Wonderful beach front resort. Each room is its own little villa house. Very clean and had ample AC which is much needed. Steps away from the ocean. Nightly dinner at the restaurant was included which is super convenient. Front desk also arranged tours in Stone Town for us. The spa is fantastic.

The Bahari Villa, pool, beach and staff. The location - Paje and Jambiani are the best places to rest and go the beach in Zanzibar. The hotel has to improve the food by using more local ingredients. Too many international and imported products.

Solo traveller. This was my 2nd trip to Znz. The white powder beach is very long and wide so even at high tide you can walk, not like in the north of the island. Paje village is about 20 (beach) walk from the hotel. There are 2 dive centers at 25min walk. During raining season (mar-jun), they are closed like most hotels. There are loads of kite surfing spots on the beach also. The typical excursions are the Blue safari (not worth at all), swim with dolphins, spice farms, Stone Town (worth spending a night at the sister hotel), the butterfly farm and the forest. Prices vary on you nationality from simple to double if you take them outside the hotel. They are quite expensive. Some tourists also rent scooters. The hotel was managed to perfection: rooms, pool, gardens, beach. It was among the best maintained hotel I have ever been. The individual villas are very big and nice. The bathroom is huge but outdated. They will be renovated in june though. The hotel manager Joab was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff was super friendly. The half board is breakfast and dinner. Limited choice for food but it is good, especially vegetarian. Overall I had a great relaxing time - there were just a few kids and guests were respectful of each other's space and privacy. I would recommend the hotel.

Great place

This was a great choice for a 3 day stay, in fact I wish I had stayed for 4 or 5 days here and gone to Stone Town via a tour or taxi instead of spending 2 nights in Stone Town and 2 nights here. Stone Town can be done in a day. The villas look just like in the pictures; they were clean and comfortable. The open sided restaurant is behind the pool with a slight view of the ocean. The food was good, plentiful and had several different choices each evening. The morning buffet had breads, yogurt, fruits, granola and several hot food choices along with an egg/omelet station. The beach was clean but swimming in the ocean can be a challenge for 2 reason, when the tide is out the water is at least a quarter mile out, and the hotel has kite surfing opportunities on both sides. The lessons and surfers use the entire beach. It was quite fun watching the kite surfing though. The guards keep the hawkers away from the guests. The pool was clean and a beautiful area but be aware it does not look over the ocean as the website portrays. The vegetation has grown substantially so you cannot see the ocean while sitting. The shade however was a welcome respite from the hot beach. I cannot emphasize how friendly the entire staff was to all the guests. My friend and I felt safe walking around the resort after dark. My only negative was the exercise equipment I wanted to use was broken. I was told a repair person was going to be called immediately.
