We have stayed here before & eaten here many times. This was the first occasion that we have stayed in one of the suites on the second floor. We were so comfortable & enjoyed the Old Parsonage hospitality so much, that we stayed an extra night. The food is excellent & the dining room has a lovely atmosphere with all the 20th century portraits. The Andre Clouet house champagne is a treat which we don’t see on wine lists very often. The mousse like bubbles make it impossible to resist. A very enjoyable stay & highly recommended at anytime of the year.

Visiting oxford first time, decided to stay in old, typical English Inn. This was exactly as expected. Cozy, old, small rooms with right ambience. Good restaurant, great breakfast, tasty food. Easy parking and very friendly staff. walking distance to center 10 min

Viking River Cruises booked this hotel for us as part of a package, and it was superb. Wonderful, spacious (big enough to do my entire yoga routine), quiet room; excellent beds; well-trained, pleasant, and helpful 24-hour staff. Restaurant was excellent. My only criticisms would be lots of stairs (hey, it's Europe--old buildings = stairs and uneven thresholds) and too pricey to remain there after the Viking tour package ended. I must say we didn't ask about an elevator, though. We were way too busy touring. There was an issue with our room's thermostat, but they worked with us on that once they knew. As no one else on our tour had any problems, we turned it in to the manager as we left to look into. No doubt it was addressed by day's end.

Beautiful place with an atmosphere. The afternoon tea was huge!!!! A lot of food. Impossible to finish. Very highly recommended for any occasion. Service is efficient and staff really polite. Very quiet and smart.

I spent a week here visiting my daughter who was completing a summer course at Oxford. Loved the location, clean, cozy and well-appointed rooms and the excellent service. Would stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Can easily walk to all the famous colleges and pubs and then come back and put your feet up in the lovely library with a nice glass of wine or afternoon tea. Appreciated the French press coffee, little bottle of milk, nice selection of tea and bonus packet of delicious biscotti that was all included with the room and restocked each night along with still and sparking water. I hope to return one day!

Beautiful hotel! Exceptionally polite, helpful, attentive and courteous staff - all of them. We had been to the theatre and got back to the hotel quite late feeling hungry. Room service lovely recommend club sandwich- pricey but the best I’ve ever had. Breakfast again perfect!! Room luxurious ! Turn down service - again lovely touch. Just one negative but I hope it’s taken as constructive criticism- afternoon tea worst one I’ve ever had. Very expensive. Sandwiches nice but not enough. Scones lovely. Jam not good. Not clotted cream (we are from Devon after all). The little cakes all tasted like they had been frozen and out of a box. Huge disappointed - a little tip. Look up Bovey Castle in Devon. Their afternoon teas are certainly the best I have ever had Thank you all and I would definitely come back

Check Inn was of a very high standard and staff could never be more polite no words to describe how polite and well mannered they were at the checking process My luggage was carried up by concierge and i followed him along an impeccably clean spotless surrounding yet to be found in most hotels. Room was bright well decorated and spotless not a spec of dust around with the air con sending a cool breeze across the room in this humidity Breakfats the next morning was beautifully served in a quaint but cosy environment where you met people of different cultures. In the evening dinner was equally awesome and the service was excellent, staff polite and cheerful checking if everything was ok. A truly wonderful place to stay for excellent service and customer care. Will definitely return to the Old Parsonage

two breakfasts and two dinners in the Grill were excellent reception and restaurant staff were highly trained from across Europe with perfect English, manners and sense of humour. Only negative was the low backed chairs in the restaurant were were not ergonomic

Beautiful and immaculate rooms with plenty of nice amenities, very friendly and helpful reception and in a great location – but the hotel is let down by the restaurant. Indifferent staff who seem to be more interested in their private conversations than serving customers. Strange tables with badly designed legs that make it very difficult to sit comfortably. The food is quite good, but the staff just didn’t seem very helpful. Typical event: one night we were brusquely told that as we hadn’t booked a table the restaurant was full (at the time there were two couples sitting down). I assumed there was a large party due to arrive so I asked if we could arrange room service as menus are not included in your room. He hesitated as though he didn’t know what to do, when someone behind the bar whispered something to him and he suddenly took us to a table. We ordered, had our (excellent) meal, signed the bill and left a two thirds empty room.

We have just stayed at The Old Parsonage for my daughter’s Graduation. Having stayed here before we know the rooms are excellent, the food is delicious, the ambiance is relaxing and friendly and there are lovely areas to sit inside and outside. However what makes The Parsonage so unique is it’s staff. This special occasion was made even more wonderful by the attentiveness of everyone at The Parsonage from the moment we walked through the door. Thank you to Lisa for being so kind to us and looking after my 88 year old mother so well. Thank you also to Sebastian for going the extra mile and drying our wet beach towels ( not the responsibility of the Restaurant Manager) I really cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Thank you to The Old Parsonage Hotel for being superb in every way.
