Room dirty. No phone. Furniture piled outside door and on grounds. Hot springs pools littered with trash in pathways. Local residents also had cheap access to pools. We chose not to stay after checking in to the room and observing conditions. Unsafe.

Book my room online got the itinerary number drove 100 miles to check in and I was told my room was not available they were already booked

I stayed there during a remodeling of my apartment for seven days. I have a small dog and did not know how she would react if I left her alone, so I took her everywhere. This was a good thing for me. However, because of this and my not wanting to be around too many people, I decided not to use the pools, etc. I thought I could enjoy the mineral water by taking hot baths in my room, however the plug did not work. On day one I informed the staff that I like take baths and would like the plug to be fixed. I said that I prefer baths, and they did sent a young man to look at the tub and he told me that the latch (?) was not connected to the plug. Duh, I knew that and he left and never came back. Every day I kept asking for the plug to be fixed with no resolve. I finally figured out the drain cover could be removed. I used a wash rag to plug up the tub and got to 2 baths. Next time I will just stay at Hotel 6. The restaurant staff was great & food pretty good. Very disappointing!!!!

I found the Desert Spring Hotel to be a disappointment. I arrived late the first night to find a party going on, on a Wednesday. The hot tubs are not hot, they are warm at best. I confirmed with other folks, those tubs are never hot. Several warm pools, filled with people being quite noisy, every night. It is a social atmosphere, but it was a mix of families with kids, young adults, all being noisy. The pools did not look overly clean, it was a little disturbing given the number of people that came and went. The price was right, that was why I selected the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If the owner remodeled added some sound proofing and updated the rooms they could have a nice facility.

pretty terrible. guests were smoking in the pool area. guests smoked in our non-smoking room prior to our stay outside patio was left with cigarette ashes, cigarette butts and chips all over.

Felt like a cheap motel. Tub dirty pool as well. Need remodeling.

The personal was very n ice and always ready to help, I left a day early because I could not sleep in my room, at night there was a dog that was barking and kids screaming and baby crying so I stayed at a friend house for my last night in order to sleep

on the Weekend we did not get enough towels and there was a lot of noise from outside visitors. the noise carried on into the night and disturbed our sleep.

Well, Hotel food and drink excellent staff at counter nice, room was not really neat and clean.

nothing like the pictures....... needs to be up dated..

The restaurant had slow service but staff was nice. The rooms were ok, tv was old style and had bad picture and sound. The pool and spa's are the only area that is well kept. Would not stay there again.

The water is fantastic and the staff was very helpful especially Nadine. We had a mix up on a sold out weekend but they put forth a lot of effort to accomadate us. Go see the Cabit museum a few miles away.

Not the best room we had stayed. But the hot spring pools are fantastic and it is great for families with kids.

Hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Restaurant is from the 50's and pools are dirty. Super windy location. I dont think Im coming back!

Clean and comfortable. Not elegant but great resting place with wonderful mineral pools to relax in. Staff friendly and helpful. Great value. Location gave easy access to Joshua Tree National Park and Big Morongo Preserve.

Great pool and Spa treatments do not make up for old and insecure physical plant The Room keys are metal. The security partition that limits access to rooms at the back of the hotel has a lock that is broken and not secure. Cable tv has noting to watch Room was poorly clean. The cocktail lounge and Restrurant was good and had a friendly staff. Would not stay again.

We wanted a place to get in the hot water after an all day drive across the desert. This was great. Mineral pools of different temps all open 24 hours. The mineral pools and swimming pools and pool deck are great. The hotel is a time capsule to the 50s and 60s. The design, the construction, the interiors all were fine/OK but from 1960. Our room was large and clean. The bed was good, but not equal to the best I have had in a good hotel/motel. Good linens and pillows. The rest of the furniture seemed to be 50 years old but clean and comfortable. Wifi worked fine. The "mountain view" room was not worth it. The pool view rooms have more updating inside. We chose mountain in case the pool rooms were too loud. But in mid July the Sat evening was calm and Sat night was very quiet. Very nice cafe/restaurant on site. We had a great breakfast. Overall good value and we will go back. It is like renting a vintage Rolls for a limo. Style and feel but not all the slick look, bells and whistles we now have in new cars and hotel construction.

The most shocking aspect of our visit is that the spa & pools are open to the public not just the guests. The level of noise and usage was beyond the comfort range. From the early am to late pm the noise is deafening and unpleasant. The room was shabby at best and definitely NOT SECURE. While the sheets and bed were clean and adequate everything else in the room and hotel has a patina of overuse and shabbiness. The non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke. While the staff is polite and hardworking the accommodations are so decrepit as to make our stay a great disappointment. If a "spa" implies to you health and comfort this is not your place. By making the facilities open to the public that brings with it an element of behavior that is not conducive comfort and relaxation.

Absolutely no way should this be considered a four star hotel. The rooms need updating 30 years ago. The food from the restaurant was mediocre at best. I would never stay in this hotel again.

Great hotel for the pools and value! The rooms are not the best, but if you are there to enjoy the pools-it can't be a better value. Thei restaurant is very resonable and the service is great! Don't expect a high scale resort, but it definitely A resort. We were a family with teen agers and we all enjoyed it!
