This is the 3rd time staying. 1st 2 visits were great. Really disappointed on our last visit. We had to wait 1hr after check in time since our room wasn't ready. Room had several cleaning/ maintenance issues which could have easily been fixed.
A wonderful, relaxing experience. The facilities are great, the staff is friendly and professional, and the location cannot be any better. If you are looking for a place to wind down and relax, look no further. I cannot wait to visit again!
I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 because the hot springs are nice to relax in after a day of hiking/biking, however the room we booked was a Deluxe. The pictures online showed rooms in the new building instead we were in a small building to side(looked like a trailer) that hadn't been updated since the 80s. My husband and I paid around $380/night (with taxes and fees) and our room had pink walls, uncomfortable bed, and a horribly dated bathroom. When I'm paying that kind of price (especially in Pagosa Springs) I expected MUCH more...it's not Aspen or Vail. Would never stay at this hotel again. Just pay the $25 for the day pass for the hot springs and stay somewhere else. This is what we have always done in the past and after looking online at the hotel photos, I wanted to give it a try because it looked luxurious and relaxing. Wouldn't recommend to any friends or family.
So many soaking pools--so little time! Staying in the hotel is the way to go--you really can soak all night long. Bring crocs, water shoes, or rubber boots for getting from hotel rooms to pools and from pool to pool.
we are repeat guests at the springs and thoroughly enjoy the variety of pools, the luxurious rooms in the new building, the friendliness of the staff and the vicinity (walking distance) to restaurants and shops. (root house coffee right across the river is our new favorite!) we love the turret suite and while it is a little spendy for the area, it is a beautiful space in a lovely building.
If you are going to visit the hot springs, I highly recommend staying at the resort instead of getting a day pass. Staying there is so worth it! Midnight soaks are the best! No one is there. We also would get up before the sun in the morning and just watch as the sun slowly kissed everything. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Even though the hotel messed up on a few things regarding our stay, they fixed it and made it right. The staff was very friendly.
Excellent customer service, relaxing environment, don't let the sulphur smell discourage the chance to soak in the healing waters. The unique tubs and VIP area are one of a kind and well worth the price!
Stopped for compressed rest, therapy and sleep . Rested, soaked and rested some more. Staff was excellent. Spa had good staff. Room was clean and comfy, but didn't have a hair dryer which was inconvenient at a water resort. Food is good at local nearby eateries. Spa is dated, but has talented therapists. Read profiles before booking.
Staff was helpful and kind. Room was nice and the pools were epic. By far the most relaxing and romantic vacation for two. The fact that you can soak late into the night or early in the morning made the pools private and quiet.
This is by far our favorite of all the hot springs in Colorado. The numerous smaller pools creates a more intimate, relaxing experience on the banks of the river. It’s pretty pricey, but definitely shell out the few extra bucks to rent towels (and bathrobes in the colder months). **TIP** The naturally occurring sulfur leaves an aroma in your suit and especially our towels that required soaking in vinegar and multiple wash cycles to remove, avoid this by renting towels!
