Stayed for a night on a business trip, no frills hotel, clean with attentive staff breakfast was ample & sufficient. Location excellent within a fifteen minute walk of the old town for bars & restaurants.
This is a very clean beautifully appointed hotel part of the Marriott chain. Great position close to all tourist things. A 15 min walk gets you to the main square and the beautiful cathedral. Not far from the great statue overlooking the town. Would stay here again. Beds wer so comfortable and staff so friendly.
Stayed here on the way to southern Spain. The main attraction was the hotel's accessibility from the main road south. The hotel was very comfortable and the rooms were finished to a very high standard. As it was the weekend the restaurant was not open but there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. We had breakfast in the hotel the following morning which was perfectly fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. While being some distance from the town centre this was not an issue for us a we were only travelling through.
We arrived in early June for a pre-booked one night stay. I specifically requested a quiet room but were given a room on the first floor overlooking the main street, river and busy street on the other side. The air conditioning was not operating in the hotel, something that several other guests complained about. It might not have seemed too hot for locals but the only way we could stay cool in the evening was to open the windows and therefore let more noise in. We complained at checkout and they credited our parking fee in their underground car park, as a goodwill gesture. The beds were cheap, poor construction and not comfortable - something I find really surprising for a Marriot hotel. They probably spent all the budget on expensive art objects in the spacious atrium areas. Many people will be impressed by the modern, business hotel facilities and if you're running a training course or a small conference this is probably a good place to use, assuming it's late enough in the season for them to turn on the air conditioning and you're just so tired that you can sleep in a bed that could not have cost more than €50.
Be warned no restaurant, no bar no room service Friday, Saturday, Sunday and no mention of this when booking. Arrived on a wet cold night and really didn't fancy pounding the streets looking for somewhere.. pity because a nice clean, comfortable hotel
Enjoyed a decent stopover at this hotel en route from Portugal. A very clean and comfortable hotel...and its dog friendly! A decent location, walked into Palencia. Many facilities adjacent to the hotel. There is under ground parking available but we found a space just outside reception...very handy..and free! Overall a very nice hotel, easy to find and access from the motorway. Rooms comfortable, warm and plenty of hot water. Pleasant and helpful staff and a decent breakfast, mainly continental, but did have scrambled egg and fried bacon available. Definitely stop there again......
Afetr a bitter experiance at the Holiday Inn Express in Madrid, I needed a rest and I was surprised by this Hotel, I found everything up to standard the reception was great, the room fantastic plenty of pillows and extra blankets, comfy beds, restraunt was closed for an evening meal but as we arrived early had time to visit the town so eating was not a problem, Breakfast was abit disapointing , I like Palencia but my usual Hotel was closed this one will be my new best friend
Having crossed from Portsmouth to Santander we drove the 2 hrs to get here...we were met by a very pleasant young lady, she booked us in ........what a comfortable room, clean, tidy and oh so comfy bed....... I asked if I needed to change to go to dinner, was told no. Had the most wonderful fillet steak and a nice bottle of rosé..... All in all was really worth stopping off there and wouldn't hesitate at recommending it to anyone else
Unfriendly receptionist upon arrival. Given room key, no explanation given for breakfast timings, restaurant, wifi etc. Ordered some drinks from the limited bar and the waiter spent most of the time watching Real Madrid on the television. Generally poor service and unhelpful staff, will not return.
Very convenient when travelling up from the Murcia region to Santander or if you have a late crossing and don't want to travel too far. This Hotel is a very short distance from motorway and about two hours from Santander its also dog friendly which was perfect. Room was very nice great bathroom, underground parking (8.50E) and limited above ground (free) parking however there is waste ground at the side and plenty of parking on the avenue Cuba. Breakfast was fine and what you'd expect for the price range with plenty of variety.
