Booked this hotel on the express condition that it had secure on-site parking as we were carrying valuables in the car. When we arrived our car (a Citroen C5 Estate) was too big to manoeuvre into the vehicle lift because the road outside was too narrow. After a couple of minutes of trying there was traffic backed up behind me all hooting. Pulled onto the footpath and shot into the hotel to explain the problem. Although the receptionist was perfectly polite my Spanish nor her English were good enough for me to explain that I didn't want to accept the alternative parking that she offered as it was too far away and that we needed quick access to our car. I then had no alternative but to cancel the booking and find accommodation elsewhere. The hotel however, still charged me for the booking despite the fact that, I feel, the hotel was not fit for my purpose. I have subsequently spoken to Bookings.com, Eurostars customer service and the hotel management all to no avail. Not only will they not offer me any sort of refund THEY HAVE CHARGED FOR BREAKFAST as well. They would not even compromise and offer even a partial refund. Suffice it to say, I will not be staying at any Eurostars hotels again. Can't offer any opinion of the hotel itself as we didn't stay although it looked quite nice.
Second visit to this hotel and the standards experienced last time have not diminished. Clean tidy foyer and very professional reception staff. Two floors of underground car parking, altho not for the faint hearted as the lift is tight as are the parking spaces. Altho a smaller room this visit the facilities were clean, new, and all present. My only gripe regarding the hotel are the prices at the bar. We had a meal in town and came back to the hotel but decided to have a couple of drinks "in house". We were charged €28.00 for four drinks. Very nice tho they were - spoilt the experience. SO BEWARE.. Overall and like before - we look forward to our next visit..
I have stayed at this hotel a few times now and it has always been a good place to stay. Good value, pleasant and helpful staff and a good breakfast. It also has secure underground parking which is great for me to be able to park my motorcycle securely. Recommended.
Friendly staff on arrival who spoke excellent English and explained where to eat and main attractions in the area. Unfortunately the underground parking not suitable for our large car. Room was modern, clean. Beautiful bathroom. We had a balcony and this was nice to be able to use although it was November. The Hotel restaurant was closed on the Saturday night. But lots of local restaurants and not too far to walk to a pleasant shopping precinct.
The underground parking is very secure but restricted and not very accesable for larger cars, hotel very good with friendly helpful staff, only problem for me was that the hotel restaurant is NOT open at weekends, can you believe that ! It was pouring with rain when I was there and was told the nearest restaurant was a ten minute walk into centre, so we ended up with a free delivery Pizza from Domino.. Breakfast was included and offered a very good selection hot and cold.... I would stay there again as overall a good hotel and only lost one star for closed restaurant.......
The primary reason to stay here is the underground secure parking. It's reasonable value for €9. Since the last time, however, the hotel has also been upgraded. Very smart, comfortable and good value for less than €50. Didn't bother with the breakfast (€9) as there are 3 bar/cafes within 100m (turn left outside) who will serve coffee and croissant for €2.50. Guess you could have more but it's only a 2-hour drive to Santander (for lunch before ferry)
On arrival the receptionist spoke excellent English and was so helpful. The underground car park was excellent as was the room. The room was bright, spacious and very good quality. The bathroom was very clean and the bedroom area well planned. We ate in the restaurant and the food was really. We believe we had a trainee waiter who was courteous and well mannered however we think he became confused at what we ordered and we did not get what we specifically asked for . A minor hiccup. A very enjoyable stay in the classy establishment...
I stayed at this hotel twice in 4 weeks. It is comfortable and very good value. There is secure parking including for motorcycles (which I was on). The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Overall a really good place to stay.
Spent one night here on a Leger tour of Spain and Portugal. Arrived 10-30pm due to a delay on Brittany Ferries. Whilst they can be commended for supplying a hot meal for us all it wasn't well recieved by all our group. We were served a soup, which was nice followed by pork spare ribs and fruit. Not to everyone's taste. As we only spent 11 hours at the hotel before moving on its unfair to comment on the hotel itself. Breakfast was passable.
Booked this hotel, as part of our motorcycle tour of Spain, chose it as it had secure parking. The receptionist was very helpful spoke really good English and gave us good information about where to eat in town, Hotel was very clean and offered a very good breakfast selection. Hotel was quite easy to find in Palencia and had great underground parking We would recommend this hotel.
