Basic quiet sleep. I do not need amenities. The roof leaked in my room when it rained. Drip, drip, drip on the carpet during the early morning.

Would advise you stay elsewhere due to condition of facility. Although staff friendly and linens clean this is where it ended. The place simply is too run down to repair, walls and railings sagging, cracked concrete and pools did not appear clean. No hot water in the bathroom on both days. Anyone who buys a $10 day pass can come in, tons of kids running amok and people were eating and dropping food into the pools. I would not return and building actually appears structurally unsafe.

The place looks like it has had no updates from years ago. Pools are nice, staff was helpful, overall looks dingy. Restaurant looks like a throwback to 80s.

The room had clear evidence that a flood occurred in the room prior. The floor boards were completely distorted and lifting. The room had the musty stench of stale and mold. Cockroaches were present in the restroom. Although I would never stay here again, the staff was very polite and courteous.

Funky mid-century modern resort. Great pools!

We stay here on our way to CA beaches near San Diego. We love the desert oasis vibe and the pools here are just wonderful. Love the food at the restaurant and the great service we receive. Bar is fanciful with a giant desert mural, multiple tvs and karaoke nights which are entertaining. Wish they had extended stay rates for snowbirds. I’d gladly spend a month here.

I have been staying here for years . It is always our first stop after a few days of camping in the desert. The pools are great . Always clean. A wide variety of temperatures. This is a charming mid century Spa Hotel that may not be everyones cup of tea but if you are looking to unwind after a few days in the desert this place great. And a bargain too.

We choose this old hotel for the price, and the access to numerous mineral hot tubs and pools right outside our room and were not disappointed. There is secure parking and good restaurants an easy walk away. When our room had an issue with the plumbing the response was prompt...and we were moved to a new room immediately.

Great place to unwind

I've stayed at DHS Spa Hotel maybe a dozen times over the past decade. The Spa is definitely a hold-over from an earlier era, and has lots of idiosyncrasies (few wall plugs, finicky TVs and heating/AC -- but the overall ambiance is completely charming. And the hot pools are as lovely as they look in any PR pic you see of the property. It's also remarkably inexpensive compared to most lodging in the area.
