the 90's the whole time--day and night, --the A.C. issue was very important. No breakfast except the expensive one at the restaurant. Staff was nice and attentive, but the place itself is run down.

Everything was flawless from check in to check out. Greeted by friendly accommodating staff. The welcome basket was lovely and much appreciared!! Would defiantly stay here again.

If you want the old school Hollywood experience in Palm Springs - come to the Ingleside Inn. Stayed in one of the adorable bungalows. The restaurant, Melvyns, was on the premises and full of Hollywood history. You must have a drink at the bar to experience this wonderful place.

Lovely! Quaint hotel with bar and restaurant. Fun piano bar, beautiful grounds, efficient and welcoming front desk staff, surprising fruit and snack plate in room. Will come back.

I would definitely stay here again. The staff was very very friendly, the location superb, and the overall property was very romantic and tranquil.

I truly recommend this place if you're looking for a classy and charming old Hollywood desert retreat. Amazing staff, they make you feel home. The pool side is pleasant you can order breakfast and lunch there which is very convenient. The Melvins restaurant is cosy and elegant, I heard Sinatra had his rehearsal dinner there. I love the piano bar and the singer. It's just delightful and pleasant to hear all these beautiful songs from the golden age. I'm going back there soon. Can't wait!

This was a beautiful stay. It had the old time ambiance and modern amenities. The room was beautiful and clean and we enjoyed a drink at the bar and a wonderful birthday dinner in the evening. The staff EVERYWHERE on the premises were fantastic.....accommodating, polite, efficient and friendly. We would definitely stay here again! It brought us back to an era gone by. A true desert oasis. Thank you so much for our delightful stay! Lorraine Poitrinal

This is a cute hotel and the staff is more than eager to help you. Upon arrival we were greeted with a fruit platter and drinks. Very nice.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! I really appreciated the welcome snacks in the room, such a nice touch that you don't get many places these days. It was a great location, we walked downtown for window shopping, dinner and ice cream in the evening. It is an old hotel, so you should know that going in, it's not a fancy modern hotel. But it is a completely adorable, clean, lovely hotel with incredible landscaping, a nice pool area, and a great location!

The Ingleside Inn was the perfect, delightful, lovely, non-"cookie cutter" place to stay in a Palm Springs! The grounds are lush and beautiful and filled with sumptuous flowers and plantings. The mountainous view from our front door was the perfect antidote to our flat Florida landscape. From the complimentary welcome basket to our wonderful dinner and piano bar entertainment at Melvyn's (the Ingleside Inn restaurant), this is the perfect place in a perfect location if you are traveling to Palm Springs!

Great location in the heart of Palm Springs. The staff was always friendly and accomodating. The piano bar at night was just a blast. It was a Tuesday and it was rocking with song and dance. Walking to many nearby restaraunts was easy due to hotel location. Older hotel but very well maintained. A must try for someone looking for something different.

Great historic property in downtown Palm Springs. The older rooms are beautiful but simple. It's a one block walk to the bustle of the city, but a world away from the bustle. Perfect for relaxing. Modernism week was fabulous.

A lot of character and charm. Great atmosphere, great meal and service at Melvyn's. Great location to downtown Palm Springs, short walk to Main Street. Clean well appointed suite - villa 10.

Beauty all around and entertainment in lounge every night that was 5star.

Exceeded our expectations. Friendly, efficient staff, great location and historic architecture. Ditto for Melvin's restaurant which is co-owned on the same property.

What a find! Grounds were beautiful, pool was fun the Jazz was a riot! A great time was had by all. We will stay here on every trip to Palm Springs...
