The room was beautiful, the staff was friendly and welcome, but I was very disappointed by some aspects of my stay, I only was there for 2 days. They didn’t remove the cup from my welcome drink and when I moved it outside my room it sat there until I left even though they came for turn down service and to clean my room since I was clearly finished with it. I also asked the housekeeping for an extra qtip when she came for the turn down and she handed me a cup and clearly didn’t understand English, just a bit disappointing. Also, they didn’t give me slippers and when I was I was told they ran out of them. I find that hard to believe. I had called twice and then after almost an hour they called back to say they ran out. At breakfast at the buffet they didn’t get my drinks to my table in time for my meal either and other customers said that was typical. I loved the hotel, I’ve been coming to st maarten for years and although the property was beautiful I have stayed at many JW marriotts and this one was about a 6/10 when the brand is usually a 10/10.

Every part of the JW Marriott St.Martin experience was exceptional. The staff at this resort are what make it that way. They are truly the best in the entire Caribbean and we have been to almost every island so can say this with thorough travel experience. The food is exceptional, the rooms are exceptional, facilities are all clean and well maintained. We went during the busy Christmas and New Year’s period and even with the resort sold out, you could always find a chair by the pool, they never run out of clean towels and you feel like you’re a special guest. Thank you to everyone at JW with special call outs to Stevenson, Anaika, Kevin, Leann, Dane, and Panurdang who made us feel extra special.

September 2025. The accommodation was clean, with comfortable beds and a well-maintained bathroom. The staff at the JW Marriott St. Maarten Beach Resort & Spa provided exemplary service. The only minor issue encountered was the lack of clear communication regarding the closure of some on-site restaurants during check-in and Beach Seaweed. Overall, a stay at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa in St. Maarten delivers a premium and comfortable experience, particularly for guests seeking upscale amenities and high-quality service. Very quiet spa hotel. Good for relaxing I suppose but not much else. Not much going on on the hotel grounds. The beach is subpar. The on-site restaurants are decent (there are only a few - 1 open full time, 2 bars, and 1 open only part time) but not great. I wasn’t impressed with the food. The service was great, though. My biggest gripe was the fact that the local birds are allowed to hop all over the outdoor tables (on the silverware!!) which is so unsanitary! The on-site store is also quite bare. You can’t even buy a beach towel. Lastly, the power went out for 30 minutes on our last night there. It was not acknowledged, nor was compensation offered, until we asked and pushed for it. Overall, 3/5 stars, I most likely won’t be coming back to this hotel, although I will certainly be back to the island, as St Maarten is BEAUTIFUL and I enjoyed my time. (The Marriott location in St Kitts is a MUCH better experience. I also liked the Negril location in Jamaica. )
