Mondello Palace Hotel

Great location but leaves much to be desired for a 4 star property by today's standards. It is clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. To keep the 4 stars, the property needs a facelift, room furniture, garden, lobby. Oh and the waiters need to change their uniforms. I think they have all been wearing the same clothes for the last 40 years!

Location is absolutely perfect, close to the see and five minutes from the centre of Mondello. We appreciated very nice breakfast, served by very kind, polite Italians old style waiters, beautiful swimming pool and very close private beach for customers of the hotel. Everything was really perfect and we spent a wonderful week in Mondello Palace Hotel. Special thanks to the men at the reception who was extremely gentle for us!

I went there just for one night and there was a sewage odours, like toilet on the room. I spoke to the reception man, hi told me that he will send someone but when we back at room it was less odours but after we couldn't sleep!!! It's impossible that it have 4 stars. It's a shame. We can't eat after 22h so buy food before you go there. Very old hotel.

Hotel was probably built in the 30's and it shows. Room certainly had a view of the sea but over totally unkempt gardens. Midweek area is quiet but not likely to be at weekends.Good choice of restaurants but in Mondello village at least half a mile away. Staff were completely indifferent to both our arrival and departure and no hotel facility information was provided, worst service of our two week stay in Sicily. Poor value for money and would choose to stay somewhere else.

It's really too bad that Mondello Palace Hotel was not able to allow me to cancel/get a refund for my upcoming stay due to having to return home for emergency surgery when 2 of my other 3 hotels gratefully did. As someone who stays in hotels over 60-70 nights per year, this is the first one has not allowed due to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately the timing of my emergency was outside of my control.

helpful staff - we had had a long journey and they even opened the bar for us. Hotel is a bit "1970's" in décor terms, but good sized bedroom and bathroom, and a big balcony. Full sea view over sandy bay. This is a working village as well as one for tourists - fishermen landing their catch etc. But gets very busy in the summer, especially at weekends..

Stayed here while travelling Thro Europe , this was the last hotel before we caught ferry to Malta . When arrived it was about 9pm at night so we just checked in then went out for dinner . Hotel was lovely beautiful views in morning of sunset , room was ok nothing to fancy quite old .When woke up at 7 am the room had been invaded by ants!!!! Not nice to see they were everywhere bathroom & all over dressing table in bedroom !!! So def very disappointed & wont be back to this hotel again so not a good review from me because my morn was spoilt be the ants !!! Shame tho as everything else seemed ok.

Great location right on the promenade with lots of restaurants and cafes around. Very good if you are travelling with a car as parking is on the property grounds. Staff are very helpful. Rooms could do with a bit of renovation however it's good overall as it is clean. The breakfast is OK quite normal.

Hotel was very unclean and pictures online were deceiving. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Restaurant that they feature in the picture on the beach is a good place for fresh fish. Overall we were quite disappointed.

We booked a room for a family of three(2 adults and a9 yrs old child) via booking.com. The reservation explicitly said one big bed one small bed and sea view. The price quoted was 143 euro including vat. When we came to check-in they said that the room booked ea double and not triple and that we had to pay additional circa 20 euros. When I said I wanted to cancel the reservation in that case, they accepted the price of the booking. The location of the hotel is great but apparently very badly and non transparently managed: # The pool was closed. This was one of the reasons we booked this hotel for the little one, but there was no mention of this fact in their site. #it rained one night so the private area of the beach was closed (??/#!#) The next morning which was a beautiful sunny day #the lady on the reception with the British accent was very unfriendly and arrogant.
