This was for us the first time at Oviedo. We have choosen this hotel for one day stay with the Dakotabox. When we arrive at the hotel the welcome was quite cold. In general the attention to the guests during the breakfast and at the check out were quite good.
This hotel is in a great location in the center of Oviedo. Very clean, great staff. Free wifi, nice beds. Had a bar in the lobby and a restaurant food and breakfast are good. Rooms look to be recently renovated.
We left Silken Aviles a walk to the bus,and a walk from to Silken Oviedo all within a an hour or so.Our Asturian adventure continued with three days in Oviedo. A statue Woody Allen because it's his favourite city, easy to understand why. It's my kind of city being helped out by locals on more than one occasion. If we all looked to help strangers there would soon be no stranger just friends. Two museums a trip on the A2, a picnic at the monuments , a stroll around the old town and the park was done in two days as a lazy day was forced on us by the weather. The hotel named after the monuments? Is fifteen minutes walk from the bus station, and About the same time to the centre. all within walking accept the monuments but a 1.20 euro bus ride on the A2 1 .20 euro back on the A1 is the only transport required. The hotel has a small pool a gym. The café area is frequented by locals and it's a pleasant area with helpful staff and nice 🍰 with the coffee. Dinner three courses for 19euro including a small glass of water and wine or a little more if lucky is good value, menu changes daily. The steakhouse, 15 euro for a meat feast on the outskirts of town was also a good place to eat. Staff at the hotel were a delight and it was lovely that not all spoke English. Pigeon Spanish and gesturing was fun and rewarding. Thank you Silken monument x
We went for a couple of nights in Oviedo. First of all, make clear that the hotel personal was very nice, kind and efficient. No complains at all. Bedroom was very nice, elegant, simple, with a nice big bed, and an awesome bathroom, concretely shower was really perfect. The views of the bedroom were not the best, but it was silent, for perfect rest. The location is good. 15 minutes walk to the main hot spots of the city. We didnt use the extras like the pool or the gym, so no opinion of them. The parking is comfortable, with direct access to the hotel, which is perfect, but I find that could have better prize for clients (12 euros/24 hours). Breakfast is pretty good, just the coffee is not really nice, but I know Im exigent for coffee. Anyway, they had 2 different machines so you can try both of them and choose the better for you. I would recommend the hotel in general, but not sure if the prize relation is the best. True's said we went in August, which is high season.
After a week hiking in Asturias mountains, we booked this hotel to enjoy the extra treats that they offered... Unfortunately the Sauna was not working (they didnt tell us while we were doing the check-in. And the woman in front desk pretended to be surprised when we told her...She said she would call the handyman to get it fixed.. Next day it was still not working, and the woman in the front desk that day told us it had been like that for a few days, and it would remain that way...)
We spent just one night (departing for Camino Primitivo, which passes just behind the hotel btw) so it is hard to review. Nevetheless, nice (although a little bit small) room, quality air-conditioning, very good breakfast buffet, polite service...very good all in all.
Everything was really good. Super clean, 15 mins walk from bus station, friendly staff and very big rooms and comfortable. Very recommended. Restaurant was good but basic with excellent service though.
Although we stayed there for one night only, we loved this hotel. The lobby is quite comfortable and their breakfast was more than tasty and rich in quality and quantity. the rooms are very comfortable and quite modern offering all basic amenities. The staff in the reception was very polite and helpful, especially Maria the reception Head lady. The hotel is in 20 minutes walking distance from the city center, nice to stroll around passing main shopping boulevard.
We was in Oviedo for the Open de España Disc Golf tournament, and booked a family room for our family, 2 adults and 2 kids for 4 nights. We stayed at room 614 which was spacious with a nice hall in front of the room with a desk and wardrobe. We especially liked that the rooms was clean and fresh whenever we returned in the afternoon. The beds were comfy and we had god nights of sleep every night. The Wi-fi in the room was a bit weak, so we needed to sit in the hall of the room in order to get signals. The breakfast was really nice with a wide selection of food. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and we felt welcomed. The kids were really enjoying the pool, not the biggest one, and the water was pretty cold, but the kids loved it. In front of the pool, there was a small gym if you want to have an exercise. The hotel is situated with short walking access to grocery store, shopping mall and restaurants. We will definitely come back to Silken Monumental the next time we are traveling to Oviedo.
I booked 3 nights for 27 motorcyclists. The air conditioned rooms and secure underground parking make this a great hotel for a biking visit to the area. The bar is reasonably priced and the food is excellent. The Wi-Fi is not too slow and the gym/pool allow for some off bike relaxing. It's a sort walk to a number of restaurants and bars so there's plenty of choice for evening entertainment. Highly recommended.
